Love the store and the ladies who work there. Very patient and really listened. Great selection…read moreand great experience!

Read if you're thinking of going here!…read more Rude rude lady. Came here on vacation to try and find a gown for my friend and this lady (who I later find out was part owner) was not helpful. Her tone was very rude from the beginning. During the time my friend was looking at dresses, she tells her, "don't stretch the dress out." My friend was literally just holding the dress open to see how wide it was, like any normal person. As soon as my friend finished trying on a dress and decided she didn't want it, we came to the lobby to discuss where we were about to go next, and the lady comes right behind us telling us we're about to close so y'all need to leave (not in a nice or professional manner). My friend asked, "y'all close at 5 right?" The lady responds back to us by saying we operate by appt only, y'all need to leave. So now that she is giving us straight attitude. I told her to give us a second. She repeated herself again, and tells us "goodbye" in like a leave tone of voice. So they literally kicked us out to the curb. We were standing there for 1 minute when she was trying to tell us to leave. Like you can't stand in a store for a few minutes. Mind you, there was no one else there, so we weren't tying her time up or anything. I would go somewhere else for your dresses. Plus she made it super clear, they don't do alterations. She has no idea where they do alterations. She has no idea where a mall is. So yes. Stay away from here. Horrible service. Wish I could tell your her name, but she refused to answer. As I'm writing this outside (because we were waiting on our Uber), a different lady comes out and asks me if I want a business card. I said sure. She was very confrontational. I asked her if the lady inside that kicked us out was the owner. She said they both are. So I was like well y'all have a funny of treating your customers. I told her the lady informed us that this was by appointment only a store, and that we were not aware of that. But nothing on their website says by appointment only. She said, "we prefer by appt only," so I said well that's different than kicking your customer out (after your let them look for a dress) and tell your customers that your by appt only... not preferably. I told her we're from out of town and just needed find a dress last minute so we did not know that, and that's no reason to treat your customers like that. She goes on to continue arguing with me and tell me, "well the other out of town people seem to know." You see where I'm going with this?? Like who argues with there customer and talks disrespectful to them? No business I go to. I wasn't going to stand there and argue with this rude person any longer, who was clearly not apologetic for the way her business partner treated us, so I tried waking away. She kept trying to argue as I was leaving and I told her to shut up. So she walked out of her business, propped the door, and began following me like she was going to fight me. I continued to walk away with my other friends as she was threatening me. I had to tell her I was going to call the cops, and she finally backed off. This is the worst experience I've ever had. A business owner verbally disrespectful, excusing her behavior instead of apologizing for it, and then following me out on the street to fight? If that isn't enough to steer you away from here, then good luck. You'll be in for a real... experience.

I went to Joy's Bridal and Formal wear by mistake while meaning to go to the Red Carpet. Don't make…read morethe same mistake that I did!!! My one star rating is not due to the availability of what I was looking for which was a specific color blue bridal dress for my sister's wedding which they had but instead due to the horrible customer service and extremely poor attitude of the individual that hung up on my mother when she called to address an issue with my dress. I live out of state. I flew into town for my sister's wedding, tried on my dress that I had purchased elsewhere and didn't like the fit so I googled local area shops that sold wedding or prom dresses...two popped up in Sikeston, Mo. The Red Carpet which had great reviews and Joy's. I headed up to Sikeston with the intention on going to Red Carpet and even had it in my Gps so they must be very close together. I saw a bridal store so I parked and ran in. I showed the lady (a very very nice helpful lady with very good customer service skills-not the same one that hung up on my mother) the dress I didn't like and she found one that matched very quickly. I tried it on and she assisted. She was awesome! I liked it and purchased it for $226. I was in and out in 15 minutes... My kind of shopping. Well, I get dressed for the wedding and head off to the church. When I get there a few women point out something stitched into the bottom of my dress on the outermost layer in the front; so clearly visible. The word "sample" was stitched into the bottom of the dress. I was informed that the word should not be there and I shouldn't have been sold a sample dress. I hadn't even notice but for $226 I figured I'd at least ask Joy's to order the regular dress that I should have received because I just assumed it was an honest mistake that they sold me a dress with the word sample printed into it. ( I guess it was not a mistake because I was told they sale sample dresses all the time so if you aren't intending on buying a sample then look the dress over carefully to ensure you have no visible printing on the front of what Is supposed to be a classy gown). I definitely had plans of wearing this dress more than once hence the reason I walked in and spent $226 without hesitation. Since I live out of state, I left the dress and receipt with my mother when I flew back. She called before I had the chance to and asked about a partial refund or getting a new dress that wasn't made as the sample. The lady she talked to told her, " I'm not giving any money back and I can't do anything else about it! All sales are final!" And hung up on her. If this isn't the rudest thing I've ever heard. After my mother told me what happened I called and spoke to the same person. She tried to explain to me that she didn't hang up on my mom, she had her finger over the button and accidentally got disconnected or something of the sorts. I would've given this story the benefit of the doubt had I not just been placed on extended hold when I called and asked may I speak with whomever just hung up on my mother pertaining to a dress I purchased that was meant to be a sample. I think she was hoping I'd hang up but I didn't. Her solution to my issue was to suggest having someone bring the dress in so she could try to camouflage the stitched in word "sample". She said this is all that she could do. I thanked her for her time and hung up. I simple consider it a loss because I won't be wearing the dress again with the word SAMPLE clearly printed into the bottom of it...it's not small either. As a matter of fact, it's quite large. Just be careful when buying from here because all sales are final and obviously there's no exceptions or considerations made even when they sale you a sample dress that you didn't know was a sample. Better yet just go to the Red Carpet instead!!!!!!

They were very rude when I went to get measured and then the measurements they took were the very definition of incorrect. Because I live some distance away, I was unable to pick the tux up until the day of the wedding, thus it was not fixable. When I attempted to discuss their error they basically told me that, it wasn't their fault I live so far away and that I was just out of luck. Mind you, I wear a size 30 pant and a 15 1/2 shirt....what did they give me after "measuring me? A size 40 pant and a size 14 shirt.... I decided to order a dress here because it was cheaper than any where else I looked, but I didn't really that the service was going to be so terrible. They weren't helpful at all with my bridesmaids, they just stood there the entire time and didn't help them with a single thing, yet you have to have an appointment. The staff called me probably 5-7 times regarding bridesmaids dresses and the information was never accurate and I don't know why they were constantly calling me to just tell me that someone had ordered their dress, my bridesmaids told me themselves. They never answer the phone when you call and when I did talk to someone she kept calling me honey. Didn't appreciate being called honey about 15 times per phone call. I took my dress elsewhere for alterations.

Here's a spectacular place for your wedding party to get ripped off…read more First, each member of your wedding party will be charged $50 for measurements/deposit, something most places do for free. Next, J Marie's will hit each person with an expectation of an egregiously high rental amount. It's roughly the same as buying a tuxedo. After that, there may be some negotiations about what is essential about the formal wear. J Marie's will explain that, "Yes, this is optional," then call you to pony up the money anyway. Doesn't sound optional to me. It sounds like a lie. When the members of your wedding party learn about these lies, they'll call J Marie's back for clarification, only to be lectured about coming in without an appointment long after they'd left the building. They'll also be chastised for not letting them act as they please, since they're old friends with a member of your family, something which may or not be true. Finally, when J Marie's agrees to cancel the rental for each party member, they'll agree, only to text them later to gloat about how they're keeping some of the money. Don't be surprised when the members of your wedding party begin leaving 1-star reviews online based on their brief, toxic interactions with J Marie's. It's an experience their bank accounts will strain to endure, which is nothing compared to the friction placed on your friendships for having been swindled by this business.
