I have been a patient for many years. Treatment was good and I enjoyed the dogs in the facility (open mouths and pet hair questionable), however, recently I was surprised that I needed 3 crowns replaced ASAP.
I knew I was running low on insurance money and asked them to Preauthorize the cost (as they always do). I reiterated that I was not interested in paying out of pocket (never will) and would wait for my new annual insurance benefits if necessary (October). They told me I was good for 2 of the 3 crowns so I scheduled the work.
All went well then BOOM.....An $865 bill; that second crown was too much; I was out of insurance funds and the rest was my responsibility. I explained that (as always), they had pre authorized the costs, how could this happen? I was told it was my responsibility to check my insurance, not theirs and payment was due.
They are right.....it is my responsibility but they told me they had checked, that 2 crowns were good to go.....and I trusted them. Sadly, they offered no further input and I owe them $865, which I will pay. I have changed dentist as I need to trust what I am told....and a good service provider should know when they have made a mistake and admit it.
My message to you....do not trust everything they say and watch the pet hair! read more
