It had been just over a year since his last well visit because he needed a sports physical for high school and the office wasn't able to schedule his well visit appointment before the form was due (in two weeks time). Because he got the physical, we didn't schedule a well visit right away. Doctor Knott refused to call in the prescription (even a single tablet dose). So, my son had to just endure the migraine untreated. The lack of flexibility in this situation was stunning to me. We'd been at this practice for many years and yet they were completely unwilling to help us out in an emergency situation by simply calling in a single dose, knowing what my son was experiencing. This office has always been very rigid in a number of ways, but this experience was really disheartening and we won't be going there again.

It went really well and enjoyed all her answers to our questions. They try their best to see your little one same day they are sick as they understand the difficulties of a sick child. They also have a texting number for after hours in case of emergencies. Which has been helpful our first month as I was that paranoid mother haha. Unfortunately, after our first appointment and first month appointment, we never met with Dr. Mathad. It was a little disheartening as we thought she was going to be our pediatrician due to her saying we'd see strictly her the first year for checkups. We got Dr. Patel at the first month appointment and have been going to her ever since! She is such a kind, heart warming and informational doctor. She never dismisses my huge list of questions haha. I'm glad we get her as our pediatrician!! She has been such a joy at every appointment. The staff too have been nothing but amazing!! They are informed on my daughters chart as soon as I walk in and leave the office. She had an allergic reaction to one of her shots and they were nothing short of supportive and caring. That really got me right there! Overall, this place is wonderful. They see kids up till their 20s, so that they are comfortable with their doctor they've known since birth! After a 3 minute call with their receptionist this morning, I was taken aback by the lack of professionalism or courtesy. My kid is the light of my life; I'm not about to send him to the sadistic land of needle torture unless I know that ANY level of compassion or empathy will be present. To the receptionist who just lost our business today: empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. You can't be successful in a customer-facing role without it. Perhaps find a role where you can be happy?

We were called 5 minutes before leaving for an appointment that the insurance had changed our PCP and they would not bill to our insurance. We had a similar issue last year, and they refused care to our children. If I could give zero stars, I would. It's not worth the heartbreak of listening to my child cry for over an hour while we tried to get insurance to give us a "reference number" that only Arvada Peds seemed to know about. No notice prior to making our same day appointment with the nurse (who deemed my child's illness severe enough to be seen in office). While I love our provider, I will not return to this practice.

Go here if you would like to be treated like you don't matter and if you want your three day old baby not to be cared for. Completely unclear and clueless and then to top it off rude about it is in my opinion not a terrific way to run a business. Lots of parking for LoHi though which is nice, maybe I'll use the lot next time I go to Avanti. Thanks for nothing, we'll be going elsewhere.
