Thanks to Groupon I know this gym exists. For under 75 bucks I got three months of membership as…read morewell as having the card fee waived. Now, I figured that was just some sort of stupid extra fee they tacked on to make it seem like I was getting more for my money. However, I didn't know that Diverge is actually open 24 hours and since they're not staffed the entire time the card key is actually quite integral to working out there-so it really is significant. The space is pretty small, but I'm so used to mega gyms that I think my sense of scale is off. However, they do have plenty of space for a little bit of everything. Cardio machines, racks, hammer strength machines, kettlebells, ropes, a little heavy bag and even bags, yes a bag filled with sand, it's one of those old/new trends that are becoming in vogue for fitness. The staff is super friendly, I've mostly interacted with Cindy who walked me through the place and is extremely friendly. J.P. is the other person I've spoken to the most and he's always amiable, and glad to see me here and inviting. I'm asked if I'm going to work out today whenever I walk in, even on my first day when I just came to sign up. Obviously, they really do care about being a place that cares for my fitness goals. Amenity wise I can not say enough, a cooler stacked with water bottles, towels of every different size for the weight floor, the sinks and showers. Shampoo, body wash, razors, cologne, even disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste in them. I literally have no reason to leave the gym if I forget anything. They have everything covered and I have no excuses.

My parents live in Columbus and I'm always on the search for a place to workout when I go visit…read morethem. I usually call around to various places looking to see if they offer drop-in rates. The problem I usually run into is that the locations don't offer anyone on-site on the weekends so I'm unable to pop in for a workout. Diverge offers a $15 drop-in rate. This is pretty steep for a one-time visit, but I thought I'd give it a try since they are close to my where my parents live. I had to hit a buzzer and wait for someone to come to the door and let me in. The guy working the front desk gave me a mini-orientation and showed me where everything was located. This place is pretty small, but they offer a large variety of equipment. They have very few cardio machines. I typically do group fitness classes so I tend to stick to the elliptical if I can't do my usual workouts. I headed over to the elliptical machines and started my workout. They have flat screens right in front of each machine if you like to watch tv. I more of a music person so I didn't watch the tv. I worked out for an hour on two different days and did not see another female either time. Good for me, I guess? All in all, this is a nice gym with really good equipment. I'm not sure what the monthly rates are, but I would think they are on the higher end based on the drop-in rate. They have a cooler with water bottles if you happen to leave yours at home.

Beginning the high-intensity interval training at Uncommon Athlete has been life changing. I feel no pressure. I am shocked by the often 1:1 attention I get from the coaches - I feel like I have a personal trainer. I enjoy the routines. My aches and pains are accomodated. My limits are pushed, by me and by the coaches. This is the first exercise regimen I have stuck with in more than 20 years. I haven't missed a week where I didn't get in my three classes. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, caring, courteous, and understanding. I cannot give a higher recommendation to this gym. If you need help, seek them out. If you are in a solo environment where you are now, switch to these guys. I you are in a toxic gym environment, leave now and seek out Uncommon Athlete. You will not regret it.

I arrived at this gym so out of shape and with several injuries. I explained to the staff my limitations and they worked around them and help me reach my fitness goals. Lost 30 pounds doing their programming! They also offer an online program, for those days that you can't make it, which I highly recommend!! Even if that doesn't convince you they offer this 3 day pass I believe, which allows you to check out the gym. Do it! You got nothing to loose, every workout is scalable and the coaches, Tyler, Dustin or Brandon will help!

However, the overall studio environment has changed quite a bit recently, and not in a positive direction. There has been frequent turnover in management, and the current leadership style feels disconnected from member input. Decisions are often made without considering how they affect the people who attend classes regularly. In addition, when classes are full, coaches and staff sometimes join in and share stations. This goes against the purpose of a capped class size and affects the structure that members are paying for. It's also uncomfortable to see staff reaching for heavier weights before paying members have the chance to do so. Another concern is the increase in talking during workouts, with little to no correction from the coach. It creates a distracting atmosphere and takes away from the focus many of us come for. There also seems to be a noticeable social divide; if you're not part of a certain group, it's easy to feel singled out or talked about. At times, the environment resembles a high‑school team dynamic--lots of side conversations, drama, and inconsistent effort. The workouts themselves are great, but the studio culture has shifted toward something that doesn't match the premium price point. Many of us come here to train seriously, not to feel like we're in a casual gym setting

I am writing this review to share an experience that has been deeply upsetting and disappointing…read more During a class at Orangetheory Fitness in Columbus, GA, a trainer made a comment during Black History Month asking members what their favorite cake was and added, "Don't say chocolate." I was the only Black member present at the time. That comment made me feel singled out and uncomfortable in what should be a supportive and inclusive environment. In addition, my interactions with Kayla left me feeling unwelcome and dismissed. There were moments where her tone and demeanor toward me felt noticeably different, which added to an overall sense of isolation. The situation escalated when I decided to address my concerns. When discussing my membership, Avery, who is listed as an assistant manager, handled the situation in a way that felt publicly embarrassing rather than professional or discreet. As a member, I expected privacy and respect when making personal decisions about my membership. After I shared my experience on TikTok, I experienced further distress when Avery engaged indirectly through comments associated with her family. Instead of reaching out to resolve the issue constructively, the response felt dismissive and unprofessional. As a veteran and paying member, I value respect, accountability, and professionalism. I did not feel those standards were upheld in this situation. I am sharing this not to attack anyone, but because no one should feel uncomfortable, singled out, or embarrassed in a space meant to promote health and community. I sincerely hope leadership reflects on this and works to ensure all members feel welcome and respected moving forward. My tick is @jayilysm . my review had went viral and others expressed the same concerns as i.
