First impressions can be deceptive, I know. But The Jolly Colliers was brought to my attention one summer afternoon as I happened to be wandering passed it in a state of (soon-to-be-interrupted) mellow reflection. Nearing the joint, I became aware of some commotion unravelling outside so promptly crossed over the road. Seconds later, the miniature crowd which had gathered outside the pub gave way to a group of writhing women, pissed as farts, attempting to do eachother in. Locals and passers by (myself included) watched curiously as the fight continued, and was eventually broken up by police.
