Paula Canny is an amazing lawyer! She is the only attorney I have ever seen that actually puts…read moreforth the effort to fight for her client. If you are looking for an attorney to coddle you, and make you feel better, before he pleads you out, go somewhere else. She will be brutally honest. If you did something stupid, she is going to tell you exactly what she thinks. She fights the system, when she thinks it's wrong. I have met very few people with such integrity.

Melanie Emmons and Bruce Feder (Kato, Feder & Suzuki) billed over $500,000 during the original conservatorship process and are now attempting to double bill for another $22,000, despite not having represented me for nearly two years. Bruce Feder is retired and avoids litigation like the plague. Melanie Emmons -- a parent herself -- should know better than to drain a disabled child's care fund to pay her mortgage. The moral line here has clearly vanished. To make matters worse, the court-appointed attorney Melissa Karlsten, who has made decisions against my son's best interest, is allegedly a close friend of Emmons. Their former ally, Debra Dolch, and her partner Deb Fox, quietly resigned and passed the trust to the public guardian without notifying me -- a calculated betrayal. They removed me as conservator to avoid placing Jack in a proper residential home. And now they're billing his trust while denying me a legal defense. Paula Canny, who was the catalyst, drafted the trust and encouraged it be made "special needs" with Ken Horowitz, has also disappeared -- she recommended Melanie Emmons. Horowitz wouldn't even return a phone call after getting my signature. He was employed by my brother in law- said other beneficiary. My message to anyone dealing with this firm or circle of "professionals": stay far away. If you have a vulnerable family member or special needs child, you must be extra cautious. What happened to my son Jack should never happen to another family. Paula Canny could have easily corrected the issue, or retracted the trust, but made it worse. Now I have no limited -conservatorship, no fiduciary to handle the trust, and the public guardian has access to both. A trust I devised with Paula Canny. I currently can only visit my 22 year old son, Jack Moravcsik, once a day, and know nothing about him as if I am a criminal. I was the conservator. Gross negligence by Paula Canny. She wouldn't even show in court, to defend me as promised, calling my second attorney to protect herself. My second attorney quit after those chats. Lots of mutual backs scratching. Disgusting. Tried reporting her to the California Bar Association. Another group that protects their own. Parasitic troths.
