I've been living in Fayetteville for just over a year now and this gym is one of the best things…read morethis city has to offer. Its a large warehouse tucked away, in the back of a carpet store, so you may miss it if you are not looking. From the outside you may first think, "hmmm she doesn't look like much." But trust me she's got it where it counts. I only really know one of the owners, Heather, and she is super friendly, professional, and very active in the happenings of the gym. There are about ~5 different receptionists that I know of, that rotate and work the front desk. They are all very knowledgable, either in one or more of these activities: climbing, crossfit, MMA, and even yoga (offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays). When you first enter the gym they have a nifty little store to your right, that carries various gear (i.e. mostly climbing gear, shoes, bags, ropes, Vibram shoes, and clothing). Then there is also a sitting area where you can let your kids play on their laptop while you squeeze in a workout. When you leave the front lobby area and enter the main climbing section there are several towers set up for top roping and lead climbing. My favorite place here is the bouldering wall (with top off). The staff is pretty good about changing the routes as much as possible to keep things new. But be warned, there is a certain setter here that grades a bit harder, V1 may actually be a V2, and V3 may be a V5. But that being said the setters, are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They (or he specifically) will be glad to give you beta when you need it. I also feel that the setters personally take it upon themselves to set routes for the regulars. My level is roughly V2, and there is always plenty of V2s set up, also one time one of the routers even said he'd set that route especially for me. Talk about good service! I could spend hours in the climbing gym playing around with the routes or just chatting it up with the employees. This is one of my most enjoyed pastimes here in Fayetteville. Now for a review of the Crossfit section. The head-trainer of Redpoint Crossfit, Nate S, is one of the top crossfit athletes in the Mid-Atlantic region and even got 2nd place for the regional competition and in turn qualified for the 2011 Crossfit Games. Its great to have that kind of ability training you everyday. The other trainers are no less impressive, Stacy, Dave, Ian, Ivette, Armand, Richard, Amanda, etc are just as talented and as dedicated as the best of them. This gym is really good about making you stronger, no matter what shape you arrive in. I was new to Crossfit when I first started at Redpoint a year ago and now I am lifting my own weight, and doing pull-ups and push-ups like its nothing. I highly recommend Redpoint Crossfit for any Fayettevillers out there. Not only is the training superb, but also the local Redpoint community is a nice bonus. Every now and then someone will arrange a fun beach workout, or 5K, or a community service activity, potluck, etc where everyone can get together and have a good time. Its a good place to be. Then there is the MMA. I have to be honest I have not participated one iota of my time here (partially because I am the size of an ant and I don't want to get stomped). But I have heard its a stellar operation. The head trainer Sam V, is always getting some kind of trophy for kicking butt and taking names. So theres that. To summarize this gym has got it going on, the climbing, the crossfit, the community, the atmosphere, the everything. Its a great find and a good investment.

All the money this club chain is making alone in Fayetteville and the locations are disgusting, raggedy, and need to be 19.99!! Those who have the grandfather rate, kudos to you, because I'll be going to Fitness Connection its not worth your money. The facility at Fitness I know is clean, especially the restrooms. I don't care when I go to Owen/All American location, there's no soap, or the dispenser is not working. There are cleaners, but it doesn't look clean, the paper towel dispenser is empty, the bottles aren't filled up, and the bathrooms before the staff leaves are a mess. The better facility is the Raeford, even though they don't have a water bottle fountain! The next worst location is Hopemills! The setup is horrible, especially for an aerobics class. You have to share a fan, which is hazardous once everyone starts sweating and the windows start fogging up due to poor ventilation. We're not going to start with the tiny little people sauna at Hopemills, despite it being said that All American was getting a tiny sauna too. The location was closed for two days and reopened to reveal an unclean building with no new sauna or mountain climbing wall. Raeford advertised new equipment being cardio machine, but I haven't noticed anything new. Overall, the equipment is Old and dated, especially the cardio machine at Gillis Hill, the spin class offered in Hopemills, All American, and Raeford. Most bikes don't work, or straps are missing or broken, no fan, have your insurance active for 911. Gillis Hill's gym on hell, heat rises, be hydrated or you'll pass out. I do like the gym manager in Raeford; he's polite, friendly, and not fat, unlike some managers at gyms. Overall, the class selections suck, and the good ones are offered only in the morning. If you have ever experienced Body Pump and you loved it, don't sign up at Fit 4Life, go to Fitness Connection, there's no class in Fayetteville, NC!! Spin, I will say you'll love it, especially with Tia at Hope Mills and Andrea in Raeford! They have a 5 am versus 6 am spin, which are the earliest during the week, but these instructors work full-time jobs. Aerobics classes doesn't have cushioned flooring so hard impact and you have to go on the floor to get equipment, it doesn't have its own equipment. Aerobics isn't important to the company and only one instructor is smart maybe two and have functioning head sets so you can hear them over the load cardio music, thank you Tia! Can't wait to cancel my membership. They clean once a month, or every two months, dirty facility, and old broke down equipment.

A lot of people assume a bigger gym will be less crowded, but I've found the opposite to be true. Second, the atmosphere is great--just regular people working out without any "influencer" or "muscle head" vibes. What makes this gym stand out is that it feels a step above places like Planet Fitness or Youfit because the people here seem to know their way around fitness. I really enjoy their "record board" that tracks personal lifting records. It lets me be a little competitive with others without them even knowing it--definitely a fun motivator! Signing up was super easy, thanks to their acceptance of Active&Fit Direct memberships, which makes both joining and canceling simple--perfect for someone like me who moves around a lot. Management is very laid back, and I appreciated the casual sign-up process with no pushy sales tactics. One of my favorite things is the mini fridge stocked with water and energy drinks, which works on the honor system. It really adds to the friendly, community vibe. The Synergy 360 workout rack is awesome, and they have a great selection of workout bands, kettlebells, and weight belts you can borrow. They also have the best variety of cable machine handles I've seen--my favorite is the cable rope attachment. A quick note about the bathrooms--they're pretty minimal. I don't have much to say about them since I've only used one once... and that was because the pre-workout hit different that day, if you catch my drift. The only downside is the limited space, which means they usually have only 1-2 of each machine, like a single squat rack and one leg press. If you're set on using a specific machine, you might have to wait. If you need things like rows of spin bikes, tires to flip, or a dedicated deadlifting platform, this might not be the gym for you. But trust me, you can still get a great workout here. One of the biggest perks is that, just like the name says, you can work out anytime. The gym is open 24/7, and members get a key fob that lets you scan in whenever you want, which is super convenient if you have a busy or unpredictable schedule. Parking is super easy, and there are usually just a few cars in the lot next to the gym. A fun fact--there's a reserved spot for the "Gym Member of the Month" right up front. I parked there every morning for my first two weeks, thinking I was lucky no one else was taking it... until I realized it was clearly marked. I'm sure people thought I was a bit of an asshole for always taking it! TL;DR You'll Like: - Not too crowded, especially in the mornings - Friendly, no-pressure atmosphere - Easy sign-up and cancellation with Active&Fit Direct - Honor system mini fridge with drinks - Record board for tracking personal bests - Great variety of cable machine handles - Convenient parking with plenty of space - 24/7 access with a key fob What You Might Not Like: - Limited equipment due to small space (only 1-2 of each machine) - Might have to wait for popular machines/equipment like the squat rack or bench press - No large group fitness areas or specialty equipment like spin bikes or deadlift platforms - Minimal bathroom setup

I cancelled my membership 5 months ago due to moving out of state, and yet I just received an email from a debt collector stating that Spa Fitness submitted to them that I owe over $3,000. Even if I had kept my membership for the past 5 months it would be nowhere near that much money. They are definitely trying to run some sort of scam by "collecting debt" that are not owed to them. And they lie to you when you sign up, Leslie (pretty sure that was her name) had given me paperwork that she had signed stating that when I was ready to cancel just submit it and I wouldn't have any problems. Said the paperwork was given to military members when they PCS. It was literally useless. Please don't waste your time here.
