Amazonia Soul is a small, casual cafe offering dishes and ingredients from the Amazon! The crepe was so chewy that it barely broke down even when thoroughly chewed, and I've never had anything quite like it! My favorite dish was the Tacaca, an intensely-flavored soup made with tucupi (a sour yellow sauce extracted from manioc), boiled tapioca starch (with a chewy jelly consistency), (very salty) dried shrimp, and jambu (an Amazonian herb that gave a numbing sensation, similar to Sichuan peppercorns). The soup was another super unique dish and was sour, salty, hot, seafoody, and earthy all at once!
