This place looked very promising based on the reviews, but unfortunately the experience was…read moredisappointing from the moment we walked in. The host greeted us with a very sour attitude and was anything but welcoming. She slammed our silverware onto the table and immediately made everyone in our party feel uncomfortable. The food was average at best, and the menus were sticky with grease, which didn't leave a great impression. To top it off, the wine glasses were so thick they reminded me of my grandmother's eyeglasses. Overall, it just wasn't a pleasant dining experience, and I wouldn't return.

Since the previous one star review of several years ago, the Lexington Golf Course has undergone a…read morechange of management, much for the better. The food is very good, reasonably priced and inventive. Members can go for burgers, or a full restaurant meal. The employees are extremely helpful and nice - they go the extra mile. We enjoy going for the view as well and the nice people. The restaurant welcomes and often has young children accompanying adults. Some events are open to the general public. Of course, the prime draw for a country club is the golf course. This is an older well maintained course - a little short by new club standards but great for the regular golfer. It is open to the public. They had the ladies eastern amateur championship here in 2015 and the young women thought the course was tough. The condition often depends on the weather conditions and can get a bit burned out in mid to late summer depending on the rainfall, despite being irrigated. The golf staff is always helpful and friendly. I just wish they had more lessons to help the marginal adult players as golf is a frustrating game. The club has set up special lessons for the young and we often see a group going out for tutoring on late afternoons with a patient staff member.

We were looking for a place to have a small intimate wedding prior to a destination wedding for the family. The staff at the golf club were absolutely fabulous. They worked with us on menus (prime beef, chicken marsala, salmon) that were extraordinary, an outdoor ceremony with beautiful views, a private newly renovated reception room, and full set-up/clean up. To say we were impressed is an understatement. The food was really delicious (craving the chicken marsala ever since the event), the atmosphere and views were amazing, and the staff (Bob, Lauren, Susan) extremely easy to work with and very helpful and friendly. The day was a huge success and I had no worries about the venue and service based on prior coordination. The day of the event, the staff felt like family. The chef, who was fabulous, came out to check on us. What a terrific group of people. We were very happy with everything and would definitely recommend the golf course for private events.

The owner, Evan, is very kind and personable and it's clear he wants to encourage a positive gaming community in Lynchburg. He's also a great businessman, which is essential because when a business does good, I really want them to flourish and stick around. All the employees here are likewise kind, funny, and helpful- I've never felt ignored or treated poorly at all. The space has restrooms, cheap sodas and Gatorade, gorgeous dice sets, card packs, TTRPG books, and more. I've now played a few Lorcana casual league and tournament events here, and Dragon Fire Games has definitely succeeded in fostering a safe and inclusive space for gamers (especially us older-aged gamers and newbies). I wish I was able to hang out here more often (and that the games didn't go so very late, for me), but I'm very grateful to have found this place and for Evan's continued management of the space. Definitely come check it out!
