Here's the short story, we were in Lahaina Maui before the fires. We met an artist on front street…read moreand bought a piece of art that we've had in storage for a while. But it's very sentimental with everything that's happening with our friends in Hawaii. So I bid it out to a couple of local frame shops and it came back at $875... I said no. So I went to Michaels where I've had good luck in the past with a great framer named Rob. He totally got that. It was a personal emotional piece and did an unbelievable job for $150 thank you, Rob and everyone at Michaels.

From the moment we walked in, he took the time to understand exactly what we were hoping to create and offered thoughtful suggestions that made the final piece even better than we imagined. He helped us design a beautiful piece, paying close attention to every detail--from matting and color choices to the overall presentation. His eye for design, patience, and genuine care for the project really stood out. You can tell he takes pride in his work and wants every customer to walk away happy. The finished piece is absolutely stunning, and we couldn't be more pleased. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable, creative, and truly dedicated to great results, ask for Rob. Highly recommend!

You pick out the unfinished piece you want, gather your paint and supplies from the shelf, and then spend a couple hours painting them and turn them in for final firing. The pieces are priced reasonably -- it includes all supplies and the final firing. My friend chose a mug that holds a cookie on the bottom and decided to transform it into a likeness of her pug dog-- see the photo... Mine was much more tame-- I picked out a small geometric vase and ended up painting it an ombre shade of an earthy purple. We sat and enjoyed the experience and they offer a concierge type service-- they cleaned up everything for us! Very chill and fun evening- will do again .

The selection was low the day we painted, but on the day we picked up the selection was plenty with well stocked shelves. Brushes and cups of water are already neatly set up at the tables. The only thing you have to do is get your paint in the bottled containers. Little hands may need assistance with this or leave it to the adults to prep the paint dish. I really like the space in the Art Cafe. There is plenty of room between each table. It may be different with more customers (we were the only ones on this weekday visit). But even then, I think there is more plenty of space you don't have to worry bumping into someone. I find all ceramic cafes to be a bit pricey but this is something to do once in awhile. I find it therapeutic and I love to watch the kids paint and be creative with their piece. Great bonding time with someone or good, quiet creative time for just yourself. Go check them out.

They have so many jar options to choose from and different price options. Loved all the scents they had available to choose. I think the only basic they didn't have was plain vanilla. They had other options but it was mixed with something else. All the other scent options great! The $5 add on for sea shells or stones for the top of your candle is a fun edition! We were able to add these half hour after making the candle. So there is a bit of a wait to let the candle settle after making it but we just walked around a bit and still were able to take out candles home same day. There is a two day wait after making it until you can use it. It's totally worth it. So much fun!

Super fun and lowkey therapeutic which was exactly what we needed. The staff were awesome, super friendly, and walked us through everything step by step. We got to pick our own vessels and scents which was honestly the best part. I mixed mango coconut and pineapple together and it smelled so good! We threw some glitter into the soy wax mix because obviously we had to and we even got to design our own labels which turned out so cute. The candle needed an hour to cool so we went off and explored the area and then came back to top them off with some stones. They turned out so pretty omg! The price was worth it! Oh and since I was giving mine as a gift one of the staff members tied a little ribbon on my bag without me even asking which was such a sweet touch. If you're looking for something fun and a little different to do you have to check this place out!!

I chose a small sushi plate ($38) and ended up spending 3 hours choosing the colors, chatting and painting. The employees mostly leave you be (which I appreciate) and are super knowledgeable about the process if you have any questions. After you're done, drop off the item with the employee to fire up your items and you should get a call around 3-5 days later. Overall a pleasant experience and place to hangout and chill with your buddies.

When I arrived, it looks like the event was going on during regular business hours open to the public and not private which made it difficult to tell who was participating in the actual event. Since it was my first time there, I thought the staff would give me a brief rundown after checking in and paying... instead, I was left to figure it out until I finally had to ask what's the protocol here. That rubbed me the wrong way! I also noticed the staff had their friends there too and it was a distraction instead of staff being attentive to customers especially new ones. Another staff came in a bit later and started to interact with us and provided the information I wanted to hear from the very start. She seemed more seasoned than the other staff I encountered earlier. She really turned things around and this event ended up to be not bad at all. She actually saved this review from being a 1-star.

If consciousness is infinite and these paintings are made in consciousness, what do you think these…read morepaintings are? The first time I saw "New Earth" and read the poem accompanying it, I felt an immediate energetic upliftment. A fleeting thought passed through my mind of "that would be nice to purchase it" but I didn't think I would actually end up doing just that! I have never purchased art before this piece - I appreciate art, yes- absolutely. I visit museums and enjoy art galleries, I love making my own art, but I am no art collector (or maybe I am now?!) I inched towards making this purchase very slowly and cautiously. I gave it little "tests" of time. I asked the price, then said no on a few separate occasions. I kept thinking, if its really and truly mine, it will wait for me. No need to rush. This painting was like a gentle tug on the sleeve of my soul... not aggressive or loud in any way, just a quiet message of "I'm still here, I'm waiting for you." I really love this painting so much. It resonates so deeply with my being. I don't know exactly how it was created, or where its going, but I feel very blessed to have come into alignment with this particular creation. It uplifts me, it heals me and it reminds me of my purpose. Thank you, David, for serving as a vessel! Your work is amazing! Keep up the good work!

Just as you're multi-layered, so are these paintings. Each painting couples with a poem that speaks to the theme of the painting. Some theme examples are; self-expression, self-love, abundance and connection with something greater. As I paint I take pictures of these layers and provide these pictures to you, along with a copy of the poem, when purchased. I've enjoyed hearing many touching stories about how these paintings and poems have impacted the buyer. I'm inspired by the deeper levels and layers of the human being; the emotions, sensations and feelings going on beneath the surface. I believe that these deeper aspects of people is what drives their daily habits, routines and behaviors. I've spent many years diving into the depths of my own being and I draw on that depth and experience to create Paintings for the Soul.
