Come time for my appointment dr Spencer decided to try and pull out my crown with his fingers without saying anything first then appeared surprised and unhappy that that action startled and scared me, he continued to explain to us that he didn't have time and we needed to schedule another appointment. We scheduled that appointment as a consultation and had been there for maybe 10 minutes at most. I asked for him to look at my teeth instead of repeatedly explaining trust because the time it took him to talk would be enough to glance at my teeth which is all I was asking. When he would not look at my teeth in the appointment scheduled for him to look at and do a consult for my teeth We decided to leave and not return as he made it clear verballyand in actions he couldn't or would not help. This appointment caused further trauma and was extremely unprofessional. However his dental assistant was lovely and kind I wish her the best in her career.

With Wisconsin being my home, a random dentist office in northeast Montana wouldnt usually be my first choice. After the interaction I had though- I certainly would make it first. After calling numerous dental offices to inquire about a tooth extraction, this office was the first to help that offered Care Credit. Not being totally sure where I was going to be, but hopeful on location, I ended up scheduling an appointment here. They were ON IT with trying to get me in ASAP, aiming to get the situation dealt with same day, same time (meaning new patient visit, x-ray and extraction). The woman who helped me was SO KIND and SO COMPASSIONATE. I wish I remembered her name. This place is as solid as can be in the type of world we live in today. While I ended up not actually making it to the appointment due to several, spontaneous factors, this place far supersedes dental offices even close to my area. This place definitely deserves the glowing reviews. If I ever am in the area and need emergency dental work, this will be the place I go. You guys made a poopy situation easy to deal with. While service wasn't on my side this time, yours certainly was. Thank you so much for everything you do.

By the time I could get in a second tooth had also broken. I should have walked the second she suggested pulling my teeth as an option. I'm in my 40's. Why on Earth would I want any teeth pulled?! Foolishly, I stayed and followed her suggestion of, "Waiting for the rest of the teeth to break off," to do crowns. Fast forward a few months and one of the teeth has broken off more and is jagged and cutting my tongue. I made another appointment and at said appointment, Amy looked me over and said she'd get me in to do a crown. The problem arises when she schedules me out for 2 months. During those two months, the tooth breaks off completely and I'm in agony. I called for an emergency appointment. The receptionist called and left a message saying they had a cancellation and can get me in the next morning. I call back leave a message, as no one ever answers the phone here, and say I'll take the spot. I request a call back to ensure I have the slot. I received no callback and arrived the next morning only to have the receptionist tell me they filled the spot with someone else and that she had "just now called and left a message". I was sent away. Defeated and in pain, I go home and wait for my emergency appointment on Friday. At that appointment, Amy said that my tooth now needs a root canal because the nerve is exposed. I can't help but feel that if she'd gotten me in sooner this wouldn't have occurred. Worse, Amy can't do the root canal. She sent me home that Friday with 10 pain pills and said she'd contact her endodontics guy on Monday and be in touch. I suffered all weekend long. The pain pills lasted until mid-Saturday (taking 1 every 4 hrs). Not only did I have to deal with the added expense of a crown and the excruciating pain of waiting, but I also had to miss 3 days of work because of the pain (I work weekends)! On Monday, the Endodontics guy called and got me in quickly. I got a root canal and a temporary crown and have a follow-up appointment with Amy for a permanent crown. That appointment was scheduled for June 4 at 8:30a. On June 3 at 3pm, I called Amy's office and left a message--her office has this new trend of never answering the telephone, EVER! I leave a message requesting a call back to verify my appointment for the following morning. I don't want a repeat of being turned away. This morning on June 4, I arrived for my crown appointment 15 minutes early. At reception, I am told that I am not on the schedule?! Again, the receptionist says, "I was just about to call you back". She says they have no appointment for me, so I hand her the appointment card--it's their business card that THEY fill out when you get an appointment showing the date and time. She looks it over, grabs my chart, and tells me that it "just didn't get scheduled" and asks if I had previously called to reschedule it. I did not. She then asks if I wish to get a new appointment on the schedule. No. No, I do not! When I showed up for my initial appointment in April with my broken tooth, I went in as soon as it happened to get it fixed ASAP to avoid having it get worse and having to endure excruciating pain. But that's exactly what I got! I was unheard and unimportant. I was pushed to the back burner and repeatedly showed up for appointments and then sent away because this office is incompetent. I was in agony because Amy was indifferent. I endured an additional $1700 root canal because this office pushed my care back too far. Today was the last straw. After months of sub-standard care, I not only do not recommend this dentist, but I also highly recommend that if you don't want to be ignored and swept aside that you avoid her office at all costs. You'd have to be a sadist to want to endure the added costs and physical agony that come with receiving "care" here. I believe that she's overloaded with patients so instead of giving good medical care to some, she's giving shitty medical care to many. Buyer beware!

My old dentist used to clean my teeth himself in all of 15 minutes. The trained dental hygienists at River's Edge are experienced, gentle and thorough, and, as a result, my family's dental health has improved dramatically. I have read the few negative reviews and, I can tell you, that has not been my family's experience at all. Dr. Alan, Dr. Dave and their staff have always been welcoming, friendly and understanding and I would give them my HIGEST RATING. All in a new, modern dental building with the newest dental equipment and an amazing view! If you're looking for a new dentist or a good cleaning, drive to River's edge, see the facility and talk with Dr. Alan Currie or Dr. David Currie and their staff. I know you will be impressed because I always am, every time I walk in the door.

I had enough of a tooth left for it to be crowned as also stated by another dentist. I am just like many other patients that do not understand some procedure names. I didn't know that a partial was basically a denture. I was under the impression that it was another name for a crown (a temporary replacement). I was never explained to about what a partial tooth was. I went in that day with excitement and got into the truck silent the whole ride home with tears pouring down my face unable to tell my husband what was wrong. I don't smile anymore, I barely leave home in order to avoid speaking to people. My life changed for the worst that day. The partial no longer fits. I now have bad anxiety at the thought of going to any dentist. I was so happy to be a patient of Dr. Maltby and ever since then I've been broken. An implant is the only option I have left and its just too much on me. I really hoped he'd fix this but after seeing and hearing how disappointed I was. I'm stuck with what was given to me. I had a second tooth that he suggested I get extracted somewhere else. Another dentist that does the extractions examined the tooth and told me the tooth could be saved. So he saved it and put a crown on it. Not to mention, nearly all of my fillings are gone and now I have worse problems. I'm still heartbroken and still feel like Dr. Maltby should have fixed this depressing situation out of the kindness of his heart and because he caused me to fall into a state of depression. He was the only dentist in Great Falls, Montana that I grew to trust and feel comfortable with.
