And while the technology behind photography has advanced over the years, putting the making of memories by photo into the hands of almost everyone, there still remains, and in my opinion always will, quite a significant difference between the"do-er", the artist. And it's in that elusive something, that inborn spark for capturing the most absolutely perfect moment in time that will never come again, the gift. That ability to listen both with artistic ears and an open heart to a client's wishes for a project. And in-between their instructions on the time, day and venue, hear the unspoken dreams and hopes for these moments in time to last a lifetime. And this is what separates a Professional Photographer from anyone else with a camera. And this Karen Gallagher Photography. While I've never used her in a professional capacity, Karen did a portrait photo shoot for me as a gift for my husband. And due to the fact that I am not well, there were not only issues with timing and alloted time I was "on my game" so to speak, but the effects of many medications and the fact that time is drawing to a close was written all over my face. Not a pretty picture ... Pardon the pun. Karen not only was beyond remarkable in her kindness and generosity as well as empathy and compassion and patience! She finished my portrait after my delays due to illness which never ruffled her and begging for retouching so my husband would remember me in a "much improved version". The final portrait was done in such a way that I neither looked "plastic" nor as unwell as I presently was, but in the best version of "me" ... and we were both so pleased. To tears . Karen was human, light-hearted and professional giving great direction. Her final presentation was top shelf, and from a professional stand point, her technique, styling, and execution were top notch. The heart and soul shown through. In both of us ... And I gained a dear friend in the bargain as well. You won't regret your choice. I promise!

We decided on a package from her that included our engagement photo shoot, 2 shooters for our wedding day, and all photos available for download from an online gallery. Our engagement photo shoot was in Sedona and it was so much fun! Desiree met us up there and brought along one of her photography friends who lived in Sedona and knew the area. We were able to get comfortable with her and got amazing pictures for our Save the Date and wedding website. We received our edited engagement photos back within a few weeks and loved the result! As our wedding day approached, Desiree met us at our venue and did a walkthrough with us to go over the schedule for the day and help us create a shot list. The day of the wedding, Desiree and Michelle were early and captured some great shots of the venue before we arrived. Once we were there, they divided and conquered to get shots of the bridal party and groom's party getting ready and doing shots together. We did our first look, group shots, and then the ceremony began and it was all very easy and went smoothly. Throughout the whole day, Desiree was attentive, in the right place at the right time, and made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. She carried around my shot list to ensure that we didn't miss any of my "must have" shots. Once our wedding was over, I was already anxious to see our pictures! Within a few hours, Desiree posted a sneak peek on her Facebook page with a few shots that she had already edited! A month later, I had a full album of 2500 pictures to view online, download, and get printed.
