I just realized after almost 10 years that I don't think I have ever written a proper review on…read moreAmore, grooming, salon, and Amore's lovely owner, Raquel! My husband and I adopted an eight-year-old rescue little poodle who's in terrible condition and very timid so we were very concerned with who handled his grooming I forgot how I stumbled upon Amore but she did such a beautiful job on Max and was so patient with him it became a regular thing for her to pick him up and he would stay all day with her at the store and she would take her time grooming him so he wouldn't get upset or scared. Raquel helped us with our vision for a little Max. We just felt that he had been treated so horribly that we wanted him to have the best spa days and look fabulous when he left so we gave him a big mohawk and we would color it pet-safe colors According to whatever holiday was going on. And I developed quite an affection for Raquel. Raquel is a very rare person. You don't find people like her every day. She is pure at heart and will do anything to help an animal. Our max passed in 2022 six months later another poodle found its way to us along with a fox terrier a Pomeranian and my big dog Juliet who's 13 years old yesterday we went over to Amore and Raquel gave Juliet a mud bath for her skin and to help with her arthritis all the animals just really love her. They love the way she sings to them in Portuguese! She hugs them and kisses them and like I said she is pure of heart. I recommend her to all my friends and anyone who is looking for a kind, loving groomer that you can trust. I am so happy to say after all these years that I call Raquel my friend And I don't trust my dogs with anyone else. So attached are some pictures of my pack and all the cute little outfits that Raquel gifted them.! I don't TRUST ANYONE WITH MY ANIMALS EXCEPT RAQUEL!

They do a great job, and best of all for me, you don't need to call ahead--except during the height of the season and right around the holidays. I can just decide at the last minute and drop my dog off. I have an English Cocker Spaniel, but I don't go for the traditional Cocker Spaniel cut. I have them do a "puppy cut" for better snuggling. Though, as my baby is 14 years old, this haircut really accentuates her gray LOL.

I filled out an intake form and gave her the run down of my dog. She told me she only takes 1 dog at a time which made me feel comfort as I don't want to overwhelm my dog with multiple dogs around. You have to pick up your dog by a certain time if not you could possibly be charged another night. Therefore, since my plane was coming in alittle later I ask my best friend to pick my dog up for me. Upon me dropping my dog off Jen tells me she was going to take another dog because my dog seems "calm" but the dog started peeing everywhere and she declined to sit for that dog. That rubbed me wrong because during the initial meeting you stressed you only take 1 dog at a time. Mind you she has 1 dog herself and either 1 or 2 cats. Taking in another strangers dog on top of you already watching someone else's dog could lead to issues. Also while on my trip she barely gave me updates. Didn't check in and sent me 2 pictures the day I was coming home. Also when my friend picked up my dog Jen informed her he got out of the gate twice and she had to chase after him. I told her he was a runner n to be very mindful of him. What if my dog was hit by a car or stolen? Mind you Jen NEVER texted me and told me he ran away TWICE. She is extremely expensive....$40 a night. I paid you $150 for thrusday-mid afternoon Sunday and my dog could've been hurt or killed and he did not have your attention this weekend. Lastly, when my dog got home my friend put food in his bowl and he ate it all in one sitting. That is NOT my dog's eating pattern. He nibbled, walks away and eats throughout the day. He does not eat in one sitting. This tells me you where not making sure he was eating and the other dogs in your home most likely were eating his food. You told me if it was ok to put him in his crate to eat just in case your dog tries to eat his food....sounds like you asked a question you didn't adhere too. Lastly, my dog came back with fleas. Do u treat your yard and home? He did not come with fleas. He is a house dog. I had to give him a flea bath and take him to the visit for his open cuts on his tummy for scratching himself so bad. I will never bring my dog back to you and I would not recommend you to anyone.

I have left my dog buddy with kennels at some of the nicest vet hospitals in the area, only to come to find he'd been living in a small cage, on a cement floor, with 100+ dogs barking their heads off. Typically he would be given two 5 minute walks per day just to go to the bathroom, and would have no additional human interaction otherwise. At Matthew's Dog Sitting, Buddy gets 3 walks a day, has had his diet personally monitored and managed (in case he gets an upset tummy), 24 hour love and attention, and has even been allowed to sleep in their bed when he got terrified during a thunderstorm. I can't say how fortunate I am to have found this place for Buddy, and intend to continue taking him here as needed.
