The math teacher should not be teaching young children- she is rude, doesn't communicate well, she mocks the children (as I witnessed in online class) and my child who normally loved school, didn't want to go to math because of how rude she was. She taught them a phrase "chocolate chip, zip your lip" which I found, as well as other parents, was not appropriate. And the math curriculum they brought in was NOT customizable or user friendly. It was awful. And I brought it to the administration and basically was told "too bad". I spent countless hours reading, learning, trying to ensure my child learned in the best way possible & the only reason they worked with me was because my child had a 504 plan. It was a mess and we left because of these changes. It's truly sad because Mrs. Archibald is a saint and amazing at what she does, but she doesn't have the school mirroring her.

We were a PCS family for two years. We ended up withdrawing our daughter after several situations where we felt Christian values were not shown in how things were handled. When we brought concerns to administration, there was very little resolution, despite the emphasis on "collaboration." Our daughter had surgery during the same month the remaining balance was due. I tried to go in once to pay, but it was during a fire drill and I was told I'd need to come back. We were also contacted repeatedly while working, which was stressful. Then the balance was sent to collections by January. We truly do pray for the school and the families who are there... but this experience was extremely disappointing.

Ren prepared our daughter for a rigorous college prep program. Although she had some nervousness about final exams and needed a primer on letter grades and GPA, she was academically well-prepared. The girls who attend St Mary's after Ren School seem to excel. Most importantly, Ren was instrumental in helping my daughter develop a strong sense of herself. Ren's holistic approach to education, with a focus on social and emotional development, is stellar. It mattered to me that our daughter's education encompassed far more than just book learning. Over the years, she was nurtured and went from a timid and anxious child to a confident and creative young woman. As a college professor, I recognize the importance of academic preparedness. I also know that social and emotional stressors can make it challenging to learn. Being in a safe community where she was known and cared for by all the teachers meant the world to our family. The lead teachers here Faith, Michelle and Dana, have been wonderful and creative. I see all the fun crafts that the students create that help them learn their letters, numbers, shapes, seasons, phonics etc. I am so pleased with how my son has learned so many different things, both academically and socially. I have even had personal conversations with the teachers about being a new mom and have received heartfelt, godly and wise ideas about raising children. CCS has been a safe, godly haven for me to place my only son while I go to work all day. In addition, I hosted international students and have seen how the teachers work very hard to personally help the students who struggle in their school work. They would contact me and talk to me about my student and when I requested that they address certain issues my student had, they would do it in an encouraging way. I see how the high school teachers go out of their way to make their classes interesting and relevant, yet academically challe.
