First thing to know, Downtown Omaha is kind of a grocery store desert - or at least that was the impression I got from my visit. We were travelling with our toddler and while I KNOW she should be 100% off bottles, we are picking our fights and she still enjoys one with her milk in the morning and in the evening. That being said, we only brought two bottles and planned on cleaning them as we went. Our only problem was we forgot dish soap. After asking the front desk where would be the easiest place to find some they recommended Cubby's and they were right! While you pay convenience store prices, it was easy to pick up what we needed and they had a few options which was nice. The store itself has a good variety of food, snacks, odds and ends, and likely serves as a little grocer for anyone who lives nearby. I wouldn't say I loved this place so much I would definitely return, but I will say it was clean, had what we needed, and was conveneint, which really was about all I could ask for in a nearby convenience store.

I go to Cubby's fairly often, since it's what we have for a grocery store in the Old Market…read more Obviously prices are going to be higher here for most things than they would be if you went out of the Old Market. It can be kind of hectic in there sometimes, but staff are nice and keep things going. They have a nice meat counter. Also they serve a large variety of prepared or ready-to-prepare gas-station foods such as chicken, sandwiches, and Godfather's pizza. They also have some nice cheeses and things if you want to be a little more fancy. I like that they have some vintage items from former local restaurants on display. Gives it a unique feel that's appropriate to this historic area. They sell gas here, too. I've never bought it because I have an EV, which honestly is not at all convenient to have in the Old Market; it would be easier to purchase gas here than it is to access a charger in this part of town.

Super decent rest stop along the way home from Omaha. They really do have just about everything you…read moreneed from clean restrooms to a fully operational subway inside. We stopped here because of the subway and wanting something that wasn't a burger on our route home from spring break. I'm taking away one star because the signage here was kind of bad. I saw there was a Subway just off the highway but when you exit the Subway sign was pretty small/ nearly impossible to see. When I plugged "subway" into my maps it wanted us to drive another couple of miles into the next town. We were honestly pretty confused so I came here to Yelp to gain some clarity and through reviews and photos saw that there was indeed a subway inside of Trail's End. I'm only mentioning this as it is a big selling point for a family like ours travelling and it was a bit of a hassle to figure out where we were going. Maybe it's just us, but it took way more effort than it should have to make sure we were in the right place. All of that being said, once we found our way inside and got to the subway it was great, the rest stop itself is great, and you can't go wrong with the stop. I just hope someone improves their signage!

Today I went in too, and was pleasantly surprised by the array of goods available in this store. It's known as the C Store on several sites. It has a good selection of essentials such as ibuprofen and other first aid type things. There are automotive needs, groceries such as soup and frozen foods, pre made sandwiches, salads, lots of drinks, clothing, and various gifts. Onsite Chester's fried chicken, caramels, fudge and Subway are also available. Limited seating means you can eat inside if you want. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, plus you can fill up the gas tank too. As I said, a pleasant surprise.
