I contacted Jan for a quote on heat pumps and to remove all cloth wiring from my 1940's home back in 2022.  The wiring in my house was a mishmash of ungrounded cloth wiring from the 40's and newer thermoplastic wires with the ground wires clipped, and all sorts of other unsafe anomalies he corrected for me. Jan was able to rewire my entire home from basement to attic in several sessions spanning 4 months.  During the project, he was able to install arc fault interrupters on circuits with cloth wiring to ensure the current wiring was not an imminent arc or fire hazard.  In the process, he found fully active exposed wires abandoned in walls in several places, modern wiring with clipped ground wires, an active outlet in my attic amidst a bunch of insulation, the entire upstairs wiring of my house was junctioned ABOVE my shower, etc!  My home was a shock and fire hazard waiting to happen! I am so thankful Jan was able to enthusiastically take on such a project.  Other electricians in the area ignored my inquiries completely or provided outlandish quotes for the work.  Jan was flexible, super easy to work with, and able to visit on days when he had availability even during his busy season.
