I enjoyed my visit. I didn't know much about Scottish American John Muir beforehand only that there's a trail named in his honour: John Muir way, so i left the museum knowing a lot more about the boy from Dunbar, the man and the legacy he left. He was a naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and advocate for the preservation of wilderness. Through his writings, journals and sketches we probably wouldn't have Yosemite National Park as we know it today or the creation of the Grand Canyon, In the museum is 3 floors of written information, interesting artefacts and a documentary. The gift shop is small but you will find a map of John's muir's way and nature related gifts. read more
