Mind…read moreyou, it isn't as if Arnhem is a big place, but still this bar does have a huge amount of character, and quite a few decent beers on tap as well. Mind you, since I was in Arnhem I had to find out which was the number one bar, visit it, and write a review on it, which is obviously what I have just done. Mind you, it was pretty crowded, but then again it was a Thursday night, and summer. The atmosphere was electric, and they even had a pool table (something that I hadn't seen in many, if any, or the other bars that I have visited so far). The other thing is that it is not located in the major part of the old town, but still this bar does draw a fair number of partons.

Well, I decided to stick my head down a narrow alley and discovered this small bar advertising craft beers. Well, having just been in Germany for a week and having to deal with a less than impressive range of beers (and no craft beers) I ducked in here, and sure enough they had a pretty impressive range of craft beers. Mind you, the place isn't all that large, and while there are some seats out the front, there aren't actually that many, however it is the beer than drew me here, and they certainly provided that. Further more, this was a taste of what I have later come to experience in the Netherlands

Actually, it turned out it wasn't, I was just misreading the app, but it didn't necessarily mean that this was actually a bad bar, it just wasn't the best. Actually, it is more like a cafe, namely the ones that do coffee and beer and are open all hours of the night. Mind you, it is more like a Dutch version of an old mans pub, or that was the feeling that I got, but it was still a decent place for a beer.

Okay, the pub really didn't stand out in the same way that some of the trendier, and more popular bars, do, but it still had its character, and I have to admit that my time here was really well spent, namely because one of the patrons introduced himself to me and we then spent the rest of the night talking about stuff. It is these pubs that while they might not be anything spectacular, they do make you feel welcome, especially if you happen to a be a stranger.

After reaching closing time at a nearby bar, my group of friends and I headed over to The Cavern…read moresince it is open til 4am. It's a cool, little divey bar located in one of the historic cellars of Arnhem. The Cavern has a nice selection of beer on tap, but an even better cocktail list. I've been to the Cavern three or four times, and they always have great music playing. I want their playlist! The Cavern is a good place to grab and drink, catch up with friends, and dance.This is especially true if all the other places have closed!

On the walls you can see funny things from allover the world. The beer is pretty well and other drinks are ok, too. The prices for drinks are not too high. Its a quite long way to the toilet so you have to go early! :-)
