Terrible! The problem is my kids like their therapists but we've been dropped from past therapists there for being unable to make some appointments and the management team is awful. My daughter started getting psychiatric care to manage her meds - after MONTHS of being on a wait list we finally got someone and have seen her 3 times only and she cut her hours and no longer has availability for us. After WEEKS of emailing back and forth and talking with a case worker and asking to speak to a manager I finally got the manager to call me only to tell me there is no one else we can transfer to to get medication management care. Months and weeks of this. And no email response either from the manager, Mary is her name. They can't keep track of anything either. I'm only staying because my kids do like their therapists and need to see therapy and we have state insurance and can't find much care elsewhere, but having being dropped and having to start over and over is infuriating. Don't waste your time at this place. They are not worth it. Also, they have a policy that says they can drop you if you don't give them 24 hour notice oof you need to cancel. It seems like only one of my kids therapists stated this and not the other, so it's inconsistent. If my kid is sick coming home from school and I need to cancel, they said they could drop us. an hour agoNEW I can't say enough about how horrible this place is. 2 1/2 years in and I can honestly say they have not helped me. In fact I'm in worse shape then when I started with them. 4 therapists and 2 psychiatrists in that time. It's hard to make progress when I'm continuity starting over. I have had to start from the beginning every time. It's like a launching pad for therapists fresh out of school. They get a couple of years there and then move on to better jobs. To make matters worse, most of the administrative staff are so rude and not knowledgeable. From the receptionist through the Sr VP. All defending the problems, never taking responsibility. They have made several billing problems; from running my credit card,without my consent, when I had no appointment, to overcharging. It takes multiple phone calls and a lot of time to get these issues resolved. Not to mention how rude and combative these people are. Having to interact with them is a nightmare. With the exception of Frannie in billing and Carolina. Whom both go out of their way to be helpful and kind. Given the fact people go there at low points in their lives, you'd think they'd be a little compassionate and helpful. I was without a psychiatrist and capable therapists for over 6 months. I can honestly say I'm worse off from when I started with them. Sadly, my insurance isn't accepted there and behavioral health people are in high demand right now. They have a sliding scale. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will say the therapist and nurse practitioner were nice and genuinely seem to care. However, ownership and the support staff are rude, dismissive, disorganized and judgmental. read more

My significant other speaks very highly of her experience at The Josselyn Center. They have been going for years, and I can often see the benefits of each of their visits immediately afterward. The location is pretty convenient, with a fair number of parking spots on the south and east side of the building. There's a bigger lot to the southeast. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to help, so ones mileage will definitely vary; but our experiences have been very positive with the Josselyn Center. read more

Update: There is obviously no honesty and integrity with this organization. Today, I received a letter from the OIG office saying that my claim was unfounded. Obviously, there is a coverup because I don't see how having a peer counselor taking his foot and making contact with me is somehow appropriate, acceptable, and even legal. If the peer counselor were honest, he would have owned up to his behavior but he is lying because he would lose his job which should happen. Such a shame that this organization would allow this kind of behavior here especially from the staff. Rather than dealing with the employees behavior, they would rather get rid of the client. I didn't make a police report or a complaint to the OIG for no reason. Obviously, this places Professional Code of Conduct involves lying to the police and OIG which says volumes about this place. I would stay away from this place and not donate money here either especially if you care about yourself and others. Update: The problems with this organization start at the top with the board and the executive director and clinical director. The executive director expects me to call her. I guess she is too busy doing nothing. I happen to be a proud member of USAA and drive around with Navy Veteran plates on the car and yet I get kicked by a staff member, have the clinical director wanting to do what is fair for the staff member, and donate care that the staff purposefully spread their germs. GO ELSEWHERE AND DO NOT DONATE ANYTHING HERE. No I got a solicitation in the mail from here asking for money. Really? I get kicked by a staff member on multiple occasions and you want my money. Staff members purposely spread their germs around the place and you want my money. The clinical director victim shamed me in front of my parents by saying that I am not a good fit and you still want money from me. The clinical director is more worried about the staff members employment than client safety and this place still wants money from me. Would someone at this place wake up and understand that I do not donate money to places who do not value me. Valuing me would include not having staff members kick me or spread their germs around. Also, staff members need to do their jobs and not commit theft of services either. Obviously, this is not a well run organization since their thinking here would result in anarchy since people with issues should not be held accountable I decided to get services elsewhere. I wrote the Josselyn Center Board President and I got no response. This says a lot about how this organization is run. Other people have said they don't go to the Josselyn Center anymore too. Some people have stated they hate having to go there but can't afford to go elsewhere. Also, some of the staff go around spreading their germs too without any repercussions. The hand, foot, and mouth disease has gone around and probably other things too. If you care about yourself, don't go here and don't donate your money or time to this place. read more

I reached out to this center for their services so I could work on severe anxiety issues, the loss of a parent, and dealing with a narcissistic ex husband. I went in and did their initial assessment. They had a clear idea of what I was seeking in terms of therapy. It was an emotionally draining assessment as I was scratching the surface of what needed to be worked on. I was told within 1-2 weeks I would be called back by a therapist that would best be suited to help me. It's been over two weeks and I never heard back from anyone. I called them back finally to tell them how displeased I was and why it was so harmful that they didn't call me back. All the receptionist said was, "oh my it was a good thing you called us back". This is a mental health facility. They are supposed to be in the business of helping people. I revealed a lot of my past to these people who are complete strangers to me and I have no relationship with them. Only come to find out I had slipped through the cracks as a potential client. I already have trust issues with my story and this just makes it incredibly worse. Save your money and time and research a place who truly cares about helping you. I now am at square one in searching again. It is truly beyond frustrating. read more

My daughter was self injuring. Her school recommended the Josselyn center. I called and was informed that their procedure is to interview the parents first. I made the appointment and after an hour of interview they charged $150.00. They require you to pay out of pocket and deal with your insurance yourself. Then I had to make an appointment for my daughter. After some time she got the appointment and I again was charged $150.00 following her appointment. I was then told that the center would find the right fit for her with a social worker and someone wold notify me in about 2 weeks. That was news to me since I thought she was meeting with a social. Worker on that appointment. Wrong! It was merely another interview. Six weeks passed and no call. I called the center and asked what was taking so long, what happened? They then informed me that it was a mistake for the worker to tell me that it would only be 2 weeks. That this procedure can take a much longer time, depending on urgency of the child. REALLY! Self injury is not urgent? And by the way, why wasn't I informed of that to begin with, I would never have gone there. So much time was wasted, I easily could have made an appointment for her somewhere else and she would have already had several therapy sessions by then. Unbelievable and unacceptable! I am now attempting to get a copy of the interview and evaluation and they have yet to send it to me after filling out forms for it's release. If you care about your child and need timely attention to his/her matter, go somewhere else. This center was a great waste of time and money. read more

I went to The Josselyn Center for over 10 years. If you want a good psychiatrist, don't go here. Dr. Lin is a JOKE! She overlaps appointments to the point of my appointment being an hour late because she takes her sweet time. She has no consideration for her other patients and the fact of we have places to be. We might have a job or another appointment to get too. She has been incredibly unprofessional with me as a client therefore I will never go here again and I urge people to not book appointments with her. read more

Strongly recommended. Productive experiences with clinicians and staff at Josselyn over the past four years. Our family counselor is first rate; he's done what I thought no counselor could do: earned our trust and got us working to trust each other. In the six weekly sessions my son's mom (ex-wife), my son and I have become unified in dealing with son's anxiety and OCD. It's a long road, with setbacks and successes, but we are going in the right direction, which will now include medication. Almost all payments have been fully covered by Medicare or Medicaid. read more

I think Dr. Lin is wonderful and the receptionists are great too. Dr. Lin is one doctor that I would never want to change. She is caring and very passionate about her job. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the time she takes with me and with all her patients. If i have to wait that is fine with me. I really admire her. read more

I give this location one star not because of the care that I received in the one visit I received there (the doctor was top notch and caring), but because of one of their front office staff members: a woman named Frannie. Frannie is the woman who does the billing for their offices and doctors. She has an attitude problem beyond belief, and, during one call, became so argumentative with me regarding my insurance claim, that I hung up on her. What did she do? Called me right back after I hung up on her! This woman made me feel like I was an insignificant person, and gave me such a feeling that their office doesn't care about their patients, that I terminated treatment there after only one visit. The feeling I also got from Frannie was that the Josselyn Center cared only about one thing: money. I did write the President of the Josselyn Center, regarding this obnoxious woman, and to advise him that I was terminating the services I was receiving from them, because of the actions of Frannie. I did receive a reply from him, asking me if I would reconsider my choice to terminate services there; the President also stated he was bringing up this issue to Frannie's supervisor and was going to review it with her. I advised him that because of Frannie, I didn't want to continue the services there. If their office were to get rid of Frannie, and take a more patient-friendly approach to the people that they want to serve, I think they would be better off. Treating people that need such care like they are an insignificant person by members of their staff, and their staff giving people the feeling that their office cares only about the money isn't the way to do business. read more

Would not recommend this place! Doctor Lin NEVER returns phone calls or emails. She's a very nice woman but late for every appointment. I finally got tired of waiting 45minutes plus every time so I scheduled her first appointment of the day to avoid the wait. She strolled in almost an hour late for a 9am appointment. The only reason we stayed here is because we had horrible insurance...we've since gone elsewhere. I could easily leave 6 voice mails with no return call. It was only after I called and asked to speak with Suzan Eckstein, program director, that I was able to get any kind of response. I've attended the Parent Support Group for about 20 years. It is geared to parents of adult mentally ill children. I have found it very helpful, and the help comes not only from the facilitator of the group but from the other parents as well. Lisa Blumenthal, who runs the group, is always available by e-mail and follows up when she says she will get information for me. I highly recommend this group--especially to parents whose child has been newly diagnosed. read more

The Josselyn Center is the Worst place that I ever came to for help and I would strongly suggest that anyone go anywhere but this uncaring Bad Bad place. I saw Marc N. Pechter who tries to say he is a very compassionate guy, he is the farthest from that. I had a Severe cold I could hardly breathe I had to go on antibiotics and he could tell I was very sick. I was so sick and had to cancel some appointments I always did it in the time allowed with more than 24hrs notice. So what does Marc do he sends me a letter about 4 days later it said he was closing my case which made no sense since he knew that I was so sick. I think he just wanted to get rid of me as fast as he could because he thought I might tell someone, which I did that he was physical with me on more then 1 occasion. I told my friend who brought me here the very first time about what happened with Marc, multiple times she said that I should stop going here and getting the latter from him was for the best. My friend said that I should try and get over what Marc did to me the best I could, I never told my brother what happened between Marc and I my friend thought it would really upset him. My brother thought Marc was a complete Idiot and thought he was just a Bad therapist he was so happy when I stopped seeing him. Marc N. Pechter is so unprofessional on all levels and is such an uncaring person he Lies and is very Manipulative he is clearly in the wrong profession. I know Marc has a private practice and also works at the Josselyn Center so my advice do not see him in either location ever Marc N. Pechter is a Disgrace to his profession everything he did was so wrong. My horrific experience began with Frannie, the big lady that deals with payments. I agree with Carmen above, the payments are insane and despite showing proof of my low income I needed to bring in more, something was weird and of course I was upset because I had been waiting for this appointment for nearly four weeks. Frannie, the secretary/finances lady was beyond not understanding or patient although aware of my condition (it is a center for mental health patients seeking help) but told me "This is a business here missy, and im just doing my job" I honestly felt so disrespected, upset, and hurt. WHEN DID TREATING A PATIENT BECOME A BUSINESS? and did she really need to shout that at me? Talk about lack of understanding...i could not believe i was in a health center meant for people without insurance/low income. She then yelled at me while i was crying from being so confused (because the volunteer told me differently over the phone) Frannie would not explain what I was signing when it came to all the paperwork which frustrated her, and proceeded to go to another secretary woman to vent, INFRONT OF ME. Beyond a joke, whoever that Frannie woman is, she is absolutely horrible and i highly suggest asking for someone else to deal with your finances especially if you dont have insurance and have low income. The wait time for appoints like Carmen said is an absolute nightmare and ask ALL questions upfront because I too thought I would be seeing a doctor (what i was told over the phone) but it had to wait for my next appoint in four weeks and they suggested going to the ER. If there is another place where you can go I would greatly recommend looking elsewhere I had the worst experience. read more
