Serious bike shop for serious cyclists, specialising in supply to clubs, whom they support by donating a portion of their profits. (Details on website).
However, we are not mad keen bikers. We wanted two leisure bikes for trolling round on canal banks, riverbanks, bottoms of valleys, and anywhere else where the terrain is flat!!
Our needs were quickly understood, and we had the impression that we were treated just as seriously as someone spending 2000 euros on a bike.
We were given explanations, and rationale for the explanations. We were offered a substantial discount on a 2008 model, as the 2009 ones were starting to come into stock. A printed quotation for two bikes was given to us. We were not pressured into buying, and as we left the shop in our car, a member of staff ran out to us to give us an up-to-date - and quite expensive - catalogue from the manufacturer of the bikes we were interested in.
A couple days later, after visits to other bike shops, we went back to this store and made a final choice, selecting one bike that was cheaper than one quoted for before. Once again, we were treated in an excellent fashion.
Having made our choices, and the delays in delivery explained patiently, we were measured. Height, inside leg, distance from saddle to neck Very impressive.
A 30% deposit was requested, and we went off with the correct paperwork, showing our order and our deposit. All very proper and professional.
The shop sells a lot of cycling accessories, from pumps to pro clothing. It is a cyclist's paradise. Our experience shows that even the rank amateur, the family pootler, can benefit from sound advice and specialist knowledge. read more
