So I found a great piano tuner (Jaid Smith) that agreed to tune my piano to this frequency. He was very intrigued and did not give me a hundred reasons why this was impractical. Well I love the sound and the 1960's Baldwin grand piano didn't mind it at all. Jaid was very thorough in cleaning out the piano and readjusting the registers. This may be the only 432 hz piano in Portland but there may be other musicians out there that have researched the benefits of this tuning. I highly recommend Jaid for this or just standard tuning.

The Little Orchestra Piano Tuning and Rebuilding Shop is one of the best service businesses I have…read moreever worked with, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! I called several piano shops in the area for a quote on a very small repair and was shocked by the prices. Some companies insisted that I needed a full service package with tuning included, even though that wasn't what I needed or wanted. Then I found Britney. She was honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful from the very beginning. She quickly identified the problem, repaired exactly what was wrong in about 15 minutes, and charged a very reasonable fee--far less than what I had been led to expect by other shops. What impressed me most was that Britney took the time to answer all of our questions and never tried to sell us services we didn't need. It's rare to find someone with this level of integrity, expertise, and customer care. If you're looking for a piano technician who is skilled, trustworthy, fair, and genuinely cares about her customers, look no further than The Little Orchestra Piano Tuning and Rebuilding Shop. We will absolutely use them again and will recommend them to all our family and friends!

I reached out for a consultation, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Laura, the piano technician, is a true perfectionist. She examined every detail of the piano, pointed out a small crack near the lowest key, explained the potential impact, and advised me on a fair price. Her insights were invaluable. I appreciated how she was understanding and patient. She emphasized that I, as the owner, should love the sound of the piano. Also, as it was quite a big purchase for me, I couldn't make a decision. She patiently advised me that either way was fine. This interaction with her made me love my piano more after I purchased. After I bought it (negotiating the price based on her recommendation), I had her tune it about a month after the move to allow the piano to settle. The piano hadn't been tuned in over five years, so many keys were flat, and some were even sticking. She meticulously went through each key, ensuring everything was perfectly adjusted. I've had pianos tuned before, but this was by far the most thorough tuning I've ever seen. She is timely, professional, kind, and deeply knowledgeable. I'm incredibly grateful for her work and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for piano consultation or tuning!
