Selvin the team lead is a true craftsman, knows his stuff, and clearly takes pride in the quality of his work. Others on the team worked equally hard and they have all been with Calabrese for at least 10 years. I called their people out multiple times to get it fixed, which only ended up being a temporary solution. After a year, it's also gapping on the sides. I called the owner several times to get him out here to fix it. He said we should have bought hardwood (for the kitchen?) because they nail down the flooring. The main level flexes where the most walking occurs, so because we bought that, the gapping is our fault (what??). He could have informed us of that in his original quote and we would have purchased a fix so this wouldn't have been an issue. He said since it was over a year, he could have someone come out to fix it at a discount, but was pretty terrible at getting back to me with any date/times. We also have mis-matched pieces because they didn't get the right color for one or two boxes. They did a wonderful job with the hardwood on the stairs and the stain matching for the quarter round. I still wouldn't recommend them or work with them again. I'm having to hire a new contractor to completely replace the floors on the main level. I'm out $3000+

When we first moved in, we made the old basement work (but it was dusty, dirty, covered in chipped paint). Previously it was a child's playroom, but then due to flooding and more, became worn down, mold infested, and drafty. As part of a larger project to restore the unfinished basement to a suitable nature, we wanted to redo the floors. It was tough to find somebody on short notice who had an understanding of our situation and was flexible. Donnie was both. First, I so appreciated his ease of working. These days, I work by phone, email, and text. Donnie was comfortable managing all three, which I think makes him the ideal contractor to younger folks like myself. Second, he was always communicative about when his team would be on-site, about the expectations related to the project (which made it super easy to plan. Third, he and his team, were so kind and committed to the work. The end result of all these things is that you get a fabulous product and along the way get to meet great people. I HIGHLY recommend Donnie if you're looking to redo a garage or basement floor. We had him "chip" the basement, which involved grinding down the old floor (1-1.5 days), cleaning up, and painting/chipping the new floor (1 day), and then sealing (1 day). We also had him patch a hole in the ceiling where our shower pipe had leaked. He helped us with paint matching and now the ceiling is as good as new.
