        History

        Established in 2012.

        Jun Lin opened as a small massage centre in Magnet Court, Sandy Bay in April 2012. Since then we have grown to become the largest massage and day spa in Hobart, opening our second location in Elizabeth St Mall in Hobart in March 2014 with our third location to open in Rosny in July 2016. We now offer a larger variety of services including facials, body scrubs, geisha tub hydrotherapy treatments, treatment capsule for mud wraps.

        Meet the Business Owner: Jing M.

        Jing's grandfather was a Chinese medicine doctor and she grew up around massage and acupuncture. From her grandfather she has always had an interest and knowledge of traditiona chinese medicine principals and has worked in China and Japan as a massage therapist prior to opening Jun Lin. Jing founded Jun Lin after seeing a gap in the Hobart market for good quality massage services focusing on traditional chinese massage principles.

      I thought it only fair to give an update on my experience with Escape Beauty - I emailed a copy of…read moremy comments about the Salon to them in case they were unware of what had happened. I virtually got a response immediately - which I was very pleased to receive. The owner of the business 'Effie' was incredibly sincere, empathetic and professional, when she apologised to me and explained that this sort of experience had never happened previously at the Salon. Effie then went onto explain to me that their policy is for their clients to always be completely satisfied and that she would be more than happy to refund me the full amount of what I had paid ($150). I am especially pleased to say that Effie followed through on her word and I did receive the refund paid directly into my bank account. As a result it will be my pleasure to go back to Escape Beauty next time I am in Hobart and have another facial. Cheers p.s. Many thanks again Effie.

      Here's a place where the staff know what they're doing…read more I've been troubled by some back issues in the last couple of years, so I decided it was time to treat myself to a few massages under the guise of remedial therapy. It couldn't hurt, right? It's basically what the physio does for some sessions I've been to, anyway... and my private health fund covers a bit, too, so why not? I put the word out on twitter for some remedial massage recommendations from locals and a friend in the know pointed me toward the Massage Centre, so I called up and booked in. The Centre's open long hours so it was easy for me to get an appointment, though after going there a few times now I can tell you if you get your heart set on a particular masseuse then booking your appointments can get trickier. The Centre's so well staffed because there are so many different masseurs all working on different rosters! I'm happy to recommend Atholl, who talks his way through your session but not in an awkward way... in fact, it's thanks to a few sessions with Atholl that I have a renewed appreciation for and awe of the machine that is my body. Atholl's knowledge of everything he's doing and his own appreciation for the way the body works and the way he's learnt to manipulate and work with muscles and the brain is fascinating to listen to, and I've even learnt a thing or two. Plus, you get a jellybean at the end.
