Beware thousands of dollars in billing scam going on here. I advise you to look elsewhere. We have…read moreinsurance which they accept, their clearing house accepts, and their contract with Aetna requires they file our claims. Dixie refuses to do her job, I wonder if it's to collect more money from us than our insurance will pay? I see it is a pattern that she causes issues for clients based on other reviews. My partner is the client, but I'm going in circles with her and my insurance for over a year now because she just "doesn't have time" to do "paper forms" which is not remotely accurate to how this works. Penny's responses here are defensive, unhelpful, and uncooperative. I've never dealt with such incompetent office staff or such an unkind overseeing individual like Penny Haight. I can only hope my partner will stop seeing his under trained provider at this location. I have a meeting with care team supervisors with my insurance for them to figure out why Dixie is violating Aetna's contract after many, many hours of calls trying to sort this out. I'm praying that solves this problem, this office owes me thousands of dollars at this point by charging me self pay rate and making me file my own claims. My insurance's system cant comprehend why an in-network provider is trying to make me file my claims. Dixie, Penny, I hope you really look inside yourself and think about how you're harming your clients before posting multiple paragraphs defending your improper and potentially illegal billing practices. I hope whoever else you're hurting gets justice.

High turnover rate of therapist and poor office experience. Overall an unprofessional environment.read more

My 18 year old daughter, who is at College in Texas, was directed here for an Adult ADHD Assessment (to update her Child ADHD Assessment done 10 years ago) by United Healthcare because this practice is in network. The first appointment with Patricia Feltrup-Exum was fine - a $279 assessment fee which was reimbursed by UHC. There was no treatment plan or contract presented. Then for the next follow up appointment, my daughter calls me up and says she's at the appointment for the deeper assessment but they won't see her until a credit card pays for the visit ($1199.00) so she's calling me up because that is a lot of money and this is not how in-network Medical Insurance works in my experience. I speak to Victoria, on the phone, who's role it is on the front desk is to 'honey-talk' patients so they think it's all ok I call UHC & they say no problem, just pay it then claim from us after the visit. That's alot of money going on the credit card in December but let's see how this goes. After 3 visits, my daughter says the assessments are very sketchy and seem unprofessional (remember she did the full Child ADHD assessment before so she has some experience of a professional assessment), she is being tested by people who look like they have walked off the street not anyone who looks medically trained and there's no sign of Patricia Feltrup-Exum again. Also, there are no reports or outputs or anything. She's not convinced that this is a real practice. She sends me photos of staff smoking and drinking outside. It all looks super sketchy Fairwinds wants to continue this until over $10k fees are paid. Remember no signed treatment plan or contract. It is the Winter Break holidays so there is a natural break anyway so I call a pause & submit the claims to UHC. Lo & behold, UHC initially reject the claims because these are non-approved and non-affective tests. What happened to the correct tests and assessments? Why were these not offered? That's why they push these on unsuspecting patients and ask for the $$ upfront. So many complaints. UHC tell me they are in dispute with the practitioner for poor procedures and my daughter should immediately stop attending. How can this be I ask? Are you really saying that you sent us to Fairwinds and now you are telling me they are basically a fraud? After 6 months, which is long after my ability to dispute the charges on the credit card which needs to be done within 60 days, UHC eventually pay 80% of the charges which still leaves 20% Co-pay of $756 for a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME and MONEY. Fairwinds refused to release the results of the three tests even though over $3500 was paid A Healthcare mediation service that my company pays for got involved to investigate. They said that the true tests would be $400 and Fairwinds basically took advantage of my daughter in a fraudulent way. She had just turned 18 years so was doing this solo but didn't sign a contract or treatment plan. I was urged to take a complaint further. Crickets from UHC Behavioral Health complaints so I contacted my Congressman for help. I have been advised to contact the Texas Trade Commission and Federal Trade Commission to engage law enforcement to pursue Fraudulent Charges against Fairwinds. This is what I am going to do. They should be shut down. They are taking advantage of the Post-COVID surge in mental/behavioral health and vulnerable people to price gourge and scam. $$$ for ZERO service. If they say that they have helped people, where are the testimonials and why so many complaints??

After calling and leaving messages for over a month, in desperation I had my wife drive me to the office to try and set an appointment. Upon arrival I went into the office, adorned by some really interesting art, almost like an art gallery. I love art and was impressed, but that was short live after noticing one woman waiting in the waiting area, while a loud woman(I guess a secretary)was talking loudly to a patient on the phone that was trying to explain to her that they needed a refill. (Unfotunately I heard quite a bit) She continued to cut the person on the phone off, telling them she couldn't help them and they needed to come in and see the Dr. Fair enough. As soon as she got off the phone, before saying or asking much of anything, she informed me that they were "cash only" and "didn't accept insurance". First of all, I have just lost my mom a year ago and my younger brother a few months ago, so I am already in a really dark place, but instead of telling me about the services, setting up an appointment to let me speak to the dr, this cold hearted witch goes right into telling me how they don't take any insurance and giving me the prices per visit, including the visit to see if they can even help me. Being desperate and depressed I just kept asking her when I could get an appointment. She followed everything up with telling me the cost (I guess I looked like I couldn't afford it) after 10 minutes of her telling me their ridiculous prices, we left. It was a shock to meet someone that deals with mental health act like that. Far from professional, but clear about what is most important to these crooks. Save your time, and money and look ANYWHERE else. The ONLY thing this place is interested in is $$. Not in helping the patient. BTW, I was well aware that they might not take my insurance, but having this woman shove that down my throat instead of showing any empathy, concern, or just caring, was enough for me. I dont do many reviews, but this bothered me so much, I felt obligated to warn others. Good luck, and help is out there. Just don't waste your time and end up in a worse mental state by going by here, and go somewhere that actually cares more about their patients, then their exotic art and money.

Edited to encourage potential clients to check out the REDDIT threads about ABCenters. Beware!…read more So unfortunately after a 6 month enrollment process and several evalutions and giving our trust over to them for our son, we have had to pull him out after just 2 days. I picked my son up Tuesday at 2pm and he was handed over by the male therapist that was with him all day except a few hours mid morning. My oldest daughter and I noticed as he was bringing my son out in his arms that he had a red ring around his lips, like lip liner. The therapist started telling us how well my son did and about how he only had 1 urine diaper and said he and the lead therapist female AB were both there when looking at his diaper. I assumed he was referring to the female AB changing his diaper and the male just happened to be around because AB was told at out first meeting that only female staff can change my son's diaper. They assured that's how it would be. So when the male therapist said that it caught my attention. I was still noticing the red around my son's mouth but my son was talking non stop and my daughter had started talking to the male therapist about how rough the drop off was that morning as the male therapist was also the one to receive my child. So we ended up heading out to the car and I put my son in his car seat and gave him his cookie and really started looking at his mouth. I realized it was dried blood. My son was pulling away so I couldn't get a good look into his mouth to look further. So we drove home, I thought I could be wrong about it being blood and that maybe it was red food dye. So I emailed AB and asked about the red ring and asked if he possibly fell or did he eat something red. And then I proceeded to look at the potty logs and the time that the only urine diaper was changed was at 12 50 and when AB got back to my email she said she was only with my son from 8-11 so that meant the male therapist changed my diapers son alone and lied to me that AB was present. Either way he was NOT to change my son's diaper. AB also said in the email that she asked the therapists who had my son if he had fallen and they said no and that he had only eaten plain oatmeal all day. So when I finally was able to look in my son's mouth there was pretty fresh red sore in his upper lip. We have pics. And the blood around his mouth was noticeable and when he gets hurt he is pretty expressive about his pain so I don't believe it was unnoticed. Pics that were sent to us that day up until about 1 did NOT show any blood around his lips. There were no pics sent to me after 1. I know my kid can be clumsy and things happen and I don't want to believe an adult hurt my child but whatever happened was noticeable and unmistakable and either negligence or something being covered is going on and I don't appreciate it. My husband spoke with the OM this morning and he stated he believes if his techs saw something they would have reported it. Its a 1 on 1 therapy so i dont understand how my child could have gotten his lip busted and be bleeding and no one noticed. And to go against my orders to not have a male change my son's diaper is just another layer. I had high hopes and I really loved AB and her desire for my child but there's something that happened and no can tell how my child got hurt. It's truly disheartening. Hope they do better in the future. My first time trusting another entity to help with my child and this happens. I'm truly angered and sad. A waste of my son's precious time cause now we go back to the drawing board.
