The workers are all very friendly, and the manager Jean makes you laugh and feel like you're welcome there. I always see her working nonstop and I swear she's always there when I stop in! There are plenty of slips both reserved and temporary, there are covered slips a little further in. The docks seem secure. It's the perfect place to fill up your boat and head up to the Marina to pick up some goodies. Fellow boaters are always friendly and have great stories to tell. Sometimes it's nice to go there and hang out under the stairs looking at the beautiful Mississippi. Highly recommend the Clinton Marina!

Brittingham Boats has been one of my favorite summer traditions for years. I drive from the…read moreMilwaukee area at least once every summer specifically to kayak here, and I've always loved the whole experience. They offer kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and pedal boats, plus a beach for swimming. There's a cute little snack shop with really yummy grilled cheese sandwiches and beverages, T-shirts for sale, and a deck with tables and chairs, plus chaise lounges where you can relax in the sun. They also offer special events like burgers on the bay, where you kayak out to a pontoon boat where they're grilling burgers and other special event events throughout the summer. One of the things that makes this spot so special is the location. Brittingham Boats sits on Lake Monona, just west of John Nolen Drive, with largest section of Lake Monona and the Monona Terrace on the other side of the drive. In a normal summer, one of my favorite paddles is heading east, under the railroad bridge and John Nolen Drive, and out onto Lake Monona. From there, you can paddle along the shoreline and hang out near Monona Terrace, enjoying the views, watching the other kayakers and boaters, and even spotting plenty of open-water swimmers--many of whom I imagine are training for IRONMAN Wisconsin, held right here every September. There are also several different routes available depending on how far you want to explore, including paddles that can take you toward Lake Mendota and Lake Wingra, as well as routes in the direction of Olbrich Botanical Gardens and other scenic areas around Madison. **A note for summer 2026:** construction along John Nolen Drive appears to have interrupted that usual route, and I don't believe you can currently paddle through to Lake Monona. When I got there last Friday the weather turned and I didn't go out but from the looks of the construction going on, you can't get under John Nolan Drive Here's why I was especially disappointed when I visited last Friday, for the first time this year. Unfortunately, the property looked tired and neglected. It felt as though it had been opened for the season but hadn't received cleaning-just opened the doors--areas needed sweeping, weeds and landscaping needed trimming, cobwebs needed removing, and several things could really benefit from cleaning, fresh paint and general maintenance. The bathrooms were especially disappointing. They were very rundown and so wet that I honestly didn't want to touch anything. I'm sharing this because I really DO love this place and want to continue coming back. Brittingham Boats has so much going for it--the location, the activities and the atmosphere are wonderful. I just hope some time, attention and investment can be put into cleaning up and refreshing the place. A little TLC would go a very long way toward bringing back the charming place I've enjoyed making a special trip to visit every summer.

If you schedule a tour, please show up on time. The guide waited on people that was late. Also, don't take a tour if you plan to be disruptive and talk about non-related items the entire tour. The tour guide had a lot of patience with the audience, and we could tell that the constant laughter and cackling was a distraction to him.

First time wakeboarder here. I've skied many times but never got up on a wakeboard. After failing…read moreseveral times I'm happy to report, with the help of the talented and patient staff, I got up and rode for my first time! Came here with my family and we had an absolute blast. Very cool park set up with a cable system. It's tough to initially get the feel of taking off from a dead stop on the dock, but I do like the fact you're level with the water. Once you get a feel for it, the turns are also difficult (for a newbie) but not impossible. For the advanced riders, they have tons of features to ride on (or jump off of). As mentioned, the staff are friendly and helpful. They are all VERY good wakeboarders so they know their stuff. You can bring your own gear or rent from them. They have slow speed sessions or normal sessions, so if you're a beginner, go for the slow. A few small criticisms I had that would be easy to fix: -We came for a slow speed session and I was bummed they bumped up the speed halfway through the session right when I started getting the hang of it and I started falling again. I wish they wouldn't advertise a speed and then change it midway. They did bump it back down at the end of the session, which was good. -I think they need a little more padding on the shore by the first turn. If you fall there, to get onto the shore, you need to walk over rocks and they're painful on bare feet. -Our two younger nephews got a small burn on their shoulder from the life jacket rubbing against them? the adults were fine so not sure what that was about. All in all, a very positive experience for us and Rockford is very lucky to have a place like this! Can't wait to come back!

I had a very disappointing experience with Rez Boat Rentals. We had a 4:00 PM reservation, and upon…read morearrival we were immediately told that we needed to move our vehicle within 10 minutes, despite not even having reached the boat dock yet. When we politely asked whether any discount or accommodation could be offered due to the delay and inconvenience, the situation escalated unnecessarily. The owner/manager became hostile, used inappropriate language, and ultimately denied us service altogether. During the interaction, they repeatedly justified their behavior by stating that they were "the only rental company in Eastern Iowa," which came across as dismissive and unprofessional rather than solution-oriented. Additionally, the jet skis appeared old, heavily worn, and poorly maintained. The business would greatly benefit from updating and better maintaining its equipment to provide customers with a safer and more professional experience. Overall, I felt highly disrespected and uncomfortable throughout the encounter. The experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and lacked basic customer service and empathy. Rather than attempting to resolve the situation or acknowledge our concerns, staff blamed us as the customer despite knowing in advance that we were arriving for our scheduled 4:00 PM reservation. I would strongly encourage improvements in professionalism, communication, customer relations, and equipment quality moving forward.

We were reserved two pontoons from 3-7 pm and this was the fifth year of reserving pontoons for our…read moregroup. Unfortunately one boat was delayed and we couldn't get on it till 30 min after our scheduled time. The employees at this time were very good. However we quickly realized the boats really weren't good. One boat was leaking gas and rez adventures response was to just sit in a cove and not drive much. Unfortunately for the next few hours we got to smell gas and sit in water that was mixing with gas. Finally rez adventures employees were very demanding when we were docking and had one of our group members hold the boat to the dock so it didn't float away and was over all mean. They should have had rope to hold the boat to the dock not us. Very unfortunate experience
