I'm from Columbus, Ohio where we know a thing or two about a thing or two. Winning traditions and Pizza. So I found myself in Onley, Illinois on a Tuesday night. Hungry. Tired. And did I mention hungry. Based upon some recommendations I came in and wanted to see if the spot was what I wanted and it delivered. Well I did not have the pizza deliver but well you know. In a single room I walked in and found the spot crowded but still had a space for me. I sat down and was greeted promptly. Ordered some toasted ravioli and then followed up with a thin crust Joes Deluxe. Ravioli arrived and a whiff told me things my sight could not discern. Aromatic equated to delightful. At first sight this must have been made in house. A bite. Come on man. Packing a serious punch. Dipped in the accompanying sauce meatier à la plentiful. I devoured the order. Then the pizza arrived. Let me pause here. The toppings underneath the cheese. Is it possible they were sautéed? For me??? The sausage just spicy enough to keep it interesting. The pepperonis bathed in a sweetness of saucy perfection . Is that hints of basil, simmered perfection? Maybe a family tradition and the only way they could figure out to make it. Like it was a real functioning kitchen. The prep line was not just any prep line. Like Leonardo didn't have just an ordinary paint studio. This was not a Ford pizza factory. They are making some serious Maserati's up in this piece. The ambience. Circa Pizza Hut 1972 or so. I loved every second of it. Talk about some of the best pizza and pasta around. This place is amazing. The sauce is a little sweet which makes it different then most. Do a joboli or any of their pizzas. Their bosco sticks with the red sauce and cheese mix is great. read more

We went here based on the decent reviews.And unfortunately, we did not have a very good experience. The pizza was just meh. That would have been okay, but the customer service was terrible. They were not crowded, and we kept wondering if they were going to come check on us. No one did, so I got up to get our drink refills, and they were just hanging out in the kitchen. I would think somebody might come check on us after that, but no, they didn't. Ended up going to get my to go box myself and they were still hanging out in the kitchen. Went up to pay my bill, and it seemed a little high. They don't give you an itemized receipt so i asked about it. They charged me $2.00 for taking one ingredient off my pizza and substituting a different one. Um, some people have allergies. I asked him if he was kidding and he said, no, even though it was an even exchange. Glad we found out about this place before ordering for our large group the next night. We ended up ordering from a different local Pizza place. Over $200 was spent there and well worth it. I don't think joe's could care less if they get repeat business. read more

We had good food, good service, and a comfortable environment in a location right next to the high school and athletic events.

Food is delicious, and I highly recommend breadsticks. The service is always quick and the workers are kind and understanding, and also very patient if you are slower with your money. The atmosphere overall is clean and lively, giving it a homely vibe and a welcoming energy. read more

Great pizza, with a good atmosphere. The pizza is very good and so are the breadsticks. Probably the best pizza in Olney (maybe tied with Bobe's). Joe's pizza sauce is unique and has a sweet taste. Excellent! Delivery can be a little slow during their busy times so we usually just go pick it up. read more

Had the spaghetti with meatballs. Service was good, waitress took my drink order and food order immediately. Drink was brought, food followed in about 10 minutes. Spaghetti was very good, sauce tasted like homemade. Excellent. The meatballs tasted fresh, but had no flavor, could not taste any seasonings at all. Was also served a piece of bread with butter with meal. Was told that's what they call garlic bread. No garlic, bread was wet from butter and soggy, not toasted. Never approached by wait staff after meal was brought. Finally just went up to cashier to pay. Over all, disappointed. Only redeeming item was the spaghetti and sauce. read more

Delicious pizza. We had the Sicilian and the Joe's Special. Each pizza was unique and tasty. We really enjoyed dipping the Sicilian pieces in their wonderful red sauce. Highly suggest eating here. read more

This is my favorite pizza place in town (and that says a lot when you live in a town with 4 pizza places). The bosco sticks are super delicious and the Chicago style pizza is so good. The sauce is very sweet but I love it, its iconic. Its the sauce that tastes like Joes Pizza. They also have past dishes and salads and desserts, however I've never strayed from the pizza to try them. The waitresses are also super nice, I went to school with some of them. The prices are also really good, why spend the same amount at Domino's when you can come support a local business with delicious food. read more

Great pizza. Was held over at Walmart DC and they were the only restaurant that would deliver. That worked out well for me because it was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. Had to wait an hour for delivery but since it was 8pm on a Saturday night, I understood. Anyway, I know where I'll be eating pizza next time I'm laid over in Olney, IL. read more

One of the things I always look forward to when I visit Olney, IL is a trip to Joe's, usually take out. While it is in an older building next to the high school. It is a true small town family owned establishment with great pizza and sauce that makes what ever you are eating great. read more

So starting out this place is a good family owned restaurant, but walking into the restaurant I have noticed a few minor details that could really help this business.. those details include things like the employee dress code wearing booty shorts and sports outfits shows relaxed and lazy, in the kitchen none of the cooks wear gloves or wash their hands after doing certain things before touching food, things that include touching their faces or pulling a wedgie out of their butt cracks, also no one is wearing a hair net of any kind either on the hair of their heads or beard nets for the male employees, next thing when a customer walked in for the pickup order not a single employee went up to take care of the customer the owners wife had to stop eating to help the customer. Onto the next subject the men's restroom, it was a little on the off side it was clean but not Hilton hotel clean it was more along the lines of motel 6 clean and it's as bad when the paper towel dispenser doesn't work properly. Now the women's restroom I can't do a review on it since it's not my place to enter, sorry ladies. But to tie up my review I'd come here but I'd be careful needs better cleaning and hygiene for employees. And they need to update the decoration it shows family but it shows outdated. read more

I grew up with Joe's Pizza. When I first went there his boy was still in diapers. In fact, Joe's was the VERY first pizza I ever had! (I went on to own two pizza restaurants of my own.) I have always thought that Joe's made great pizza...but was it just the nostalgia and memories or is it really good pizza? When I was back in town I decided to give it another try. I usually enjoy Joe's pizza, even after noticing the terrible customer service. The past several times I've ordered, however, the food quality has been very poor. In particular, the last time I ordered pizza and breadsticks, one side of the breadsticks and the bottom of the pizza was burnt. My order this evening consisted of a pizza and subs. I always order my subs the same way and quite often. Tonight they put no lettuce or tomato on my sandwiches, only ham, and my chips were soft and stale feeling due to sitting too long with the heat from the sub. To top it off, when I called and politely discussed the matter, I was told I needed to specifically tell them what I wanted on my sandwich (even though I've never had to before) and that there was nothing they could do about the matter. I told them I'd gladly pay extra if they'd just send lettuce and tomato over. So I'm sitting here eating stale chips and waiting for lettuce and tomato to get here so I can eat a cold and hard sub at this point. I probably will never order from them again mainly due to the absurdity and rudeness tonight. I believe it was the owner unfortunately. Save your money. read more

The best pizza I have ever eaten and I am including Giordanos and Lou Malnati's in Chicago! The best tip I can give you is to order your favorite pizza with extra sauce. They have a full Italian menu that is very good but I love the pizza so much I rarely try anything else. read more
