I guess you get what you pay for when I was ready to return the dang thing or throw it in the garbage! It sounded like a nail on a blackboard! I was looking for a possible one last hail Mary by bringing the violin to a music store to see if it is worth salvaging or not, when I discovered Sattari Musical instruments on Topanga Blvd. No one was at the store when I stopped by, so I called the number listed on the site and spoke with the owner, Moe. He was very gracious and apologized for no one being there and immediately dispatched Armon who arrived within minutes. Armon quickly tuned and adjusted the violin and bow and said it was worth keeping, all at no charge! I left the store with a beautiful sounding violin! I now know where to go should I need further assistance with this instrument. I highly recommend Sattari with Moe and Armon!

He was professional and I really appreciated how carefully he evaluated my antique violin and bows. He repaired a couple top cracks, removed unnecessary old fillers, and made a custom bridge. He also trimmed and fitted the pegs, smoothed the fingerboard, and re-haired and cleaned up both of my bows. The body of the violin was also thoroughly cleaned and given some much-needed attention. What impressed me most was the quality of the work and the very reasonable price for everything that was done. He even sent me the picture of the inside which I had never seen before! It's was great to find someone with this level of experience and craftsmanship who is also honest, friendly, and fair with pricing. I just played my violin for the first time since getting it back and the sound has been restored to the beautiful brilliance I knew it to have. I'm very happy with the results and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and trustworthy luthier.

While I appreciated being refunded for it, it was disappointing that it was unavailable. Additionally, another item listed as new was actually an open-floor model. I do want to thank Diane for reaching out to inform me about this and offering a discount, though I ultimately chose to decline that item. The rest of my items were processed quickly and arrived promptly. However, I was disappointed with the packaging quality. An expensive music box intended as a gift was shipped without any bubble wrap or protective securing--it was simply placed loose in the box alongside a music stand bag. Fortunately, it arrived without obvious damage, but better care should be taken when packaging fragile items.
