I'm only giving 2 stars because Mr. Lane's service was expectational if it wasn't for him this…read morewould have been a 1 star review. I'll start by saying this funeral home was chosen by our cousin who lives in Texarkana. Our father passed away on Thanksgiving Day 2021 by Friday noon Lyles Funeral Home already had his body and had started the embalming process. I had to come down from Dallas Friday to assist my cousin with the arrangements. Mr. Lyles and Ms. Virginia were the first people we spoke with regarding pricing, choosing the casket, choosing a date for the funeral etc. They provided a statement of funeral services and goods and pretty much said we'll see you all next Friday. Nothing was explained in detail, no expectations etc. I say this because this was my first time EVER planning a funeral and I would have assumed as professional they would have guided us through this process by being a little more detailed and thorough. Monday I reached out to the life insurance provided because again I wasn't sure what to expect, they provided me with all details regarding my dads policies and sent paperwork over for me to fill out. This is when the shit show began. We started having back and forth conversations with Ms. Viriginia and Mr. Lyles regarding the services, payments, documents that needed to be signed etc. The level of incompetence and shear lack of empathy for the family was unreal. I had to drive back to down to Texarkana 3 hour trip each way a day before the viewing the ensure they were PAID and to get papers notarized. When we got to the funeral home we were greeted by Ms. Virginia with "Do ya'll have the balance"? Well good afternoon to you as well. Mr. Lyles never showed up to notarize this oh so important document. They don't take credit or debit card payments so we had to run around looking for a bank that would allow us to do a cash advance after Ms. Virginia again had called Mr. Lyles stating "They only got $1000", it wasn't that we didn't have the money to fully pay the balance but we didn't come with cash. During this same meeting Thursday I was reassured NUMEROUS times that we would have military representation at the funeral and the only thing we got was a wrinkled, un-steamed, unprofessionally folded flag that was draped on my fathers casket. I'm very disappointed as my father served to protect our country and deserved to have that honor. I WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER RECOMMECOND ANYONE TO USE THIS FUNERAL HOME. Mr. Lane on the other hand was very welcoming, very caring and it showed in everything he did from the first meeting that Friday after my fathers death to the preparation of my dad's body and for that Mr. Lane I'll be forever grateful for YOUR services.
