Cinnamon did my photos and it's OBVIOUS she has decades of experience. Her personality was so vibrant but calming. The first questions she asked were about my comfort level, what I was ok with showing and not ok with showing. Asked a lot of questions about what my goal for the shoot would be. It made me feel very safe and comfortable. She had me get in my first outfit and pointed out things I never would have thought of like deodorant on my underarms. She gave clear direction on posing and made the whole process so much fun. I forgot I was there for a photoshoot. It seemed effortless for her. She took time after my shoot to answer any questions I had about the next steps in the process. After the shoot I got the edited photos 3 days later which is a crazy turn around time. The album came with very clear instructions on how to view and select photos or packages for purchase. I was also given multiple reminders to make my selections before the cut off time which my ADHD brain really appreciated. I would (and have) recommend them to anyone looking for this type of shoot and will probably book in the future.

She has a studio at her home with plenty of snacks while you do your sessions. It's also heated for those chillier winter months. The props she has are amazing and add a lovely style to her photos. She has a natural talent for finding perfect poses and the experience to get great angles. She also does locations other than her studio for photo shoots. For our maternity pictures we were at the beach and for our family pics we went to a hiking trail. She's able to taylor yo meet your needs. Photography skills - I absolutely love her natural style that uses the beautiful San Diego light to bring out the gorgeousness of everyone (and every pet :)) in the picture. We planned a trip to San Diego for an anniversary and family vacation hybrid trip and I wanted to surprise my wife with a professional family photoshoot since I knew she had always wanted one. So I came on yelp to try and find someone who i thought would do a decent job of taking our family photo. And after some scrolling, which is a shame since I felt like she should be at the top, I saw some photos that caught my eye that I thought fit our style and what we liked and that's how i found kelsey! She was great at communicating with us the whole time. From helping give us ideas of what to wear, Giving us information about the locations she likes to shoot at and why she likes it, and answering pretty much every question we had in a very timely manner. Which was very crucial especially since this was booked kind of last minute lol. But she made everything so smooth it was like we had it planned for months. Once we got to location she made everyone feel super comfortable and gave great directions and never made anything feel forced. Also, we got there a little later than planned because there was some traffic so we were about 20 min or so late. But we never felt like we were being rushed to take pictures to try and make up for the time lost and we felt like we still got a lot done. As for the photos themselves, I'm not a very photogenic guy, I can look pretty ehhh in pics. but the magic she was able to do to make me look good should say something about her skills. But me aside, she made my wife and kids look beautiful and the overall photos were amazing. Originally we were only going to pick the middle package, which allowed for a certain amount of pics to be downloaded, but we couldnt make up our mind and pick just that amount, so we HAD to upgrade so we could get everything. It was THAT hard to choose bc everything was so good. This ended up being a way longer review than planned but I had to let the world know how great she is. She even surprised us with a surprise gift that literally lifted our spirits on a day we were feeling kinda crabby. I wish her nothing but good vibes and continued success and I wish everyone does themselves a favor and gets a session with her if ever in the San Diego area and looking for a photographer, cuz shes pretty good. Only the *tiniest* bit bummed, we decided to still get married and scheduled our civil ceremony. But now, I want a photographer to document this event... I think I found Emily on Instagram, after looking around at different photographers' work. I remember really liking Emily's style, how natural everyone looked, and how well Emily captured the moments. I think those were/are the most important things for me for choosing a photog, and it helped that Emily has (solid) reviews for me to go through as well. Emily was prompt in responding via email, and offered to chat on the phone to discuss the details and what I wanted. After talking for a bit, I sent over a deposit and we were set! Or not... because a week or two before our shoot, I looked at my civil ceremony appointment time and it was actually for 8am, NOT 8:30am. Yikes! I text Emily, nervous that she wouldn't be able to make the earlier time, and I would need to scramble for another photographer, but thankfully, Emily is flexible and okay with the earlier time. Phew! I also wasn't quite sure *what* I wanted from the photos (POSES? props!? specific backgrounds?!) but found some pictures I liked and sent them to Emily a day or two before our appointment, so she had an idea what I was going for. I appreciate Emily's responsiveness! The actual civil ceremony felt a little hectic; we did not know what it would entail -- paperwork, of course, and then waiting because there were other couples that were getting married that day. Thankfully, Emily was very patient. Emily is personable, friendly, and professional. She is very easy to work with, and helped the husband (!!) and I feel comfortable. Nothing felt forced, and I think she did a great job of eliciting and capturing our authentic moments. We are super pleased with the pictures and I can't stop looking at them! Lol. I would *definitely* solicit Emily's services again. Maybe for one of her fun mini shoots down the line. What a cute, low pressure and creative way to get some quality photos! We only have some not so great photos of our family taken on our phones and just wish we had 1 good photo of us to put in a frame at home or send out to friends and family. So we decided to do another shoot again with Michelle, since our first shoot came out so lovely and I still love them to this day! My husband is always hesitant about photos as well and hates getting them done, but Michelle makes it really easy for everyone involved, including my toddler! I can't recommend Michelle enough, especially those with kids as she made it quick and easy and the photos came out even better than expected! They are so beautiful, yet again! Not only was the shoot quick and easy, but we didn't have to wait forever to actually get our photos. Honestly, I can't recommend her enough, she's so sweet, easy going, and professional and really has a great eye for photos!! You won't regret getting photos done with Michelle!
