Our experience with JM LEXUS was quite impressive. We are first time Lexus owners, we have owned Mercedes and the Equus. Our sales person Robert Kohl was so knowledgeable about Lexus that we were intrigued. We basics went to look and learn about Lexus and learn we did. We were shocked he had only been doing it for 5 months! He made sure we were comfortable and never talked negative, or was too pushy. He let us make up our mind. I purchased a used Toyota 4Runner two weeks ago. So simple, the car is missing it's floor mats. The salesman promised me a set. Poor communication, during the purchase he promised either a set of mats or a gift card for the equivalent. I received a $40 gift card. Poor communication and disregard for buyer. Took an old Lexus ES 300 in for service on the Air Conditioning. My first words to the service technician were that I didn't want to invest a lot to fix an 18 year old car. He nodded his head and began to enter all the data into their system. 10 minutes later he informs me that to just obtain an estimate, the fee was $100. $100 JUST TO GET AN ESTIMATE!! Why he didn't explain that initially (when I told him I didn't want to spend a lot on the car) is beyond me. It took me another 20 minutes to just get my car back from their massive repair bureaucracy. I counted 5 people who looked right through me while I was trying to find the right person to take my paperwork that would eventually reunite me with my car. But now that they have "Lexus Plus" service they will no longer price match on things like tires and charged me over $200 more than I would have paid elsewhere and that was WITHOUT doing an alignment. JM lexus is big, and that is their problem. The issue with them is their prices are just totally unrealistic. Sometimes double or triple what it should cost.. literally something a good indy shop can do for $200 would cost $6-800 at JM. How anyone pays those prices is beyond me. read more

I recenly brought a car here at jm lexus .it come with 5/100 thousand mile pre-owner packet .but when it come to financial the guy name terri i think he try to sold me the service packet at well .here the thing i live in port st lucie the jm dealer is down in margate ,it almost 2 hour driving so i toll him i am not interesting because it to far to drive down to get the services done by them only .and then he said oh no you can go any lexus dealer and get it done .it do not have to be done by one location .he explant that packet it promote from the lexus financial not thru JM only .now what happen is i just move to seattle whashington and try to get my oil change here they said they can not view my packet that i pushchage .i have been call them for two week each time they told me that they can not give me an answer right now and they will call me back .but guess what they never did . .it been three month sinse i move to seattle i call then to request for an copy of my car tittle .they said is an electronic tittle so they do not have it the DMV keep my tittle .it to complicate for me to keep call Dmv and them for the last three month already .they told me to call Dmv to get it .DMV told me that only lexus can request that tittle because they still own the car ( i still own th Money ) is a very bad car dealer i ever see .they try to get your money only .sale you this and that , promise and promise to take good care of you .DO NOT listen to them .all they want it to get your money .they do not care for what you need .i got car accident couple month ago i have to bring it back 3 time to fix it but they do not done it right i end up have to bring is to the one near by my house .the reason i alway go down there because my boyfriend house right next to them .i can walk home after drop off the car .learn my lesion DO NOT buy a car or het a service done by them .i try to get two thing done right now and i am not sure if i can ever get they help or i end up have to get some one els helping me .thank you and hope my review is save your money and time to deal with them read more

Today I was scheduled for an appointment with the service manager concerning my tire issue. Upon arrival none of the employees were aware of my scheduled appointment. I was finally introduced to a manager named Diego. Who sprawled out on a desk in the middle of the room, I asked him how a brand-new set of tires would only last less than a year. He told me I own a Lexus IIS 350 and my Bridgestone tires would only last 8 to 10,000 miles depending how I drove. Then went on to explain that he told his daughter not to buy one because of that issue. When I asked him how could a 2014 vehicle have rust on their brakes, he told me that was normal. I am scratching my head at my recent bad experience at JM. I went in for my 3rd Lexus and regular salesman (Pedro) had left (later found him at Pembroke Pines Lexus). Gave another guy a try at JM and it was demeaning and a joke. Walked out and went to Pines. Found Pedro and got a great deal done simple and smooth. For one, I don't find the staff here the friendliest of people. But what really bothers me is this: when I come here and wait for my car, I go to the visitors lounge on the 2nd floor. I like the layout of the area and it gives me a chance to get work done while here so I don't feel like I am wasting 2 hours. The issue is that sometimes you will find employees hanging out up here and they are loud and boisterous as if they are at a family bbq. One would think that the visitor lounge area is just that. For example, I was here today and there is one lady here with braids who is behaving as if she is at a ballgame or a park. She is extremely loud and for 2 hours has been talking nonstop. Other visitors here are looking around at each other and the lady isn't getting the hint. I'm wondering if she has hearing issues because she is unnecessarily LOUD. This is such an inconvenience because I think all we want as visitors here is a place to relax while waiting to spend hundreds on our car repair/maintenance. Not to be thrown into a break room for employees to behave as they wish. I hope management will enforce professional behavior in the visitor lounge because this is so unfortunate. My other option right now is to go sit outside until my car is done, but why should I. If I find that this issue continues I will go to Fort Lauderdale or further North. I am paying enough to have my car repaired, the least I can do is have an actual place to relax. other employees that are sitting around the desk is almost unnoticeable. they are working. But these ladies that work around the food area are so ghetto and loud. Disgusting. read more

Told me my transmission fluid was "black". i just had it changed by a family member. I checked it myself and is was PERFECT. Tried to tell me a new transmission would cost me $8,000 ! Went to look at pre owned cars and sales person was rude, wanted me to sign up for free oil changes before I even knew if I wanted the car. Some dealerships are stellar examples of the fact that no matter what the circumstances it's seemingly embedded in the DNA of all car salesmen to screw their customers in any way imaginable - they basically just can't help themselves. JM Lexus of Margate is clearly one of them. I recently hunted around looking for a used Buick Verano. Not being able to find one locally in Orlando that fit within the parameters I'd set I cast the net progressively wider and wider until JM Lexus came up on the radar with a car that fit the bill. Unfortunately as the dealership is over 200 miles from where I live it presented particular problems logistically and in terms of finalizing a deal. The former was relatively easy to overcome, but in regard to the actual terms of the purchase I was obviously concerned that I wanted all the financial details ironed out before I committed to the trip down south, not least because of the obvious point that by not doing so I'd be at the mercy of the sales staff to work the situation to their advantage, knowing full well that a customer would be much more likely to accept some financial arm-bending in order to save a wasted trip - and the inconvenience of having to use public transport again to return home! So I made it very plain to the salesman I ended up dealing with that I wanted all the details clearly laid out so that there'd be no last minute surprises or shenanigans, a point I repeated again and again, only to be reassured by the salesman that JM Lexus is a reputable and high volume dealership that refrains from the kind of unsavory practices that give the industry such a bad name. Next day I arrived in Margate, got picked up at the bus drop-off point by the enthusiastic salesman, and drove back to the dealership to inspect the vehicle. All went well and I couldn't have been more pleased with the vehicle, though being no expert mechanically I largely had to take the car on faith and trust in regard to Buick's exemplary warranty, which was one of the main appeals in buying a 2016 version of the car. In we went to begin the process, and after waiting within the opulent surroundings and being wowed by all the glad-handing staff and a coffee shop offering up free beverages and food, I was ushered in to see the financial guru to finalize the paperwork. I would point out at this juncture that I myself was not actually signing on the dotted line for the sale and financing as my wife was handing all the details, but as she was indisposed as far as the trip was concerned due to work commitments arrangements had been made with the dealership to essentially sign the car over to us for the trip back to Orlando pending my wife's signature on all the documents, which were to be sent back ASAP via the provided UPS envelope. Later that night, as my wife and I started going through the documents for her to sign we realized that, after all the assurances of transparency, honesty, and the supposed integrity of a 'big' dealership, JM Lexus had royally tried screwing us by playing us for utter fools. They had inserted an $895 charge for GAP insurance in the purchase agreement, no doubt hoping we wouldn't notice and that my supposedly dumb schmuck of a wife would happily sign off on it. To say I feel insulted doesn't even come close. That these arsholes could look me in the face and wax rhapsodic about their integrity while trying to nail us through their backdoor dealings was shameless enough. That they could do it after I had expressly asked them to simply be upfront about their charges and itemize all the costs was worse, not least after all the assurances I'd been given regarding what an exemplar of honest dealing the business is. All of this begs the question of what their modus operandi is in this situation? Do they pull this on all their customers, working on the basis that a small percentage will fall for the slimy subterfuge? Given the fact that I'm Australian, did they just determine that I was an antipodean rube ripe for the picking, or did they just figure that if you're going to screw your own countrymen might as well screw with the citizenry of your nation's closest friends as well to show that car salesmen don't discriminate? But don't let me be the only judge on the matter. In the article linked below note the following extract -- '......some dealer finance managers automatically include gap coverage in your purchase agreement without even talking about it with the buyer. This practice is generally considered unethical, at a minimum'. Can't really say much more on the matter, can I? So please, anyone even remotely considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership take note. JM Lexus has changed... First off, I've been a customer of JM Lexus for almost 15 years and have leased 7 vehicles from them but the lease I am in now will be my last. I drove from Miami Beach to JM Lexus because back then they treated customers like family and really worked hard to ensure customers received the best all around service. Unfortunately those days are LONG gone and JM Lexus is equal to any dealership. None of the people I used to work with the past 15 years are employed with JM Lexus and that should have been my warning before moving forward with another lease. Because I was a long standing customer I have never been charged for excess mileage, received complimentary window tint, and I was able to return my lease 4-6 months before lease end date with all remaining payments being waved. But this time around those extra special JM Lexus perks are gone. The excuse I received from new management was that they would never do these things and the excess charges had to be rolled into my monthly payment. That's strange because my new lease is more than I have ever paid on a monthly basis for a lease from JM Lexus having leased a previous car worth more than the one I am in now. I would give JM Lexus less than a one star if I could. I leased a Lexus E350 with the clear understanding that at the end of the lease I could buy the car, if I wanted, for the residual price of the lease. I returned at the end of the lease term, and asked to purchase the car. They told me that I need to call the Lexus Financial and buy it from them - that JM does not do that. I called Lexus and they said I leased the car from JM and I need to go to the dealership and they should take care of it. I went back to JM Lexus and a rude salesman told me that the car, that had 9,000 miles after 3 years and in a spotless condition, was actually worth $2000 less than the residual and JM will pay me $2000 less than it was worth, put me in a another lease, and I had to pay the additional $2000 !!!! Nothing made sense. I asked for a manager, who never showed up, instead, the salesman returned and repeated himself. I took the car to CarMax, they gave me $2000 ABOVE the residual value (that is $4000 more than JM Lexus dealership itself). I sold the car to them and screwed JM out of it. They are a crooks, liars and thieves, who found it more profitable to try and talk me out of it and lease me another car than do the final paperwork to sell me the car. I cannot believe I am leaving 2 stars for a Lexus dealer after being a Lexus customer [not JM] for more than 18 years. I live in LA, before I bought a used Lexus at a nearby used car dealer, I paid JM for their 99 point inspection, which all Lexus dealers offer. Very accommodating and pleasure to deal with. I specifically asked the service writer to check the tires, since it requires different size front and back. He personally assured me over the phone and their inspection confirmed all correct. When I received the car, via independent transporter, it would not start. AAA said battery 50%, NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED IN THEIR INSPECTION. and the tires were the WRONG TIRES!!!!! Worse, when I contacted the service advisor, he never responded, or apologized. Just blew me off with no response at all. THAT IS NOT WHAT ANYONE SHOULD EXPECT FROM A LEXUS DEALER. read more

Tim Spellman one of the sales managers was awesome. There is no negotiation, you know the price before you get there. The had all the cars we wanted to see, no hidden fees. I take my 2012 IS250 in for a car wash about every 2 weeks. Every time I pull up the to the service drive, the men who are supposed to greet you at your car are too busy chatting with each other to even notice that you drove up. Literally every single time I go there I have to get out of my car and ask them for service. One time after the car wash, they parked my car within 10 feet of the overpass where it could have been covered. It started raining ( it always rains in FL) the guy hands me my keys and doesn't even offer to go get my car for me after HE parked it in the wrong spot which was now in the pouring rain. As far as actually work on the car goes, My service advisor was Matt & he was GREAT! I took my car in for standard 5k miles service and was extremely happy. He got me into a loaner car within minutes. read more

This dealership is top notch. I bought my car from them, I have used their accessories department and their service department. 1) Great sales experience. My sales person Jeffrey Felder was great. I negotiated the price for my car over the phone. He is in the Internet department so he didn't give me any nonsense, try to make me come in, or engage in phony posturing like sales people at other dealers. Jeffrey is a solid no nonsense guy who is very responsive, treats you like an intelligent person, and cares about his customers. I will definitely buy a car from him again. If you are looking for a Lexus call Jeffrey Felder. 2). The accessories department here is very good. I got my ipod integration, satellite radio and F-Sport upgrades done here. Jean-Claude Damion is great. A real professional. 3). I've also had an excellent experience with the service department. I had a rattle in my front right door. I had taken it to a closer dealership to fix and the people at Lexus of North Miami kept the car for 2 days and made it worse. I took it afterwards to JM Lexus, and the tech rode with me. He heard the problem. He quickly figured our where it is coming from. And he fixed it in less than 2 hours. Plus I didn't have an appointment, but he said it would be terrible to let this drag on and made time to do it. That's world class service. 4) There is a superb detail department. It's very reasonably priced and they make your car like new. This place is a long way from my home, but I go here for details. Black paints are hard to detail without creating swirls, but these guys get it perfect. Plus they give you a free loaner car while they are detailing your car - this is unheard of! 5) JM Lexus has the only Lexus authorized bodyshop in the state. I had a small scratch from some road debris on my front bumper, and these guys restored it to like new. There is one thing they could do better: 1) Provide a business center so if a customer wants to wait for service instead of taking loaner, he/she can make phone calls and do work in a quite environment. Currently the wait area has music so there is nowhere to take quite calls. read more

Was in for an oil change on December 31st 2012. I didnt have any where urgent that I needed to be so I and decided to wait for it. The vehicle was sent through what JM refers to as Express Service. About an hour later I got a call from the desk saying the vehicle was done, so I paid, was given my keys, and was told it was parked out front, and that I'm all set. Once I got in the vehicle I noticed that stuff from the glove compartment was scattered all over the floor on the passenger side. In addition there were used work gloves left on the top of the passenger side seats. How disgusting is that? As if that wasn't enough, there was clearly a greasy hand print left by one of the service technicians across the back seat. WTF type of service is this? And let me please add, that this isn't the first time I had an issue like this at this dealership. The last time I had an oil change I encountered a similar type incident. Buying a car can be a difficult experience...this was one I wasn't anticipating. We negotiated a price. They requested and processed my deposit. They told me they should have my car in a couple of days (they didn't have what I was looking for in stock) and then five days later they had still not responded to my phone calls or emails requesting status....I still believe they wanted me to walk away from the deal since I had negotiated a good price. I have been going to JM Lexus location for the past 12 years and commuting for over an hour on each visit. I chose this location because I felt valued and respected, however, all of that changed during my most recent visit. I took my car in for a routine oil change and to replace a VSC sensor, which I presumed was a simple repair, on September 6. I decided to leave my car and was provided a loaner. After not hearing back I called the service department 5 days later and was advised the vehicle was ready for pick up. On September 13 I returned to Lexus, picked up my vehicle and as I was driving away I noticed that my radio was not working. I immediately returned to Lexus and informed them of the new problem. On September 16 I was advised by Casey Bewley, the service manager , that there was a leak in the trunk and the amplifier was broken. I was in total shock as my radio was working just fine before the car had been dropped off. I requested to speak to a supervisor since the radio was working when it was dropped off and now it was not. It was at that point that the patronizing began. First Matthew O'Brien commented that the amplifier was broken and there was nothing Lexus could do/would do. I again requested to speak to someone higher up and spoke to Mike Burrell. Mr. Burrell was of no greater help and even called me a liar accusing me of having prior knowledge of the leak. However I had no issue with the radio and the accusation of having knowledge of it being broken was an insult to my character. I felt extremely ridiculed and disrespected. I wish Lexus would have handled the situation differently and have lived up to their name. I will never return again. read more

After three BMWs I finally had to admit that my German cars were simply not reliable enough and too expensive to maintain. I am on my second Lexus and JM Lexus had always been wonderful to work with on any issues. Last fall I was contacted about a recall on the dashboard in my ES 350 for its tendency to melt in the Florida sun. My dash had indeed started to become sticky and was also melting in spots to a shiny finish. I contacted JM Lexus and they put me on the waiting list for a new dashboard. They told me it would be replaced in May or at latest June. I was a little disappointed, but that recall affects thousands of cars and they have always been so nice to work with on any issue. So I waited through May and June with my ever melting dash (see the pictures attached). Early in July, a valet on Las Olas threw a return stub on the dash and it stuck....permanently. Seriously I tried getting it off, but there are still parts of it glued to the dashboard. When I came home, I found another recall from Lexus for the Takata airbags that explode for my car. I decided to call JM Lexus and see why they had not called about the promised dash replacement that should have already happened. Theresa Solomon in the service department was polite, but ultimately said that there was no timetable at all and it could be a long time before I got a new dashboard...even after eight months of waiting. I am ready to trade the car in, but who is going to want the melting Lexus with the exploding airbag as a trade? It has melted to the point that the surface of the dash is like a reflective glass and often times I can't see out of the front window. So here I sit with a car I can't use when its sunny and cant trade because of the recall issues. Not happy with JM Lexus? It may be time to look at an Equus or Genesis. read more

The Lexus cars are outstanding. It's the service that really falls short. Weird, but ever since they boasted about being Lexus Plus and one point person, they have deteriorated terribly. I got a recall on my air bags and when I was in for other service, they never mentioned it. Then, when I called the had to order the part and took so long I was out of town by the time it came in. Now, I return home to a post card saying the parts in only to be told it's the wrong part. That was several days ago and no call back. I never speak with the rep, I always have to leave voice mail and wait to hear back. Great cars, bad service. read more
