Decided to go to this new location since I was in the area. I ordered the joy box of 10 pieces 5 sides and 5 pie. I really wanted the spicy chicken but they ran out 3 hours before closing? Was fairly disappointed but thats alright. I got 5 mash potato as my sides and came home to find out it was going bad. It was legit sour and foul smelling. I was surprise they even served it. I immediately tried calling that night multiple times and with no luck they never ever pick up. I tried the next morning as well and no reply as well. Not only was the mash potato bad, they forgot 2 of my Peach Mango Pie!!!!! I was super upset at this location. The only good thing was their pie was crispy and delicious here. Hey, you know what? Not bad. As first-timers we were not dissatisfied. We are Chicanos (Mexican-Americans) and it suited our taste buds. I am a cheap Dad and we went for the bucket of 10 and a pineapple quencher beverage. The skin was tasty, the chicken wasn't overly grease and it came with two orders of this gravy that I actually ate and liked. I'm not a gravy dude... Actually liked it better than Popeyes. As they called my number I went up and got my food and drove home. When I got home and went through the bag I noticed my sandwich was no where to be found. This really disappointed me because an entree was missing. If it were a side or gravy sauce then hey no problem, but the entree itself cmon. Really disappointed I know that I should've checked myself to see if everything was there but the fact how they had a whole assembly line of employees packing orders made it seem like they were on top of their duties, but sadly they weren't. They do have other random items like spaghetti and some Filipino food, but fried chicken seems to be their main item. I noticed that the menu that they had no breast and wings, but only legs and thighs. I just got the two chicken combo with steamed rice, pineapple juice, and a halo halo (a shaved iced dessert). When my food was up, I was excited. The chicken was very fresh, like straight out of the fryer fresh. Just one bite into the chicken, and I was sold. It was juicy, crispy and full of flavor. The gravy that comes with it was really good too. The desert was tasty, and just right for the contrasting flavor with the savory chicken. I have been coming to this location ever since its inception. And I have seen the quality of their food deteriorate year after year. I purchased an order yesterday, I wished I remembered to take pictures, the chicken was stale and cold, it didn't cook evenly and you can still taste the batter. I used to work for restaurants and I don't know how they could possibly mess it up. Heart to heart talk: If youre not Filipino, then I will tell you right now that this is not going to be the best fried chicken you've ever had, but more like "hm. this is alright." I can only speak for the two times I got to eat here (was in OC for only a couple of days) - the chicken I had both times were fresh, crispy, and tasted just like they make it back in the Philippines. The gravy and spaghetti is exactly as it should be as well, and for these, four stars. Now, if youre not Filipino or arent familiar with Filipino cuisine, dont even bother trying the spaghetti as this is going to be very very different from any spaghetti youve had. Why is that? Welp, Filipino spaghetti is sweet, made with banana ketchup, mixed with slices of cheap hotdog and shredded cheddar cheese (told ya it's different). This type of spaghetti can be off-putting to those who are unfamiliar, and no doubt would bash this style of spaghetti, but ya know, it is what it is - that's how it's made over there, and this place delivers. The aloha burger will also not be too much to your liking as it will taste a bit different from your typicial fast food burger. Also, keep in mind that Filipinos traditionally cook their meat "well done" (that goes for steak and burgers [sacre bleu]), so seeing a slightly charred burger may be par for the course. As far as the service, everyone was very polite and often times, very soft spoken. I will suggest to have my peoples speak up a little more since it seems like some folks thinks that this is a reflection of incompetence. With all that being said, I heart Jollibee. I was only in cali for a couple of days, but I ate here twice, and both visits were good. The whole set up is very similar to the one Ive visited in Vegas.
