Unfortunately, they do a kind of X Ray that my insurance does not cover, but did pay 25% of. I called them about it and although the receptionist was nice and got more clarity from calling my insurance company, she discovered I am on a new plan they didn't know about. So, my opinion is that staff should always learn the new policies and coverages so a new patient like me, doesn't get stuck with a bill that is almost $100. Because no matter what, I am still responsible for paying it. Not cool.

He is very knowledgeable, as well as personable. Dr Christy is the first dentist I've been to (and I'm 65) that listens to you and gives individualized compassionate care. She explains everything in detail and considers your input. You ultimately make the decision about your treatment. Allie (her restorative assistant) is better than some NPs and PAs in medicine. She is so knowledgeable and a perfectionist too! She is definitely Dr Christy's other right hand. I feel very grateful that I finally found Dr Christy. My mouth is finally getting straightened out thanks to her.

Appointments are very easy to get, prices are in line, receptionist is warm and friendly and of course we love our hygienist. One of the great things is the Dr. here will work out a plan for you on your future care with each issue tackled based on priority and affordability. I have never had a dentist take that approach. I have gone to other dentist who want to drill where there is no cavity. (It happens. Another dentist explained that sometimes unscrupulous dentists "...have a Mercedes payment due.") Other Doctors I could tell simply wrote me off, not telling me about work I need because they supposed I could not afford it. With a plan now, I know that over time I can afford to maintain and actually keep my teeth as I mature. If your dentist seems like he's rushing from room to room, not bothering to take the time talk to you about your dental health and it's importance to your overall well being, it's time for a change. On July 12, 2023 Dr. Shawn Kennedy gave me the impression (after looking at x-rays) that he could…read moresave both tooth #21 and tooth #22 with root canals and surgical root resorption repair (fillings). Dr. Kennedy was supposed to remove the sutures on August 23rd, however, the office called that morning to say that he would be unavailable. I did not get that message since I was already gone. Instead his assistant tried and could not get them out so she called Dr. Mancia (whom I had not met) to help. The removal of the stitches was a very painful procedure. My gums did not heal and they were causing me pain. Dr. Kennedy recommended I see Dr. Fertik for laser surgery which did not help but cost more money with the evaluation, procedure and follow up appointment. Dr. Fertik mentioned that part of the filling of #21 had become loose. I believe this was due to faulty workmanship from Dr. Kennedy. Dr. Fertik said he would call Dr. Kennedy. I did not hear back from Dr. Kennedy. When I called his office his response through the receptionist was "PULL THE TOOTH" and he did not offer to see me again to check on the loose filling. On February 19, 2024 I went to go to an oral surgeon who lifted out the piece of loose filling. He pulled my tooth #21 on March 15, 2024. I believe that Dr. Kennedy and his office were very unprofessional during this experience. He lacked skill in taking care of my teeth, was uncaring and did not follow through. This whole experience cost me $3,968.75. I could have avoided much of this cost if he would have done a good job with tooth #21. I would not recommend Dr. Kennedy.

I was referred to Doctors Kennedy and Ewing by my primary dentist. Dr Ewing handled my case which…read morewas a root canal procedure on the back, lower molar. Now I've had root canals before, dating back to 1957. That first one took about 3 weeks with many intermediate treatments- most without novocain. These procedures, thankfully, have been refined over the years but I was not expecting the ease and efficiency of Dr Ewing's treatment. This was a breeze. I was in and out in about an hour and was absolutely, positively pain free. The office followed up the next day and I reported no discomfort whatsoever. I enthusiastically recommend the Kennedy practice and Dr James Ewing if you need this kind of work.
