I've been coming to this place for years. So much so that I've gone through two loyalty cards (for every $10 you spend, you earn one of 10 stamps which once the card is filled, can get you a free sandwich, fries, or drink). In search for desert, I stumbled upon this place after a vegetable dumpling and soup run. Once I opened the door to cute sayings written on chalk walls talking about their food, I was immediately intrigued. Even though after scanning the menu and finding no desert, I vowed I'd come back. I'm so glad I did. I had a lemongrass chicken bahn mi with a mild sauce and loaded kimchi fries with a runny egg. Yummy modern Viet sandwich every time! Love their JoJu fries with the Asian pickle on the top, they makes it a bit healthier. My favorite is the caramel pork sandwich and every time you check in yelp you can show them and get a free egg with your sandwich! Just tried their new bowl with brown rice. LOVE it! It is heavier and same yummy!! Pay extra for the runny Onsen egg, it is damn good! Like everyone else who has love JoJu. I love JoJu! Had an amazing bowl. It's super flavorful and they really make sure you know what you're having. Being able to get sauces on the side is perfect for me because I have no idea how spicy something is and if it's too spicy I definitely would not enjoy my meal. I had the beef bowl along with the Thai iced team. Not much to say about their drinks. I feel like they're the same as other places. Not much seating and it's a little crapped. It's a small place. Awesome place to get lunch. The banh mi fries are a must and you can add an egg for a dollar. It includes crispy fries with spicy mayo, pickled radish and carrots, cilantro, and jalapeños. The banh mis are pretty good as well. I usually get the one with pork belly. It melts in your mouth. You can add any level of spice, which comes with spicy mayo, jalapeños, or green sauce. You could also add an egg to the sandwich. The drinks there are tasty too. They have different flavored fruit teas, milk teas, and slushes and you could get any topping as well with it. This place is tiny, affordable, and adorable. The beef bulgogi is so amazing it's a must-have. One sandwich is split into halves but it's so filling it can be shared between two people. The banh-mi fries are also so delicious and I like them with a runny egg. Something I love is that you can choose how you want your egg. Co worker couldn't stop talking about this place especially for the fries. Been meaning to go and finally I decided to head to Queens. Had to take a bus and three trains to get here (R took sooooo long to arrive, but it was a weekend so I guess that could be the reason?),but it was definitely worth it. Had the popular loaded banh mi fries. It came with picked carrot strips, cilantro, spicy mayo and runny egg. Despite the toppings, fries were still crispy, never soggy. Didn't have ketchup on my table, just Sriracha so I asked the party next to me for the bottle. Turns out I didn't need it cuz the mayo was enough. Though it was a generous portion, the fries didn't fill my appetite and I was curious about the crispy wings so I tried those. You can only order by two and they had two types of wings, original and soy garlic so I ordered two of each (can't order one of each). The wings were well cooked and indeed crispy. You can choose a side, I chose the spicy mayo that was on the fries. The soy garlic fries was basically the original but with a savory garlicky sauce over it. It was enough that it didn't overpower the chicken. There was a Korean casual spot that participates in the Urban Eats events that would happen in Madison and 34th St (between Manhattan mall and Gap). When they were there I would go for the wings and they would drizzle a spicy mayo sauce on them. They were soooooo bomb that I would ask for extra. The joju one wasn't bad but didn't wow me like the other one. Anyway, I also had the mango lychee mojito, which only comes in large and pretty much tasted like sprite, but refreshing option if you're not into bubble tea. Prices are reasonable. Space is small so seating can be limited. They also have a spot downstairs (steps are outside of the joju entrance) called Joju Bowl if you're into rice bowls. I heard the sandwiches are good. Ordered the Sweet JoJu sandwich and JoJu Banh Mi Fries with a sweet jasmine green tea. Everything was delicious. The sandwich is large, I couldn't finish it all. Very flavorful. Texture is a big deal for many, move past the pate' texture and enjoy the sandwich. The fries were labeled as hot n spicy. They were good, but I did not find them hot. Joju is pretty out of the way for me but it's totally worth coming for when I'm craving some banh mi! It's a bit pricier than getting a banh mi from other places but Joju's sandwiches will not disappoint (it's SO good and always fresh plus they are generous with their ingredients). We got the kakuni pork belly sandwhich with an runny egg and kimchi fries. The sandwhich is huge, definitely recommend sharing as it is quite heavy. The pork belly is cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth. The runny egg adds a really nice touch to the sandwhich. Not too sold by the Viet sandwiches they offer but given that they're the only Viet sandwich specialty shop in Elmhurst, it becomes the go to spot for everyone nearby. I recently tried the banh mi fries with bulgogi. It was very small and underwhelming size of fries for a total of $8.49 and it was really oily due to the combination of the sauces and the fries that were drenched with oil. The waxed paper at the bottom of the container ended up being covered with a fine layer of oil. The bulgogi was okay but sitting on top of oily fries made me regret ordering. In addition I ordered a large hot milk tea which is something you don't normally get from them because the majority order a cold bubble milk tea or their other cold drinks. Been coming to Joju since they first opened and can't believe I haven't written a review. We've gone through a handful of those punch cards and always rave about Joju to friends and family visiting Elmhurst. Most of the banh mi sandwiches here range from $6-$8 which I think is a great price for the portions. I usually only eat half the sandwich and save the other half for later. You have the option to add spice and they offer four different spice levels. My personal favorite is the Beef Bulgogi that has thinly sliced rib eye beef and kimchi. If you're feeling extra adventurous then get the Bulgogi Bomb Me which adds extra kimchi and a fried runny egg. You can choose to add an egg to any sandwich and sometimes they do special offers like a yelp check in for a free egg on sandwich. Besides the food here, my family is also a big fan of the wide variety of drinks they offer. The vietnamese iced coffee, thai iced tea, and joju chillers are my go-to options. My only con for Joju would be the limited amount of seating because it gets very crowded during lunch time. Recently they've added more seating towards the left of the counter. Some people also bring their food down to Joju Bowl (the sister establishment) to eat. Overall, great place to grab some sandwiches to eat. Joju, please don't change! read more

To go place in Elmhurst for some Bah Mi I personally rarely stay in store as there are limited seatings. I prefer ordering for pick up. You can order through their app or thought Google. But order online DOES NOT give you the option to pay in cash. Must pay with a car. I personally love the Joju fries over the Kimichi fries. The Joju fries gives off a more flavorful taste with their mixture of dakion carrots, jalapenos, green sauce and spicy mayo while the kimichi fries is just spicy. The joju fries has different levels of spicy and sweet. Recommend adding a runny egg on top of any fries and sandwiches. Runny eggs added another level of flavor and texture. I always get their caramelized pork sandwich with a runny egg. Must reccomend the durian milkshake. Durian milkshake is a seasonable flavor. As I personally not a big fan, I must say, the milkshake uses real durian and its smooth and creamy. The smell is quite strong and it lingers but it's worth it. Joju does a stamp card system, one stamp for every $10 spent. Restroom is located in the back right. Restroom is clean but kinda small. They rarely have paper menus available. read more
