I called for them to check my two porch lights (both have a history of burning out light bulbs after a few days so I thought they were giving off too much power). the checked the lights thoroughly but found no issues. I also wanted them to fix cabinet lights in my kitchen which they were able to do. Both gentlemen were polite and professional but they charged me $309 even though they didn't really do much. I understand paying for their time to come by and look things over but they charged me the same as the quote even though they didn't really fix anything. read more

Solely based on my experience with Kenny and his services. I hired him to patch holes and paint my house. Do note that I will never hire him again for a few reasons: his work wasn't good and I don't reside in maryland anymore. Also, my home's value was depreciated after his work due to the immense damage he caused to my hardwood floors. Pros: easy going, willing to learn, showed up on time Cons: incompetent, inexperienced, doesn't check over his work thoroughly, had to be "babysat" to make sure he got to everything, made a huge mess of my house, works alone and is dependent on someone he knows for a ride--making his entrance and exit dependent on others. In hiring Kenny for this job, he was the first person to reply and I was on a time crunch, so I take full responsibility for hiring him and accepting his work... with that in mind, my review of his services will be as objective as possible. He first showed up on Friday around 6:30PM, but didn't bring anything with him. He had to go to Home Depot shortly after getting to my house, but fortunately I lived pretty close to it. He spackled most of the holes, but didn't purchase enough and said he would come back. He charged me $700 for this. No big deal because he came out pretty late anyways. He was supposed to be at my house on Monday following a long weekend, but he ultimately decided that he needed to reschedule. I had to reach out to him to find this out. He came by the next morning to start working on spackle. He got that done and moved onto painting. Regarding this, he was a bit unfocused. He started in one area, then move to another. I decided to check on the first area and identified areas that he missed on both spackle and/or paint. His spackle work wasn't very good, it was bumpy. Before moving too much forward, I noticed that he bought the wrong paint roller and tray. The roller was too big for the tray. Next, he didn't have any mats to lay on the floor. It wasn't too big of a deal at first because he was painting my garage walls. But the. When he moved into the house, it actually became a huge issue. He spilled so much paint on my hardwood floors that they were overall damaged beyond repair. Before he left, he assured me that the paint should come up, but it really didn't. It ingrained itself into the wood. I asked him about mats, but he didn't know anything about it. He also didn't know how to use painters tape, which I found out when he was working in the bedrooms. He just painted, and dripped colored paint on white trim or white paint on the colored walls. He also got plenty of paint onto the carpet. He didn't even know how to use painters tape to effectively prevent two differently colored areas from coming in contact with different paint colors, He painted over an Ethernet cable that was wired into the house, ruining the RJ-45 jack. He didn't sand down any damaged paint before painting over it, essentially leaving the area to still look damaged. I mentioned that I had to babysit him. I did this mostly when he was working in the bedrooms. In some cases, I helped him paint because he just kept missing spots and his job was effectively spot painting. At the very end, he painted a chunk of my wall that I directed him to, because he missed it. He painted the chunk gray, but the wall was all white. He didn't look it over. I noticed it and had him "fix" it. So he painted over it. I thought it was fine, but the gray still popped, which I noticed after he left. So that chunk of wall is a muted gray and looks absolutely crazy. He washed out the paint pan at the end of the day in my kitchen sink. I said it was okay as long as he didn't get any paint in my baby's portable bottle sink, which sat inside the kitchen sink. That's exactly what happened, he got paint in there and I had to through away the sink and bottles because I don't want that residue on my baby's things. I paid him $2100 for that day's work. A lot of what I noticed should've been enough to fire him on the spot because his work was terrible. He had no idea how to really paint or spackle. I wish I took pictures. I sold my house and just accepted the loss on the terrible work. read more
