This was a cute little Irish Pub located on a side street in Rome! We came here with the…read moreintentions of watching the Champion's League Final while we were traveling in Rome. They had lots of TVs scattered throughout the pub with sports on. There are lots of draft beers to choose from as well as bottles and cans. My only issue was there was no food and no air conditioning. As you could imagine, it got really hot in there in June. Luckily, there are multiple take away restaurants on that same street so it was easy to go grab some food and bring it back to the pub. Service was friendly enough. I would recommend stopping by Finnegan's when you're in Rome.

I was pleasantly surprised because it is a little oasis away from the pizza and pasta that fills the streets in Rome. Yes, it's Rome and what does one expect, I get it. Still, it was a nice little break. When you step in you are transported out of Rome and into an Irish pub. Music, decorations, etc are all what one might find in a corner bar that calls itself an Irish pub. No, it won't fool true Irish pub-goers, but it's a passable way to escape the Aperol and wine of most of Rome. The bartender was nice and she took our order and told us to grab a seat and she delivered the drinks. It was about 6pm and they weren't busy and since I didn't see any other servers, it was nice that she did that. Overall, a nice little change of pace. If you need a break from all Rome all the time, maybe consider popping in here for a pint.

On our first night here we ate at one of the many italian spots in the neighborhood. I liked it but my picky 21 year old son didn't. The next night I got lost and then saw the name Sloppy Sam's and figured it had more of a tourist type menu. As it turned out it didn't - but it didn't matter. We were eating early (before 7) and we got an outside table. My daughter ordered what she thought was a vegetarian dish - but it wasn't - she switched with my wife. They both enjoyed their meal, but not as much as my other daughter and me. We both ordered lasagne and it was - by far - the best I had ever had. My picky son ordered some sort of salad that he enjoyed very much. The service was fantastic - the beers on tap were tasty and sitting outside and seeing my family enjoy such a different environment was priceless to me. Thanks Sloppy Sam's.

The food menu is strange but I do recommend trying a few offerings. I got the new yorker, a buttered bagel with bresaola, unexpectedly delicious and affordable. They also have a great selection of beers to choose from and plenty of seating for large crowds down to small nooks for your friends to gather. Keep in mind there is no table service so go to the bar to get your drinks! Can't wait to come back and see some old friends!

Large bar with seating (rare in Europe) and shoulder to shoulder people having fun. You are literally underground so the cell service is non existent. I was partched after visiting the Trevi fountain. I was approached by a group of fun loving Aussie's (as if there were any other kind) ! They were wandering aimlessly looking for a pub, and I was heading to one seemed like a good fit, so I asked if they wanted to go. They were all in. Good beer good folks it's a win win!!
