Coming from Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn, I'm spoiled for real, perfectly brewed coffee, coffee shops that brew from many different beans, baristas that know their beans in and out... Kahvelique is exactly what cosmopolitan foreigners, especially New Yorkers who are used to strong, well brewed espresso drinks, will appreciate. You can find everything from real cold brew (still unknown to most Turkish coffee shops) to espresso from low-acidity Ethiopian beans. The owner cares about the coffee they serve and is knowledgeable about the beans and different brewing methods. The service, as in most Turkish places, is attentive. Currently the location is convenient by car right on Ayşe Çavuş St and soon will be by the new train station (by the old Suadiye station). All in the best European-style coffee I was able to find on the Anatolian side. read more
