You struggle to get an appointment even when they know you are sick and have been there recently and the doctor has told you to come back. One receptionist is downright unhelpful and a smile would be out of the question. If they are full, that's all they say and have no options for you. Today is the last straw. I got a call to say that my daughters appointment on Monday for her 2nd flu shot can't go ahead because they have run out. Perhaps someone there can't count. You would think that they would save her one as she had made the appointment and received her first shot over 2 weeks ago. It was suggested that I run around to find a replacement. Perhaps a bit of running around or accountability their end. Any other business would be out of business by now!

The waiting area is calm and they even have The Age to read (which is a nice change from other places where having nothing to read by 3-month-old issues of WHO Weekly tend to make you feel worse!). This practice uses electronic health records so you can see any doctor and they have all your background info up there on the screen. If needed, you can call back to get test results and the doctors give you time on the phone. Top-notch - get in their and enjoy the family-oriented service they provide so well!

The Doctors of Northcote practice seems to be more into business generation than provision of…read morehealthcare services. Repeated unecessary appointments are made by these GP's to generate additional appointments which they charge for. There is excessive waiting times, however they are very quick to charge for excessive fees if you miss an appointment. The GP's are constantly changing and few stay employed at this practice for very long. There is very little continuity of care. Some GP's have demonstrated very average clinical assessment skills (I am a health professional myself) Reception staff are robotic and not encouraged to think critically. My complaints fell on deaf ears so I have chosen to make them public. Seriously, if its medical attention you need, go elsewhere!
