I too saw all the great reviews and stopped by Jings to check out the shop. A small shop, that was super clean and welcoming. Yida ( Jings husband) translated my design ideas to Jing and after i put down a deposit, we got the ball rolling right away. A few days later, i sat through 5 hours and now i have an amazing piece. - Prices seemed comparable to other shops. - Jing and Yida were very attentive and provided honest and fair critique of my idea. without giving me the "ur idea is really stupid" look. - Jing designed my idea and emailed it to me the next morning. - Phone calls and emails were immediately returned. Email responses were so fast it seemed like we were trading IMs. - Jing is the only artist, so I knew from the beginning she would be the one tattooing me. No distractions, as there is only 1 tattoo station - I was given a choice of either music or a movie to try to get my mind off the pain. Don't be like me and select a kung fu movie with a long sword fighting scene. People being stuck with sharp metal swords was not helpful at all. - Jing offers free touch up - I am all about the parking situation. and the 1 negative is the parking. You might have to circle the block a couple times to find a spot. And if you do, there is a 2 hour limit, so if your session is going to be longer, you need to find parking on one of the side streets. Going outside to feed the meter halfway thru a session, shirtless w/ a halfdone tat, not a good idea. I luv my new piece and I can't wait til i get my next one. My boyfriend and I ended up not getting our tattoo here. We went to many surrounding tattoo parlors to look at their penmanship and prices and they weren't able to catch that the pictures we provided them were photoshopped. For example, my boyfriend wanted to get 2 koi in water . They weren't able to catch that the fins and scales weren't proportional to the fish. And they weren't able to tell us that one of the wrist tattoos I wanted to get, the picture I provided them was actually a temporary tattoo. We didn't know either until other tattoo shops provided us that info which shows us that they don't have the skills to pin point these things. Also they were the only parlor that said that my boyfriend was able to sit for 1 session, 8 hours, for his first large chest piece while other places clearly said it wasn't a good idea. shows how much experience they really have / they just wanted our money. Getting a tattoo can be a stressful and intimidating experience. Once you're done dealing with the stress of finding the perfect design and body location to put it, finding a talented artist and reputable shop is the intimidating part. Newbies (as well as the experienced) getting their first tattoos will often feel intimidated walking into a tattoo parlor for the first time (esp. if it's not very inviting). The image of most tattoo shops can range from the "tough biker" run by big bearded heavy set guys to the "novelty" that tends to be as phony as a temp tattoo. Jing's Tattoo is a recently opened shop located in the middle of a quiet stretch block with neighboring Korean businesses. The shop does not fall into the "tough biker" or the "novelty" image which makes it very inviting. The area is also quiet which provides a level of discretion for the intimidated. Jing is the tattoo artist who acquired her training and skills in China. She speaks fluent Mandarin and Korean but wasn't too fluent in English. Not worrying too much that words or directions can get lost in translation, I was confident and comfortable that she was able to understand what I wanted. The design (found on the internet) wanted on my left and right shoulder is a round flame border centered over an existing tattoo. Eventhough I'm more of a Yelp critic than a tattooist, I'd considered the job to be easy in the "level of difficulty" scale. Not wanting a rush job, Jing took her time and finished in about three hours. The final results were awesome and exactly how I imagined it with no regrets. Given that the tattoo design wasn't very difficult, I would consider a return visit with a more elaborate design for Jing to work with. Furthermore, I felt comfortable with Jing doing future tattoo work. I should comment that having a female tattooist doesn't make the pain of getting a tattoo less painful. For the newbie, the individual's tolerance for pain will determine the level of discomfort. The room where the tattoos are done is clean and comfortable. The business is managed by Jing's husband (who doesn't look like the typical or rather stereotypical) tattoo shop owner. He's very nice with a down to earth personality and provides the occasional English translations. The rates are competitive and you can bring your own designs or choose one of theirs. As with all legitimate tattoo shops, ID is checked regardless if you look young or old for your age. They will take walk-ins and appointments. Metered parking is available outside the shop or park for free at the residential areas a couple of blocks away. read more

After extensive research, I felt convinced that Jing's would make my first tattoo experience a good one; and I wasn't disappointed. Yida worked as a bridge between Jing and I, exchanging emails with me back and forth to discuss designs and fine tuning the details. Their pricing was reasonable, and everything was crystal clear from beginning to end. On the day of, Jing worked her magic. She was focused during the whole two and a half hour session, occasionally asking me how I'm doing (to which I answered with a whine because let's be real, the neck and the spine area hurts like a B). After the long, yet somewhat short ride, I was given ointments and instructions to care for my new artsy wound. Fast forward two months, and it's completely healed and embedded in all its glory. So thank you, Jing, for your professional and beautiful work, and Yida, for being patient with all the emails! Also, one tip to anyone who cannot, will not and do not want to tolerate pain: tell Yida or Jing about numbing creams BEFORE you make an appointment, because it takes a long time for the cream to go into effect. While they wait for you, Jing can work on another client to be time efficient. But as Yida said, "Pain is part of getting a tattoo" and as weird as that may sound to some people, it's true. Soooooooo, it took me what seems like an eternity to get my first tattoo. I'm 52 yrs old, btw. It's not that I was afraid of the potential pain, but I just didn't feel 100% comfortable with the numerous tattoo parlors I visited and reviews I read thru the years. I came across Jing's tattoo parlor on Yelp and after reading the reviews and seeing her work in the photos I just got a strong feeling that this is where I needed to go. So 4 days ago I went to see for myself and after choosing the design I wanted at 11:00 am, came back at 6:00 pm the same day and 3 hours later I received an incredible tattoo, with beautiful shading and exquisite details. If you look thru the photos on Yelp it's the bull, which is on my right calf. I have never met and artist as naturally talented, friendly, accommodating and just generally cool as Jing. I had a 3-4hr tattoo and it was a pleasure to watch her work the entire time. Went in Saturday to finally get a cover up done. Even with rescheduling a couple of times, they rescheduled it each time without a problem. Since it was my first time doing a cover up, I was a bit nervous because from the previous reviews, the language barrier was a huge issue. They do not speak English fluently BUT they understand everything you tell them as long as you take the time to explain what it is that you want done. I went in for the initial questioning, pricing, and then had about 50 email exchanges and phone calls. All my questions were answered again without any issues and I am extremely happy with the final result. J is a very talented artist! The session took about 3 hrs (painful) but it was so worth it! I went to get a tattoo done and scheduled an appointment with JK. She's very attentive, patient, and will listen to what the customer wants. I had a design in mind and we went over it back and forth for weeks until the design was just right, and scheduling wasn't an issue with her. :) The wait time was close to nothing the first time I went, since she was finishing up with another client. The second time I went for a touch up, there was no wait time at all. I love that JK is super patient and when I would have concerns about the shading or the line details. The best part is that I love the location because there's tons of residential parking space available if you drive there. My friends and I really wanted a delicate fine line tattoo. We came here after seeing Jing's pieces always had beautiful line work and incredible details. Yida and Jing were extremely accommodating to 5 walk-ins just two hours before closing, even though Jing had just finished a prior appointment. We picked examples out from the internet and they were able to create exactly what we wanted! A tip though : definitely bring lots of cash as there is a percent surcharge on credit. My piece was about 3 inches tall and half an inch wide that costed 230. It was well worth it. While in the chair, Jing was very gentle and efficient. I chose the piece to go on my shoulder and I barely felt any pain. It came out exactly how I described. The lines were so thin and clean. Some of my friends got their pieces done by her apprentice, Xue, and they couldn't be more impressed. Also Yida kindly provided us with a movie and great conversation while we were waiting. I had visited a few tattoo shops before I set foot at Jing's. The other shops weren't really working with me and they became a bit of a headache. But at Jing's the service was great from the moment I first emailed. They communicate in a very timely manner and its clear they work hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Yida, the gentleman at the front desk, helps with sizing and makes sure you are happy with the tattoo placement. Jing is ridiculously talented! I got my Batman piece done about 8 months ago (sorry for the late review) and I am STILL in love with it. She is VERY detail oriented (which as a teacher, I can definitely appreciate lol). Came in to get Roman numerals on my back and paid roughly what I was being quoted from other shops, actually about 10%- 15% more but negligible. I liked working with Yida, he took the time to help me decide on the size of my tattoo and font, etc. Jing was very professional and her work was excellent. It was actually better than I could have even imagined. Clean location with available street parking when I visited. The only complaint I have is that in my excitement over the quality of my tattoo, I bought a Tin of tattoo goo from Yida at $15....$15!!! I googled the price of this goo and at the most expensive, I found it for $7 and averaging about $4. The price I paid was well in excess and left me feeling pretty taken advantage of. Amazing and intricate detail done by Jing! It is almost a full year since I have gotten my first tattoo and I can say I have been very happy with the coloring overtime. Jing really takes her time in small details and truly cares about the overall experience. It was very important for me to go to an artist who takes careful attention to detail and is very clean with their work and space. However (this may be a con to some people) it is encouraged that there be no phone usage nor talking with a friend during the procedure. I do feel that it is worth it since I get complimented on the two butterflies on my arm since her line work and shading is truly exceptional. Really wanted to like this place. I got a wrist tattoo and from the very beginning the counter guy kept warning me about this placement as it fades easily. I completely understand and appreciate a professional's advice. However the amount of times he was reiterating this, plus saying they won't do touch ups on this area should have been enough red flags for me to take my business elsewhere. I've been following this shop on ig for a min and their yelp reviews were on point so I followed through despite being quoted a higher than expected price. It's been over a month and I'm quite disappointed. The lines are not consistent and what's going on with these thicker dots? I came back to reread the reviews and found another unhappy customer who got a wrist tattoo. It all made sense with the dude's excessive warnings. If they don't feel confident in this area, they should say so especially if they charging an expensive price (plus extra for a few changes I made aka some dots and lines, do you see how simple my design is..) I ended up getting this touched up elsewhere and now it looks more even. Giving my stars because it could've been worse, and the artist was nice and tried her best. But the guy at front rubbed me the wrong way and the tattoo definitely fell below my expectations given what I paid. It is hard to put my experience here into words. It was my first tattoo. I walked in based on recommendations just to see what the place was like, and was immediately greeted by the business owners Yida and Jing. They both took time to sit down and go over ideas with me and went out of their way to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. They worked on several ideas for days before I felt it was right. The shop as a whole was awesome as well. Very clean and comfortable. I was there for the majority of the day, and they really made me feel at home. Jing being the artist is not fluent in English but is well communicated through her work. She is very light to her touch and made my experience very comfortable. She is very meticulous and shows pride in her work. Her husband Yida who does the translations for Jing is so friendly that he'll make you feel like you were best friends. Though he is not the "artist" he definitely has unique visions and ideas to share with you and Jing to enhance the look of your tattoo. I choose Jing's Tattoo shop because the reviews were great. I emailed Yida back and fourth about the tattoo and how much it would cost before I made an appointment. One of the things that set this place apart from other tattoo shops is that you can send in a picture of the tattoo you like with n estimated size and they will look at it through email and email you back with an estimated price. Yida had excellent customer service and emailed me back promptly overtime I had a question and answered every one of them. Jing does not speak english well so Yida translates and explains to her anything you would like her to know about your tattoo. What Jing lacks in communication, she makes up for in her attention to detail. She is extremely focused when she works. My tattoo was a feather/quill with birds flying out of it, a simple tattoo, but with the feather twisted. And she did an excellent job with it. I was very happy with the outcome and would trust her to do many more of my future tattoos. Yida wasn't there the day I got the tattoo but called me as soon as he came back to the job to ask me how it went and to explain the aftercare process.
