What started as a fun hobby has grown into a real passion--thanks to Jason and his teaching style, encouragement, and deep love of music. He's kept our son motivated and progressing, always tailoring lessons around the music he's most excited about--mostly rock--and making it both fun and challenging. One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been watching our son not only grow as a guitarist and drummer but also find the confidence to sing.

I have seen such an increase in his confidence and musical ability since working with Jason. Jason truly cares about helping students grow, both as musicians and as individuals. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a guitar teacher who reall makes learning music something to look forward to each week.

As a harmonica player it's been difficult to find teachers that have many years of teaching experience and a love of the harmonica. Sam has both. His lessons are tailored to the student and he finds a balance between having high expectations and being understanding if you don't quite meet them. He is also an exceedingly nice guy and with countless interesting tidbits to share about the history of music that somehow make the lessons challenging yet approachable and engrossing. Sam is also a piano player and teacher, and some of my favorite moments during our lessons have been when he plays the piano and asks me to create something as I play along with him; as someone new to music that creative process is endlessly fun and enriching. Sam is a dedicated teacher and I'm glad I found him!

I returned to piano in my 40s after playing as a child, and one of the things I've loved most about learning from Rachel is the incredible range and flexibility she brings to teaching. Our lessons can follow wherever my curiosity happens to lead--jazz improvisation, classical technique, sight reading, nerding out on music theory, or taking on an ambitious piece that might take us months to learn. She is equally at home with all of it, and somehow always finds music and exercises that feel perfectly matched to what I'm interested in at the time. Rachel has created an environment where playing music is something I get to do, rather than something I'm supposed to do. I have a demanding job and young kids, so there are stretches when I practice a lot and stretches when my lesson is the only hour I spend at the piano all week. There is never guilt or judgment. We simply sit down, make music, and somehow always have a wonderful and productive lesson. Over the years, Rachel has made music a joyful and lasting part of my life.

Taking lessons with her again has been such a gift. Rachel is an absolutely incredible teacher. I have taken lessons with her both in person and remotely and they are equally excellent. She has an amazing ear and can instantly hear exactly where you are getting tripped up even over video. Her ability to pinpoint issues and explain them clearly makes learning feel approachable and motivating rather than intimidating. Beyond her technical skill, Rachel is just the best human. She truly cares about her students as people and always takes time to check in and connect. She encourages you to explore whatever styles of music you are passionate about. With her I played everything from classical to show tunes to jazz and I even took a brief detour into folk guitar. Her openness and enthusiasm make lessons fun personal and creatively fulfilling. She is also wonderful with kids and I genuinely cannot wait until my son is old enough to start lessons with her too. If you are thinking about taking lessons with Rachel do not hesitate. You will not regret it.

I think I've always secretly loved singing but didn't think I was any good. I enjoy karaoke and wanted to learn to be a better singer. Rhoda has helped me find parts of my voice that I didn't know where there (hello, high notes!). She has helped me breathe through songs (I can make it through Hamilton rapping without running out of breath!). She has given me more confidence in my voice and expanded my repertoire to songs I didn't have the technique to sing before. She is funny, talented and has been so encouraging to help me fine tune a tool I really didn't understand. Even as complicated as our voices are, she somehow makes sense of all of it. I look forward to our sessions and can't wait to keep up this progress. Thank you for everything, Rhoda!
