I asked the barber for a fade from a 1 (that's 1/8 an inch). Looks like instead, we shaved the sides and back without changing the guard once. There was no edge-work and the general shape of my hair was very inconsistent and poor. I want to be clear that I did not ask specifically for the barber to edge me up, but this should be expected of a fade. Under different circumstances, I would have told my barber to fix a bad edge job (for instance, above my ears), but I could tell we were uncomfortable with both fading and cutting curly hair, so I cut my losses and paid for the cut. Let the pictures speak for themselves. It would be different if this were a women's salon or a Supercuts or something, but if "barbershop" is in the name you should know how to do a fade. Again, I wish these barbers the best and I really hope they will put forth the effort to learn to do common haircuts consistently. Perhaps this cut was a fluke, but it was bad enough to scare me away for good.

If you enter the front door beware the threshold will trip you up. The place is a dump it is in dire need of a remodel. Hair is all over the floor and the staff is very unfriendly. One barber Ben will not stop talking even when it is busy. The magazines are ancient and the seating is very uncomfortable. The female barber is very opinionated and is contrarian. She had been terminated by the owner of a different barber shop for trying to run the business her way. There is an unkempt and long haired barber who cannot follow instructions. Upon going to the cash register the owner will announces in a loud voice, "Do want to leave a tip." I will pay a little more money for a professional establishment and a professional staff. They are reminiscent of right wink political party founded in 1865 in Pulaski Tennessee. There is no bathroom and the staff will take lunch no matter how busy it is. Avoid at all costs just put a bowl over your head and it start cutting as you will be much happier.
