In the past that was not the policy and i was not informed. I have spent thousands of dollars as a student there. Being asked for my address. Being told it eill be sent out. After not receiving it and called again. A message was sent on my phone stating they have a policy not to refund the money if not requested in that year. This policy change should have been made clear to me from the beginning. I am appalled

William Holland really is a unique place full of some really talented, kind, and knowledgeable individuals that are willing and wanting to share what they've learned about the craft. One main thing that's impressive about the week-long courses here is that it costs less than a typical hotel room and you get the class, a room, and 3 meals a day! You seriously can't beat that. All of the instructors are volunteers, meaning they are incredibly passionate about what they do to be here and spend their time teaching full-day classes. My favorite course was inlay with Chuck Bruce- he's really the best teacher I've ever had! Not only is he a talented jeweler making a living off of his work, he knows to to explain things very well in thorough demos. You can tell how excited he is about the class and his devotion to his students. The landscape in the mountains of north Georgia was a great escape from flat Florida and I loved the sweet smell in the air here. This is a great place for anyone who wants to learn a new craft and immerse yourself in a really wonderful community of artists for a steal.

Western Carolina University is amazing!!…read more As I write this review I am a Junior. I love Western Carolina because ALL of the staff are really nice and respectful. The professors, janitors, student workers, peers... everyone! I have never had a professor here who was hard to deal with. Each are very unique and well experienced in what they teach. The first two years you must live on campus, which can be hard to adjust to, but in the end, gives you a great experience that will be worth the while. The campus is really beautiful and there are many things to do. The gym is really nice and it is two stories. There is a track, weight lifting equipment, treadmills and various cardio machines, a rock wall, and a basketball court which can double as a volleyball court. You can rent games or sports equipment with your cat card. Western also hosts tons of events like concerts, fairs, karaoke, etc... All of which are free to WCU students. The sporting events are also free to students because it is covered by the athletic fee. They are very cool to attend. Western Carolina is also very accessible to students and people with disabilities. We are the first school in the country to offer a University Participant program (UP), offering students with disabilities a chance to come to college for 2 years and gain college life experience. The program helps individuals to become more independent so that they can one day live on their own and have a job for themselves. The UP students are not separated from other students, rather, they are included in the mix with all other students and their classes. It's great! Let's talk tuition! Compared to other universities in North Carolina, Western is pretty cheap. We have NC promise which takes a lot off of tuition, and also, books here are free (very, very, few classes require out of pocket book fees) I have met out of state students who have come to Western because it is cheaper for them to pay out of state tuition here than it is for them to pay in state in their own states!

We took a tour of the campus. Our tour guides gave a 5 star tour. I was very impressed with their…read moreenthusiasm and knowledge of the campus. The campus is beautiful and it seems like a tight knit community. It is nestled in the beautiful mountains of NC. Schedule a tour!
