I had a Papilla Repair surgery with Dr. Nordland in July 2023. I had an accident in New York where…read moreI slipped and fell. After the trauma, I had a big black triangle near my front teeth and incisors. Every periodontist from Dr. Pasquinelli in SF to a famous one in NYC said it's impossible to fix the papilla. It's one of the hardest thing to do as a periodontist. Then I found Dr. Nordland's website and flew in for a consultation. He said he could do it. I was skeptical at first. Some of the reviews were daunting and made me doubt Dr. Nordland. I went on my gut and did the surgery. Right after the surgery, it looked like it worked, but it slowly started retracting. I was so angry that I even wrote an email saying how dissatisfied I was with the surgery after 3 months. Little did I know the healing is a 2 yr process. After 2 yrs, my dentist said my gums looks really good and it's amazing what the surgery did. What Dr. Norland did was place a graft and over time that graft will grow towards the teeth. I'm here to apologize to Dr. Nordland and hoping this review will help others find him. The office and staff are awesome!

I used to be super fearful of the dentist because of trauma from when I was a child; I wouldn't even be able to sit still while getting my teeth cleaned because I would be so nervous of anything even touching my teeth! The office is stunning and the staff is awesome. I recently got my cleaning done by Mandy and she did such a great job. My teeth feel so nice and clean and it didn't hurt at all. I had stains on my teeth from drinking so much green tea and matcha and she was able to remove all the stains without having to do any bleaching. I'm still in awe of how white and stain-free my teeth are. She did this quick and painless procedure called "sand-blasting" to help get rid of the stains. Her assistant Jessica was really nice and gentle as well. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a new dental home!

I never thought I'd say I love going to the dentist!…read more It's no wonder they've won Best Dental Office in San Diego 2025. From the moment you walk in, Amy and Shelby at the front desk make everything so easy and welcoming -- whether it's scheduling appointments or navigating payments, they're always so friendly and helpful. My very first visit here was such a game changer. They make you feel completely comfortable with blankets, iPads, and even letting me watch my favorite reality TV shows while getting work done -- something I never thought I'd actually look forward to at the dentist! The amazing team of Bre, Cat, Alejandra, and Chica has kept my teeth healthy, straight, and sparkling clean. They also helped me through clear aligners, fixing teeth that had shifted since braces, and I couldn't be happier with the results. All of this is under the guidance and expertise of my Dentist, Dr. Aramoon, who is lovely. She has transformed my smile in and has given me so much confidence. So far, I've had aligners, cleanings (both regular and deep), and bonding done here -- and in the future I'm even considering veneers with them because I know I'd be in the best hands. This office has completely changed how I feel about dental care. If you want a place where you'll actually enjoy going to the dentist, this is it!

Stephen Kallaos was referred to me from my dentist at Yorba Linda Smiles. I went in for cleaning…read moreand told my dentist sometimes I have a bit of sensitivity on one side. She noticed some receded gum. I met Dr. Kallaos two days later @ 4 PM, 4 days before Christmas. He told I needed a tissue graph but COMPLETELY MANIPULATED the procedure to sound like there was no downtime. He told me I couldn't eat popcorn or chia seeds for a week. That was it. Right before he started the surgery I asked him- so anything else other than no popcorn or chia seeds for a week? He said let's start and then I will go over details after. Even the way he glazed over that made it sound like maybe there were a couple more foods I should avoid, but not that this is surgery with downtime. He actively avoided telling me I was having a surgery with a 2 week recovery. He preformed the surgery that night. He was extremely aggressive. I think he has personal problems and using the profession as a cover. He should not be allowed to practice. I just know it wasn't right what was happening. I started bruising that night. The next day I had a huge amount of swelling, bruising, and pain. He did not check in the next day. I messaged him and expressed how I was upset he did not tell me this was a surgery with downtime. That there was no need to do the surgery that night. I basically asked him why he would do this to a person right before Christmas/lie about what he was doing? I told him I had to cancel important appointments the next day and day after. He asked for pictures, said he could see why I was concerned and prescribed more meds. He said sorry he did not communicate. Then he never checked on me again. He went out of his way to withhold that this is a surgery with downtime. It was no accident or miscommunication. I even had a bruise on my neck that showed up about 5 days later. I barely could open my mouth the day after. I certainly did not have Christmas. I tried to paint over the bruises (make up would not cover), but still was in too much pain to visit. Oh, and something just kinda odd - when he was describing to me my gum recession he would refer to where the tooth splits in two as the "crotch" of the tooth. Anyway, currently I still have some bruising and more recovering. I am missing New Year's celebration. I am not feeling sorry for myself- I just have had to cancel many engagements and responsibilities, because Dr. Kalloas wanted to do this surgery. He wanted to do this surgery so bad that night that he flat out lied to trick a person. A doctor should have some integrity, I did not consent to what he did to me. I will never go back to that building, back to my regular dentist, or back to him for my recheck.

Gum graft performed. Was diagnosed to do two teeth, charged for two teeth. After surgery found he…read moreonly did one tooth. He forgot! Gave me runaround about both teeth getting worked on, but one needed less work. You can clearly see only one tooth has a lump of tissue and stitches but they tried to lie about it! Dr admitted it later. This is the most painful recovery! After the excruciating pain that I'm enduring (surgery was 6 days ago - still in horrible pain, even with major narcotic pain meds - can't eat or drink without severe pain) and a recovery period of two weeks or more, I have to endure this again because Dr. Steven Kalous forgot to do the second tooth (which is directly adjacent to the tooth he did - and he was the one who diagnosed me needing both teeth done!). To make things worse, I read online that modern methods including stitching harvest area closed, providing a stint, and packing material to cover open wound on roof of mouth, weren't mentioned or offered. This is medieval torture, especially knowing that he could have done more to make me comfortable. The pain meds barely help at all. The worst part is that I have to endure this again - but I won't be going to this guy for the next procedure, or anything ever again!
