I had a couch and a recliner to discard. We have 38 stairs plus a steep ramp from the street up to our house. There are several tight twists and turns on the stairs. Junkcat responded immediately to my call and scheduled a pickup for 2 days. They gave us a 2 hr window, and called 15 minutes before arriving. The truck and the men were very professional. TL;DR: Five stars- I'll definitely choose Junkcat for my future junk removal needs. I'm in the process of fixing and/or cleaning up some questionable "additions" to my house made by the previous homeowner, and needed to have a bunch of wood, the remains of a busted-up concrete slab, and some miscellaneous metal bits removed after demolition. I requested a quote from Nick on a Saturday afternoon; he got back to me in about ten minutes, and a couple of messages and pictures later, I had a very reasonably-priced quote and a scheduled arrival window for Monday. Super easy and convenient. Nick and a crew member arrived when they said they would (wearing masks and gloves, and having texted me ~15 minutes before arriving to let me know they were on their way), and worked quickly and efficiently to get the demolition debris loaded up. This is an overdue review for a really great experience. A while back, my husband and I decided to take on some home demo work ourselves and realized part way through we had way more debris than we would be able to manage--especially since we were hoping to leave on vacation the next afternoon. JunkCat was the first of three companies we called and Nick was the most responsive and organized. He gave me a quote based on photos I sent but when his team showed up that afternoon, the pile had grown. A few weeks back I used 1800-GotJunk to haul out a load of trash from the driveway and they were ok and got the job done quick, but pretty pricey ($400 for a little over half a truck load, plus they were about 45 minutes late). Immediately after using that service I began noticing JUNKCAT's truck around El Cerrito (where I live) a couple of times and it stuck out to me because we are still renovating and cleaning out years of accumulated junk in our home. My mom asked me to look into hiring Nick for the next round of hauling because he's a local business owner and very active in our community; so I gave him a call today to get a quote. As it turned out, he offered a 10% discount and so for a full truck load it only cost me $315! I also called him around 1pm and he was here before 3pm SAME DAY. Wahoo! He was also very polite and professional. The only constructive criticism I would have is that there was a little random debris that had scattered during hauling that I wish would have been push broom swept back into the remaining pile o' crap but no biggie.
