The western frontier town theme is beautifully developed on the grounds, in the private and public rooms and the entire atmosphere of this delightful place. The food is terrific, too. Knowing that the entire camp is handicapped accessible makes it a perfect place for groups that have members in wheelchairs and walkers, or who just need to avoid steps. read more

Joy Ranch specializes in hosting summer camp and retreats for everyone - including people with disabilities, a unique horse riding program, corporate and faith-based meeting and retreat space, summer camping for children and families, families reunions, and retreats.

History

Established in 2002.

In 2002, Joy Nelson, of Watertown, SD, gave away her horse ranch as a gift to be developed into a summer camp and year-round retreat center. The focus of the camp and retreat center would be a place completely accessible and have a unique, western design. The doors officially opened in the spring of 2012.
