All three of my daughters have attended Valley Christian Academy. This school is a wonderful…read moretestimony to the values and character that should be given to all of our children. All support staff and teachers are professional and filled with the love of GOD through a giving/teaching heart. Valley Christian Academy Santa Maria California truly cares about teaching/partnering "with you" so your child will have the character, love of GOD and the academic readiness to face this the liberal world. If you pray for your child to learn with high academic goals, learn in a GODLY Christian environment to respect others, build character and build everything around the love and grace of GOD, this is the school for you. Best, Trudy Govers, Santa Maria California.

I will never recover from the trauma and abuse I endured at Valley Christian Academy. As an adult,…read moreI have been diagnosed with C-PTSD in relation to my experiences there. I left after Junior High without a will to continue living. I only remember bits and pieces of 5th grade. In 6th grade, we were taken to Ironwood Christian Camp for a week to be 'broken and reshapen in the image of God like Adam at an age we need it most,' where I was physically, spiritually, and emotionally abused by the adults responsible for my safety. We had to swim in a lake we were told "natoriously gives rashes to whoever showers last." Then, I was TOLD to shower last by Cindy Mudgett. The next morning, Ms Mudgett woke me up cheerfully telling me it was time to hike to Soldier Mountian. (Previous to the trip, we were told this hike is extreme, and optional.) I told her no. I told her I had a horrible rash between my legs and on my skin and that it hurt to walk. She smiled so sadistically I will never forget it, and she said "too bad, get up you have 5 minutes." while threatening to grab my blankets. I proceeded to hike for hours without any food or water. My whole class was crying because the hike was so hard, and we were only 11 or 12 years old. We were told the point was to feel 'God help you get to the top.' Cindy Mudgett still works at the school. I have plenty of memories of Joel preaching/shouting to us as children in chapel to what can be summerized as "why white male superiority is important: God says so." I felt empowered to leave a review after seeing some of the other ones left here. I am so heartbroken knowing my parents paid tens of thousands of dollars throughout the years for my education of memorizing Bible verses and having things like 'damnation' be my volcabulary words. If you love your children, do not send them to Valley Christan Academy. They will attempt to break the personaility out of them.

I came to Columbia Childrens Center from a number of different child care/day care places for my…read moreson who is 3 years old and only with me for 2 to 3 weeks at a time before heading to his mother's for the same time period. I was impressed with management team of Columbia to be willing to work something out with me to allow my son to become a member of Columbia Childrens Center. My son immediately took to the teachers and to the environment which he is usually quite cautious of. Teacher Julie, Teacher Tasha and Teacher Shirley really stood out in my experience and my son really took to them. Everyday my son Samuel was coming home with art, something new learned and a great attitude. He even conquered potty training thanks to the help of the teachers. Another really cool thing that Columbia does is they send a text message and email to me letting me know whether my son ate his snacks and lunch and took a nap. Things to know: 1. There is a nap time each day (at least for the 3 year olds ) 2. You must pack your own childs lunch, but snacks are povided mid-morning and mid-afternoon. 3. Check in and check out is super secure, codes on the doors 4. Plenty of teachers available and I have never seen too many kids for the amount of teachers working I will most definitely be using Columbia Childrens Center moving forward anytime my son is in town with me and I need someone to watch him while I work and I recommend this place to anyone looking for consistent childcare!

It warms my heart to see that Columbia is still in operation after all these years. When I had attended, it was a brand new preschool and truly the best of its kind. The venue was a large room sectioned off into areas per age range. I recall the place always being immaculately clean and full of awesome, educational books and toys. The part I feel had impacted me the greatest was the wonderful, dynamic staff. I still remember my teachers by name, though I'm sure they have all moved on by now. Four year olds are total sponges when it comes to learning, and I feel that the Columbia staff did a commendable job at preparing me for kindergarten. My days were filled with educational activities which involved a good balance of learning, art, singing, and play. I recall entering kindergarten and being at the top of my class. I cannot comment on the preschool's structure as it is today, but can confidently admit that it was one of the best experiences of my early childhood years. When I have children of my own, I'd wholeheartedly enroll them here. Thanks for the memories, Columbia!

I'm extremely disappointed with the direction St. Joseph High School has taken over the past few…read moreyears. The overall environment has declined to the point where it's affecting student safety, fairness, and the basic quality of the school day. - Dress code enforcement has become inconsistent and unclear. What used to be a well‑maintained standard is now barely monitored, and it shows in the overall campus atmosphere. - Restroom conditions are unacceptable. They are frequently clogged, dirty, or completely out of service. This isn't an occasional issue--it's a recurring problem that disrupts students' ability to get through the day comfortably and safely. - Vaping in the restrooms is out of control. Students openly vape in the bathrooms, and it's widely known who is doing it. Despite this, staff have not taken meaningful action to stop it. This raises serious concerns about supervision and student health. - Instead of addressing the students causing the problem, the school has restricted restroom access for everyone. Responsible students who follow the rules are being punished because of the behavior of a few. This approach is unfair, ineffective, and creates unnecessary stress for students who simply need to use the restroom during the school day. - The lack of targeted intervention is alarming. When staff know who is violating the rules but fail to act, it sends the message that misconduct is tolerated while rule‑abiding students pay the price. Overall, St. Joseph High School is not providing the safe, clean, and structured environment students deserve. I hope the administration takes these issues seriously and makes real improvements soon, because the current situation is unacceptable.
