I've lived in Brixton for years and always used the flower seller outside of the station but always said that I should try the little place on Brixton Hill. So on Christmas Eve, I trundled down there to get some eucalyptus and other greenery which I like to decorate the house with at xmas, mainly because it smells delicious and looks great in the right vase. However, I was told I couldnt' have that "because it's there for bouquets and not to be sold on it's own". I explained that i don't want any flowers, just greenery and she walked off and just said "no"!
It was 4pm on xmas eve, I can't imagine they were opening much longer and would be surprised if they were going to open again for a few days so I am just baffled by the service.
Having spotted lots of glitter coated pine cones in there, minimalist flower arrangement obviously isn't their thing, bt surely you should serve a customer what they want rather than turning away business on what i imagine has been quite a tough year for them.
Anyway, I went down to my trusty guy by the station and spent my money with him instead, which I will continue to do. read more
