Save your money and go to Ontrack in CT. We had a group of 16 and organized a event there for a few of our friends. Karts were all falling apart, steering were loose and some of the karts struggled to accelerate and could barely keep up. Ever after switching karts, same issues happened. This was our first time giving GPNY a try and it will be our last. One of karts did a lap in the time other cars did 2. Marshall's didn't even make an effort to come out and apologize to the guest. Have to agree with whomever wrote about the suits and headgear. I agree lice could be an issue under less than ideal conditions and who wants to take that kind of chance? I also didn't care for the indifferent staff, and overpriced entrance fee and horrible smell (nothing like napalm in the morning). I wouldn't let my kids ride the go-karts because the stench of fumes was SO overpowering even as I neared the door that I thought I was going to pass out. If I want to be nickel and dimed to death while gassed out I can think of better ways to do it. Are you a speed demon on the road? So just how many points have you lost on your license anyway? Let me guess, license revoked? Well maybe if you had a little go-karting in your life then you be able to calm that inner speed racer inside you. If you're living in the city there's no better place to do this then going to Grand Prix. Just a short drive away up the scenic Saw Mill Parkway and you're there! The first time I ever raced the tracks at Grand Prix was earlier last year when I was invited to my sister's annual company invitational outing. All expenses were paid for and it pit company versus company in a team relay styled race. Nothing like taking all I've ever learned in Gran Turismo, Need for Speed and GTA and maniacally passing and drifting around 40+ year olds on the track. I recently also bought a Living Social deal for 2 races for two people. Right before New Years Eve I got my girlfriend in the car and took the drive up to Mount Kisco. The normal prices for races are a little on the pricey side; but with the deals it made it quite affordable. It also made for a pretty fun afternoon for the two of us. Prior to Grand Prix I had only ever been to the kiddie style go-kart tracks where the top speed is probably slower then your grandmother would walk to the supermarket. The karts at Grand Prix are fast! 45 mph fast! After finishing a race (normally with strangers) you receive a printout of how well you did. It'll show you quickest lap time, top speed, overall laps in the allotted time, and so on. I thought I was a maniac but boy oh boy was I wrong. There were kids out there speeding past me like I was a grandma! One thing you'll definitely get out of a day spent at Grand Prix is an appreciation for your car. The go-kart itself is quite small and with a big engine right next to your seat, you'll be vibrating and rattling throughout the length of the race. After two races, getting back in my car for the drive home made me feel like I was in a fancy luxury vehicle made of cotton. It was so smooth! All I have left to say is get out there and give it a go. The track is full of twists and turns to make any speed demon happy. You'll have fun, trust me on that! read more

I came out here to the middle of no where with friends to race go-karts! Actually Mt Kisco is about an hour north of the city - so its not that far. Man, I haven't been go karting for a while, so it was great. The place itself is cool - they have an arcade ($1 a game!!! Expensive), bowling (it was reserved) and then the go-kart which is also expense (about $20 a 12 min race - approx 15 laps)... The cars are in decent condition. FYI - you need to pick your time slots - you can do it consecutively or take breaks.. They also have a restaurant there which suprisingly was nice, the food was good - the service was really slow.... This was my first time at Grand Prix. It was an okay experience and definitely pricey. When you walk in, you have to sign in with their computers for a GoKart race. You are paying for the race ($25) and also a one day membership pass ($10) with tax, after all that I believe it came out to about $41 a person. You are required to watch an 8 minute video about safety, then put on the gear and wait for the race to begin. The race lasted only a few minutes but it was fun to go around and watch people try to knock one another off the track. The staff wasn't very helpful but what do you expect from 17 year old kids who know nothing about customer service. They offer food and beverages, even a full bar. The food was pretty decent, I was surprised. We ordered the *Appetizer sampler (mozzerella sticks, chicken fingers, and buffalo wings). We also ordered the *Baha Nachos (Monterey Jack/Cheddar cheese/ Chili/ Tomatoes/ Jalapenos/ Scallions/ Salsa/ Sour Cream)- really good, very tasty, and were completely covered. I left full and satisfied. Bowling- they actually have a pretty cool bowling spot. It's filled with neon lights and there are music videos on large projector screens playing over the pins while the song is blaring on their surround sound, but just enough so you don't go deaf. Again, servers were very poor and I had to go up to them to get a drink. Pool tables are available. We wanted to play pool but they ran out of pool sticks. How do you run out of pool sticks?! There were four people at one table with the only four sticks they possess. I thought that was kind of boot leg. Overall, it was okay. Would I rush back? Probably not. Was told the next availability for racing was in 1 1/2 hours. ( i think we arrived at 9 and was nothing till 10:30). ANDDD they don't take any reservations, its first come first serve. So insane. We opted to go bowling in the place, the lane costs $40 and yes folks that means $80 for 2 hours which i would say is an average stay. Very pricey. Waitress was friendly and patient, while we argued whether to get Bud or Stella to drink. If i told you what we chose id have to kill you :-P Lastly, i heard from 2 separate sources that the racers are extremely egotistical and think they are NASCAR drivers. One person i know almost got into a fight because he cut someone off (didn't bump them, cut them off..). My other friend talked of a similar experience. I was going to give it a 3.5 stars out of 5, but it wouldn't let me. So I rounded up a little to be a little fair. (I was last here in 2008, when it opened.) I haven't been to many other go-kart places before; I've been to one near Niagara Falls and another in Taiwan. However, the experience should be the same for anyone wherever they may be. There are also several not-so-good points to this place, which I will get to in a moment. This particular go-kart place is well managed, has interesting turns (I think one is a copy of the Corkscrew from Laguna Seca...), and the exhibits of special cars is quite awesome. I remember the day I went there were some interesting Subaru rally cars along with the assortment of race replicas. The food here is the same as you would find at a diner, which was expected. If you don't mind having diner food, you can simply pay for some somewhat overpriced food. I, on the other hand, used my phone and found a cheap Chinese place nearby. The cost of racing is ludicrously high, but I suppose that since the demand for driving is so high and popular that this is the typical cost in the U.S. for go-karting. The tracks all have interesting turns in them - some, like I said, from famous tracks around the world. Or if that's not the case, then a good variety of random styles from a "turn menu" when the tracks were laid out. Getting into your kart take a little waiting. So here's how it goes: you pay some exorbitant amount, change in the drivers' suit-up room into your helmet, neck brace, and jump suit, looking like a Power Ranger, and wait for your turn in the pit area. Once the 5 minutes of fame of the previous group is up, you go and do some driving. Fortunately, it's fun. Unfortunately, time flies... like a jet. (It felt like 30 seconds, and it's over.) Fortunately, I passed several people. Unfortunately, some of them passed me back. Fortunately, you can rematch with those same people... Unfortunately, you'll all be broke by the end of the second - if not third - race. The lot is also hard to find, which while not extremely bothersome, can be downright frustrating and annoying. Getting out also presents an interesting problem regarding traffic. However, the lot is quite spacious and parking shouldn't be an issue, since some people will be leaving throughout the day... wallets, credit cards, or bank accounts drained. All in all, Grand Prix NY is quite an interesting experience. If anyone were to go, please save yourself some money: buy the annual membership and go more than 2 times if you can. Otherwise, just go once, pay the one-day membership and drive to your hearts content then never look back. read more

OMG! I'm completely addicted to karting. I can't wait to go there again. Believe it or not, but it's also a very good working out. Today (the day after) I feel very sore, as if I had worked out very hard yesterday. GPNY has a very good infrastructure, better than Pole Position, in Jersey. The lap is a bit longer (30 secs vs 24 secs for an average racer), and so it is the total race. On the other hand, the go-karts are not as powerful as the electric go-karts in Pole Position (max speed: 40 mph vs 45 mph). Having electric motors, the go-karts in Pole Position has more torque in low revs, which makes you accelerate faster out of the tight curves. Some people like the smell of burned gasoline (as myself). For others, the fumes make them nauseated. So, for the former type of races, gas engine might be better, while electric engines might be the way to go for the latter type. Either way, you'll have so much fun that you'll become a fan :) read more

I love this place, I always have and I have come here fairly regularly since it opened up and I am so happy that its has become so busy - its a far cry from its former empty self. There is bowling, which is reasonable w. groupon deals, go karting for kids and adults, an intense arcade that is slightly overpriced a mini golf course (really small though) a bouncy castle for the youngens . They also a pretty cool bar/restaurant. Recently they added a 10 seat racing simulator which seems outrageously priced at $10 for 10mins. They need to schedule the racing times better; I felt like everything was happening too fast. We paid & just wandered on our own to the video room, that we assumed was the next step in heading to race.(because the cashier fails to inform us of the next step after we pay. We walk into the video room where the Safety video has already started;we missed a few rules. The safety Video didn't seem neccessary after actually driving the go kart. The first time I went it was fun. It was cool just to be racing with friends, and something different to do outside of New York City. The food sucks though but that's to be expected. We came here for my birthday. There is major miscommunication between the event team and the track director. The track director, Mike Poe, was very friendly, professional, and accommodating. He was able to fit 3 of my stragglers into our race without extra charge. He worked with us from letting us know when we should get ready after bowling, to the safety briefing (he made it entertaining), and keeping the race fun and safe. Afterwards, we had the award ceremony for our endurance race. He did a top notch job and excellent person to work with. Con: The Sales team is not very accommodating. They try to milk you for every penny. We signed up for a race package, with 10 teams of 2. The birthday person technically doesn't have to be in a team since they're on the track all the time. We tried to fit another person to our roster, and the coordinator was pushing for us to do the longer race which would have cost us another $400. read more

This place is for all ages! From the bouncy castles to the sports bar every age group can find themselves having a good time here. The staff are super friendly and management are not absent. Mike( a Manager at the sports bar) was happy to take my order and made me laugh everytime we talked. He introduced me to the other Mike( a racing trainer) and it was a pleasure to talk to them about the services they offer like private racing lessons. The sports bar menu was impressive, not only did they have your typical bar food, there were options for a healthy concious patron. FYI the fries are seasoned and delicious! Had a contract and specific, express conversations and arrangements to bring harmless/classic adult entertainment to a party which my contract described as "Bachelor Party", with the "theme" being an "Adult Social Event", and the contract provides that "Client may bring outside entertainment into reception space". Booked with sales manager nearly 2 weeks before event. 3 days before the event (after i paid nonrefundable deposits to GPNY & entertainment), they said i could not bring in the entertainment as had been previously dsicussed (in detail). They were totally unappologetic. Needless to say, put me in a VERY bad and expensive situation, and had to spend hours scrambling to find alternative venue. have a kid's party there, not a bachelor's party. Came here with my friends, my first time. I was impressed with the large space, nicely decorated, even had huge play area for kids. After quick registration and short training video, we were good to go. There is a bar and food is available to be ordered if you wanted. I felt that they did a great job of evoking a professional feel, it seemed well run. The Go Karts were awesome, surprised that there were no seat belts, but it was easy to get accustomed, before I knew it, we were doing our private race with just me and my buddies. I need to understand how to do the races and get better times, but it was most definitely fun, gets hot inside the gear and there was a minor issue with another drivier crashing into a wall (lol you have to be really bad driver to get knocked out your seat the way she was, but no one was hurt) I would come back here, price was reasonable at 60 bux for 2 races, each race lasting what seemed like 10-20 min each. They have slower go karts and also ability to extend the track on certain days. Great fun place! read more

Came here with a group of friends for a friend's birthday. I was excited, as I have never really go-karted before (I've done a kiddie track before). You are supposed to register before arriving, as it might be busy. It is pretty pricey (about $30/person/ride for a 10 minute ride). When we arrived, this place was practically empty. My friends and I had the track all to ourselves for our 2 races. First, you have to watch a safety video, then you can get suited up, They provide racing suits to wear, optionally. However, you are required to wear the proper headgear they provide. Overall, the 2 races were fun, but super short. The track is twisty, so it's not that easy to maneuver. However, the only negatives is the shortness of the ride, and how pricey it is. There is apparently also bowling and arcade games as well. They also serve food and drinks, which we did not try any of. read more

We were here for a birthday party on a Saturday afternoon. My 10-yr-old son loved it. The boys bowled, drove the cars, ate pizza and cake, and then hung in the arcade. What's not to love?? I went to this place for the first time last year in the Spring and again this year. Both times it was a company-sponsored visit, so I have no idea what the costs are for participating. We had a total of about 20 employees and it was a lot of fun. There was a 20-minute team qualifying session followed by an hour long live race. The turns were very tight and tough to manage. Since these were all adults you might think there was no bumping and banging, but there was plenty. The only negative I have about my most recent experience is that I was bothered quite a bit by the fumes from the gas-powered engines. It appeared that the ventilation system was not working properly. I became very dizzy and developed a headache. We were supposed to drive in 15-minute session but I couldn't make the entire race due to the headaches and dizziness. This did not happen on my first visit, so I'm definitely thinking that they had ventilation issues. After the race was over we had a meal/sandwiches that was catered by the facility. It was pretty decent. Again, I can't speak for cost because I wasn't paying. Overall, it was a very good experience and had lots of fun. read more

First experience at a go-kart racing joint and I had a blast. The only thing keeping this place from getting 5 stars was the fact that the timer was broken so they couldn't time my groups first race. What a bummer. I went with a group of 16 and everyone had a great time. It was a mix of first timers and repeat racers. The staff was extremely courteous and patient, although they were quick to throw that dreaded black flag. I highly recommend this place for coprorate events or just a night out with a group of people. We were sans kids, so I can't comment on that experience. The food wasn't half bad. There was someone in my group who was obsessed with ordering shrimp quesadillas. So worth the drive from central CT to this well kept, clean and easy to navigate place! The energy here is fun, laid back and the track is easily visible from the door. We raced and first two people plus day fee approx 70. Sounds pricey? Nope. A good 8 min race was worth it but you can get more time with a party! It's an all inclusive bowling alley, restaurant and arcade area that is all family oriented. Wayyy better than Dave and Busters! We raced with random people and it made for an exciting experience! It's an open place so you don't have to worry about finding anything but the bathroom. I found this place off a recommendation from Google and an hour later we were here! After my experience at Grand Prix NY Go Cart racing today, I decided to create an account to write my first Yelp review. Most people would start their first Yelp account review on a positive experience, but I couldn't bring myself to give the place more than a single star. Before reading on, I want to clarify my review is focused on the diner, food, bar, and SERVICE of the organization rather than the actual races itself which I don't have much complaints about. Let's get this out of the way first, the races were extremely fun, especially when going with a group of friends. Although very much overpriced at $25 dollars a race, one cannot be disappointed at the adrenaline rush of 360 degree turn at 40 miles per hour. The only downside with the race was the uncomfortable uniforms and prices associated with it. So my issue with this organization is the customer services surrounding the diner and the bar within the facility. Long story short, my friends and I got to the place somewhat too early with 3 hours to kill before the next available race of which we can partake in. So we decided to try some food at the diner/ bar right next to the tracks. After finally finding a table, we waited for someone to come to our table for drink order, no one came. Fifteen minutes went by , 30 minutes, and finally after one hour of sitting there with no server acknowledging us, I went up to the bar to place order. I placed my drink order (4 glasses of water) along with my food entrees with the bartender and he said he'll take care of it and apologized for the long wait. Thirty minutes went by, no drinks ever came to our table....... So I went up to the bartender to inquire about the status of our WATER. He responded shockingly, "Oh you guys haven't got it yet?!" (*** He was facing us, about 10 feet away with a full view of our table ***). He ended up apologizing again, and told us he would get it to us right away. Another 30 minutes went by, so about two hours had gone since we first sat down in our table for 4. And nothing was at our table. Our race was about to start in less than 20 minutes. At this point, I was fed up with the crappy service, it was ridiculous how we were treated. I approached some waitress that was running around the floor and asked her to direct me to a manager. NO ONE EVER CAME ...... Five minutes before the race, I approached the bartender one last time. Told him our situation once again, and implored him to cancel our entrees and food as nothing ever came out. Before I left I asked the bartender one final time to speak with the manager. He replied with," I am the manager for tonight". In my mind, I wanted to jump across the counter and grab my 4 glasses of water and shove it down his throat. But I convinced myself to get his name so I can file a complaint against the organization tomorrow morning. His resolution for the horrible service was that, when we are done with our race, he will have the food ready for us to heat it up for us to "enjoy". While my Go Carting experience could have rather been a great one on the day after Christmas, my day was overshadowed by the incompetence of those working in the diner and the bar. Therefore, personally I WOULD NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE EVER AGAIN!!! **** AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE OWNER **** The managers at the facility sincerely apologized for the behavior of the restaurant staff, and were extremely helpful in making my future experience a much better one. The incident has already occurred, so not much can be said about that particular day. However, the initiative the owner and the manager took to resolve my problem was commendable. In the end, I guess everyone deserves a second chance . read more

So fun! We started the day off with bowling then went to play the arcade games. Some games were broken but everything mostly worked. The area was clean which was surprising seeing how many children were around! We ended the day with the go karts; everyone should try it once! They didn't tell me you have to check in with the front desk so we missed the race we were scheduled for and had to wait 20 minutes, that being said we still had a great time. We went with 4 adults and 5 kids to bowl have dinner and race. The bowling was fine but we had to wait. The food was poor and pricy and the car racing was a disaster. First we were told kids under 8 needed to ride with an adult for safety. Ok we book 5 cars the one 9 year old can ride alone the other 4 kids each ride with an adult. Then it turns out that most of the cars that can accommodate an adult and a child were out of commission, there are only two double cars available, so two adults can ride with kids and now we are told all the kids ages 6 and up can drive themselves (I guess the safety rules change when the cars are out). We are also told because we only booked 5 cars and the doubles were not available two of the adults will have to sit it out. The car I was driving with my 5 year old stalled twice and had to be pushed off the track. When I complained to the staff member that the car was defective and should not have been rented I was met with a sarcastic response no apology or refund offer. The place is staffed by young people that are indifferent, and rude. The concept is cool and it could be a fun time for a family but the equipment is garbage and the staff incompetent. read more

I throughly enjoy this place, although my only issue every time I come is you have to use your points and can't save them for the next visit. With that said, your prizes ask for an absurd amount of points. Just a let down to an already expensive day/night out with the son and we're walking away with cheap gifts. read more

I think the problem wih this place is lack of Management. I called to find out about racing with my 20YO son last Thurs. On the website it says they are open @ 3:00pm I was told they didn't open till 6:15 so racing for that day was out. I called ths Thursday to go racing and was told 6:15 or 8:15 since I needed to use the groupon I chose 8:15. We get there @ 8:15 and I am told the earliest we coul race would be 9:00. I asked about the restaurant since the groupon included dinner. I was told the restaurant was open till 10:00. The go karts were awefull very badly tuned. we get done racing and head to the restaurant for dinner @ 9:15 and I'm told the restaurant is closed. I was offered a food voucher for the next time I come, However I don't live that close and the karts sucked so bad I won't be going back. Don't waste your money, 30 buck for 10 minutes on a nice track but lousy kart read more

Love this place a bit pricey but totally fun games food bowling and racing. Stop by Westchester burger everyone on my way out.

I went one night to do two races and ended up doing four! had a great time, the staff at the track was great with my needs and helping me adjust seats and pedals on the karts. I caught the kitchen right when they were about to close and they got us some food even though it was getting late. Its also a plus now that you don't have to wear the suits. (makes it a little quicker and easier) Looking forward to next time I go. read more
