Let me start by saying if your looking for an immigration attorney my heart goes out to you and your family because your about to live a nightmare called the US Immigration System! Before choosing an attorney my first piece of advice is do your research on ICE, Homeland Security, Department of Justice and read the 1994 Immigration Act and how it pertains to your loved ones charges. Know exactly what your charged with and how it applies to whether your here legally or illegally, trust me there is a difference. Know before you go! I met with 5 lawyers before meeting with Miss Marty and our case was almost hopeless and as complicated as could be. My brother was a 40 year LPR with an aggravated felony and a long criminal history. My brother was taken into ICE custody and brought to San Diego Federal Prison. Every lawyer I met with including Miss Marty advised us that it was almost impossible to win our case and we would have to make the decision to take the chance and fight. Don't fool your self in thinking that anything is definite when it comes to the US Immigration System, it doesn't matter who your lawyer is. Miss Marty came to us as a referral from an inmate in LA County Jail. He had informed my brother that she had represented him twice and won on both occasions. Four of the lawyers I met with wanted to charge us nearly $15,000 to take our case. Miss Marty charged us $6200. She also stated that she would apply to transfer the case from San Diego to Los Angeles and if that was approved she would reduce her fees by $2700. After 6 months of back and forth between LA County Jail and ICE that was finally approved and even though I had no documentation she honored her verbal contract and reduced the fee. Due to my financial situation she was willing to accept a payment plan as long as it was paid by the last hearing. If you want someone who will care and not waste your money, she's a good choice. She is upfront and doesn't mince words. My/our experience with immigration was an emotional, frustrating nightmare and Miss Marty's staff was incredibly patient and understanding during my emotional breakdown phone calls to the office. Misael the gentlemen who answers the phone always maintained his professionalism as I vented my frustration with the system. And Michelle who processed our statements for trial was incredibly empathetic, caring and patient. Our case over several months required several court appearances and what I witnessed in court was a well respected attorney. I refer to Judith Marty as Miss Marty due to the respect given to her by the judges and the governments attorneys. Bottom line for our family Miss Marty and her staff saved my brothers life. After nearly a two year bitter battle with ICE, Homeland Security, Department of Justice and Immigration Court my brother is home. Against all odds, we made the decision to gamble and fight my brothers deportation and because of Miss Marty, Misael and Michelle, We Won. read more
