The Landschaftspark Nord is an old Thyssen Steel mill and the former Bunker area has been transfermed into a climbing arena that is second to none. Raw concrete left to its natural decay. So while the securing bolts are checked, the rest of the routes changes over time. It is fun to visit again and again. Prices are low (if you are checked at all) and the are is open at all times. So even climbing at night is possible. However the routes with a ceiling are limited - so when its raining, climbing is too. In this case, just walk around the park. It is an experience by itself. If you want to go there and have no car - take the tram 903 from Duisburg main station and step of at Landschaftspark Nord - Then it is a short walk (15-20mins) and you are there. Das erste deutsche Erlebnisbad mit einzigartigem Bergbau- Ambiente garantiert großen und kleinen Besuchern tagtäglich einen unvergesslichen Badespaß. Unterteilt ist der AQUApark in drei verschiedene Reviere. Das Sport-, das Erlebnis-und das Freibad-Revier. In jedem der Reviere befindet sich ein 25-Meter-Becken, in dem sich Schwimmer nach Herzenslust auspowern und verschiedene Schwimmtechniken trainieren können. Für den richtigen Spaß sorgt ein 18 Meter hoher Förderturm mit einer Speed-Rutsche. Dieser befindet sich unter einer Glaskuppel, die sich nach Belieben bis zu einem Viertel öffnen lässt. Ein Erlebnisbecken mit Sprudel-Liegen und Strömungskanal sorgt ebenfalls für Spaß und Entspannung im Revierbad. Zwei XXL-Whirpools bieten zudem die Möglichkeit, sich beim Aufenthalt im AQUApark richtig entspannen zu können. Und auch kleine Besucher kommen im Erlebnisbad auf ihre Kosten. Denn die Kindererlebnislandschaft bietet zahlreiche Attraktionen. Dazu zählt unter anderem der "Tagschacht", der mit 120 Metern die längste X-Tube-Rutsche Nordrhein-Westfalens ist. Tickets are very cheap (5 Euro). You can get for another 3 Euro a fancy country style trolley to carry a stuff and kids together. My daughter asked me why they don't invent it in UK theme parks? A lots of room for barbeque and family party. Don't forget to take own drinks and food. We had an amazing afternoon here just shortened by the summer storm and rain. I definitely will come back here with family. I recommend it to everyone.

There are no electronic rides, it's all about old fashioned water fun or pedal objects & slides. The highest slide is a real thrill even for adults!!! The area is huge and queues were small, so we spent all day and didn't manage to do everything. Kids just ran wild and had heaps of fun. We ate food there which was extremely cheap, Frankfurter & Chips for 1.50 Euro, Coke/Fanta all 1.00 Euro etc. I think for the price, you'll be hard pushed to get any better value! Best ages for kids would be 5-13 I guess. Try and pick a nice day and bring swimming trunks and towels as you/they will get wet! I was burried by my kids under tons of dry corn, we made our own water feature out of guttering, and patted are a few small animals too. Everything to make it enjoyable for all children. My top tip would be to bring your own food to BBQ as they have BBQs everywhere you can make use of for free. You can rent a little cart for 3 Euro deposit to put everything in and pull it along. We'll be back next summer!
