This review is for a roof replacement not repair. I had owned my home for four years and although a home inspection was done that Okayed the roof at the sale it recently failed (which is a whole other story). I contacted four different companies to provide estimates and the one that stood out was Joshua Miller Roofing and Contracting. Joshua has been working on roofs pretty much his whole life and his knowledge base is extensive. He took pictures of the failed areas on my roof and explained why the areas had failed. He described the three different shingle manufacturers typically used in this area and told me his preferred choice, which I later verified with my own research. I went with his recommendation. He walked me through the shingling process, what layers would be placed on my roof and how they adhere to keep my house dry. He was one of only two estimators that discussed using a ridgeline venting system instead of the individual roof vents providing me with the pros and cons; again I verified his information and selected the ridgeline vent. I was very nervous about this whole process and Joshua patiently answered my numerous questions. He promptly responded to all my emails and provided the warranty information for his work and the shingles. His crew was very good and the clean-up was the best out of all the construction people I have ever hired (no trash left at all and my yard and driveway were blown clean). His estimates were very reasonable and though a little lower than the others the work list was the same. I highly recommend using his company for your roofing needs. I know I will in five years when he comes back and does an inspection to make sure everything is still fine with my roof. read more

I sm a real customer. I had a serious, bad roof leak. Technicians came on three occasions over 9 months and always failed to diagnose the true cause of the leak. JM sent two technicians. One was a woman. I admired JM for hiring women technicians. Never saw a woman roofer. She was brilliant as was the man, both obviously well trained and experienced. They carefully identified the cause. Unfortunately, by this time, the roof plywood had rotted and had to be replaced. I thought it would be thousands of dollars to fix. It didn't. Josh came out to look at a roof leak I had ongoing for quite some time. I had 2 other "roofers" out who smeared some tar on my roof and that's it (I know this because Josh showed me the pictures). Josh showed me all the other issues I had on my roof. I was worried, because I thought I needed a new roof. Josh assured me that I had plenty of life left on my roof, and that it just needed a "Tune Up", as he called it. Josh resolved my leak. Nine months later... still no leak. JM Roofing was extremely helpful and discussed every aspect of our project. The roof looks great. Crews were always professional and cleaned up any debris. They handled the entire insurance claim process which i liked the most-not dealing with headache of back and forth with them. Quickly installed roof. I placed my request very late one night and Joshua answered within minutes (it was around 1:00 am). He was here the next day at the agreed upon time and finished the work in less than 20 minutes. Joshua arrived on time. Found the cause of the leak. A low roofing nail that was exposed. He said it looked like they had caulked it. Roof is about 8 years old. He caulked the nail and some other stuff that was suspicious. Now we will have to wait for a driving rain. read more
